ICRealtime – The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly
ispy4u2 replied to DaveM's topic in Digital Video Recorders
It doesn't surprise me, seeing as how this could tarnish their reputation to a very large audience of potential customers. It's just a shame that THIS is what it took to get them to make things right. Because I am sure that if you never posted this thread, and just kept on trying to call them and have them fix your unit, you would've gotten nowhere. Especially since they shipped your unit back to you before they even called to tell you "sorry, we dont replace motherboards". But now that you posted this thread, magically they have some resolution. Why didn't they have some resolution before they shipped it back? I am glad that you've been taken care of, and I do not doubt that they make a good product. It's just a shame that said product is backed by people who don't want to take care of their own, 100% of the time, no matter what. Kind regards, Your way off base on this. IC Realtime stands behind thier products period. You failed to see the point, IC REALTIME did it's due diligence first to establish if "DAVEM"'s dealer was still in business first, before deciding to deal with the end user. I see too many trunk slammers act as "Dealers" just to sell one or two products from any "XYZ" wholesalers, then disappear and in this issue, "DAVEM" dealer went out of business and IC Realtime encourages it's dealers to resolve the issues first hand, and if the DEALER can not resolve the isssue, IC REALTIME will step in. IC Realtime is not in the business of taking care of end users, IC Realtime's authorized DEALERS are supposed to take care of the end users. Yes, my post in biased, as I stated I only buy IC Realtime security products, but I have tested the intergrity of IC Realtime numerous times in the past. How? As the exclusive dealer in the North Florida market, if a end user comes into one of my stores and grabs a catalog; which is a IC Realtime catalog with IC Realtime's contact info all over and a end user calls them to try and circumvent my operation, thinking they will get a cheaper price, IC Realtime just refers them back and if the "end user" states they will buy someone elses equipment cause they can't buy direct, IC Realtime still sticks to it's guns to protect the DEALER first. So I know without the "END USER" thier would be "NO SALES", but without a WHOLESALER who backs it's DEALER NETWORK, you have constant bidding wars going on. I tried all the other importers who rebadged gear like IC Realitme and the "others" will sell to anyone with a credit card. Are you seeing the point now? Far as making this right, IC Realtime has not agreed to fix the DVR in question for free, nor should they have too. As a subject matter expert on at least the IC Realtime product line, the DVR in question without a doubt has at least one of it's camera inputs surged (or mutliple). And "DAVEM" has already stated he's a novice at camera installation, if he didn't install his cameras the right way originally (grounded, power supply, wiring over high voltage power lines etc) is the reason his DVR is non malfunctioning. And since "DAVEM" already did his due diligence by identifying the actual manufacturer as listed at http://www.dali-tech.com/en-ProductInfo.asp?TypeID=8&ID=13 I'm confident if "DAVEM" had conversations with them, they would be stating the same thing to him about the cause of the DVR malfunction as I stated above. If I was IC Realtime, I would provide "DAVEM" with a cost estimate to repair the DVR and if "DAVEM" wants to absorb that cost. I'm sure IC Realtime will do it at actual costs as well. -
ICRealtime – The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly
ispy4u2 replied to DaveM's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Bottom Line Up Front: With the advent of the internet, it basically allows ANYONE to source a product directly and I seen happen to many times in the past, where a customer gets a PROPOSAL for "XYZ" brand name equipment and the customer try's to cut out the middlemen by trying to buy direct. IC Realtime values "ALL" dealers that buy from them, whether BIG or SMALL and I applaud IC by sticking to thier guns. How does that apply to the topic at hand? Simple, you have a "end user" calling IC Realtime out of the blue, demanding service and the first thing IC Realtime does is try to validate "WHO, WHAT & WHERE" of DaveM". Once they established that the DEALER for "DaveM" is out of business, then they assist him with his requests. Maybe things could have been streamlined in the RMA process "DAVEM" but you did send back the DVR without a RMA and IC Realtime still accepted vs. other national company's would have refused the shipment. As “DAVEM†-
Hey UK security installers, could you provide me with a copy of your CCTV Maintenance Plans agreements for use here in the USA?

How far is the cable run to the camera? Are you using coax or the plug and play type cable? Do you have a cable tester? Check to see if you have a ground loop issue.

I know thier are issues with the Brits and Irish , but try IC REALTIME based in Ireland and acquire the 10X DN for under $800 USD and works the same as the REG-X camera Thier website is at http://www.icrealtime.ie

Remote Access To DVR Using Cellular Service??????
ispy4u2 replied to shoreviewsecurity's topic in Digital Video Recorders
We used the air card routers as listed at http://www.evdoinfo.com/content/view/2043/64/ for remote locations, though the FPS drops significantly on remote viewing, you can still control the DVR and PTZ's connected to it without problems, depending on the FPS you elect on your DVR end. [/url] -

Suggestion for mini indoor flush mount PTZ
ispy4u2 replied to alpine0000's topic in Security Cameras
As a dealer of IC Reatltime products, we are pleased with the 100X PTZ. Once in a while, depending on the frequency and duration of AUTO TOUR, specifically if you use for more than 100+ hours non stop, the camera might just stop at it's last pre-set during the AUTO TOUR until you resend the AUTO TOUR command, which is preset 71! When determining which PTZ (indoor/outdoor) will best suit your requirements, look at the optics of the camera first, before thinking a 22X will work better vs the 10 X optical. -
Hello from Jacksonville, Florida

SCW, do you work out of a brick and motar location or home based? We have office/warehouse in Jacksonville as well, but HQed in Daytona Beaach, perhaps we should meet in person? -
Transmitters today can work on both NLOS (non line of sight) and LOS (line of sight). Chosen the right one, depends on a number of factors: 1) NLOS or LOS 2) Distance from the RX to the TX Alot of new TX/RX technologies are available and depending on whether you using analog vs IP makes a difference as well. I have used VideoCom systems and Trango systems in the past and then used the low end systems from FWV with success for short distances. Keep in mind, LOS has to be on the mark from TX to RX , as if you are off as much as 3 - 4 degrees, you will have little or no signal to deal with. When I place covert cameras that are wireless in buildings for my cllients, and I use LOS TX's, I will bring the RX closer to the TX by coax run back to the DVR to solve any issues of signal integrity!

Dome camera in coastal environment
ispy4u2 replied to da_c's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
The inherent problem with most economical DVR's is the motion detection software is not true motion detection, as it only looks for shift in the image (pels), so if a cloud passes by, or a bird, etc, the DVR tells the system to record. So in your case, it doesn't matter whether you have a $100 camera or a $1000 one, you going to see the same results or lack of! If anything, play around with camera placement and the sensitivity of your motion detection software. -
Thats why I asked how far his run(S) were. Has the problem been solved "shaikha" ?

I got a couple of emails about the EL450 from IC Realtime, so decided to post another image showing it's performance. The NEW version of the EL450 was just released by IC Realtime mid December 2008. The difference between the old and new, is old used a foam IR barrier, sometimes causing IR bleed back into the camera, and now the NEW uses a spring fed IR blocker that prevent the IR bleed associated with most IR dome cameras.

Any DVR you sell/install that doesn't have the Cell Phone remote view capability is easily achieved by buying the $125 Slingbox I have used it numerous times. Just use the video out of your DVR into the SlingBox and have your DVR sequence the images individually. Its actually faster stream using the slingbox, compared to most Cellphone remoteviewers I have used in the past. Compare yourself, say to Geovisons then SlingBox, and it's a lot faster.

Axis Illuminators
ispy4u2 replied to thewireguys's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
It's a rebrand, but the name eludes me right now. The company that makes those IR's was at ISC WEST 08, three boths over from GeoVision. -
How far are the runs to the new cameras? Secondly, you may have exposed wire in the EMT, cause the cameras to ground out. What type of surface are you mounting the new cameras to? Metal, Wood, Stucco? If metal, have you grounded the cameras correctly?

MU055 4 Ch DVR with wireless cameras problem
ispy4u2 replied to woody's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Woody, are your sure its the microwave that’s the culprit? Depending on the brand name of the DVR, I find with the lower end units, any WIRELESS CAMERA with less than 1 mw output, causes the lack of LINE LOCK on the receiver attached to the DVR, giving the DVR the appearance of a LOSS SIGNAL periodically. One could compensate this by extending the RX from the DVR location via coax closer to the TX camera side or increase the RX antenna gain. -
The bottom picture of ISPY4U2 tag, was in the rain and heavy overcast. Far as snow, can't answer that, but we are about to do a government job in Ann Arbor using the same bumper cameras and will provide screen shots then.

Another screen capture of the IC Realtime speedbump camera in action, un-edited, taken yesterday 12/29/08 during heavy overcast and moderate to heavy rainy conditions. I will post another image showing it at night as well, it doesn't matter the light conditions, your going to get a really sharp detail license plate for a good wholesale price from IC Realtime.

We often go to court as a SME (subject matter expert) for several DA's (district attorney's) in Central/North Florida. Most often challenged is the frame rate used and whether or not the video evidence maintained the watermark(s) and chain of custody. Who received the back-up copy and how was it stored since the court date. Using a DVR that is realtime in NON-REALTIME mode can cast doubt on the reliablity of the system. As with older motion jpeg DVR's, you can lose lot of action in the video, one second they are at the door, the other at the counter ; but missed what happens in between. So the Mace RW system you spoke of , is a real time system, hopefully you recorded in real time and prevent that challenge. I don't recall whether the MACE RW recorded in D1 mode or not, and whether you opted for that mode, but D1 is non real time at 7FPS and though we have been challenged on D1 at 7FPS, we have never had our clients video evidence thrown out of court.

I do not know about the "BEST RATED" license plate camera. But I have used the new IC REALTIME EL-ID1 : License Plate Capture Camera with much success (was first to use it from IC REALTIME) and before the release of the EL-ID1, I used the 10X-DN from them as well with no problems. I used to buy the REG-X but the price points were too high. Recently, IC Realtime added the Speedbump camera line, and we have already installed 9 units with excellent results. See actual screen capture below of a commerical location that we recently installed.

Attached is a EL450 actual screen shot. Its image is with the new version of the EL450 and 100% pitch black in our warehouse. 98% of my residential installations are now with the EL450 as compared to old version about 40%.
-
IC Realtime just improved the quality of the EL450 by replacing the FOAM ring around the lens with a new spring activated IR blocker and the image qaulity doesn't suffer now from IR backfeed.
