Well first I want to thank you guys for your input on this and second I was wondering if I can get a little more help? I picked up a CM9760-DMR read through the manual and I have a few questions, bear in mind that I am just an end user and I have no expertise in this field but so far I have been pretty happy with what I have for the house. If fact this system I installed was used when we had a guy break into my neighbors pole barn and then broke into my garage. The Pelco cameras picked it all up and the County Police used the footage as evidence and was able to arrest and convict the guy. He was thrown in jail. The police all said this was a top notch camera system and wished all homeowners had something like this as it would make there jobs easier! But the Sarix camera was the one that captured the Plate # on the truck ( Even at 1am ) so for that I am a Pelco guy. I know there may be better stuff, but in my experience so far I have been very happy with the equipment. Sorry for the book there... SO from what I have read it looks like I need to have all the Spectra's set to "D" protocol. As they are currently on "P" Also the Spectra's are direct wired for the PTZ function. So being that they are not daisy chained do I terminate each one? I believe that this how they are set but I will have to get up and take a look. Also I am going to use port 1 correct? The manuals all refer to full blown 9760 matrix systems or older DX7000 or DX8000 recorders. My DS RealVUE has PTZ function built in, unlike the DX that just use a serial port and adapter. Then I have the question on the 9760 keyboard as far as how does that wire into the DMR etc... Basically not wrapping my head around this project yet. Any help would be fantastic! I really appreciate you all taking to the time to help people like me out with this stuff. Thanks again! Mac

Thanks for the help! I will pick up the Pelco unit and give that a try. It will be great to be able to use the new pelco mobile app with the spectra's.

They are directly wired to the keyboard, no matrix.

Hello All, I currently have a Pelco system at my residence and I want to make a change in the PTZ configuration. I have a question though. First this is what my system consists of. DVR- Pelco DS RealVUE Dekstop PTZ Controller - Pelco CM9760KBD 1 Spectra IV 3 Spectra III SE's 1 Spectra Mini 3 Sarix IX30c's and several other fixed dome cameras Everything works great, I currently have the PTZ function directly handled by the 9760, that uses Pelco "P" protocol, my DVR needs only "D". Cameras are direct wired to 9760. I would like to have the function of controlling the Spectra's on the DVR and 9760. I may be missing something and this may be an easy thing to do, but from all my manuals I have read through it looks like I have to decide on one or the other. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance. -Mac

Controlling a Pelco Motorized Zoom Lens
bmac67 replied to bmac67's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
You would be correct, I actually just got an email from Pelco regarding this info as well, I will post it in case anyone else has a similar question. "since the 13ZD series lens requires there to be voltages on the wires to control zoom and focus functions, and since the CM9760-KBD outputs "P" protocol only, there will be a need to get a Receiver/Driver in between the camera/lens combo and the CM9760-KBD. A possible Receiver/Driver for use with the CM9760-KBD can be the ERD97P21-U unit. More information on this can be found here: http://www.pelco.com/global/en/products/camera-solutions/range-presentation.page?p_function_id=9510&p_family_id=10231&p_range_id=2926. "3) The CM9760-KBD can control up to 32 cameras (with 16 cameras on each of the data ports on the back), so, yes you can add in one more to the data line from the KBD as long as all proper data terminations are taken into account and proper address for "P" protocol is taken into account as well." Only draw back is this item runs about 500 bucks, so if anyone has an alternative that would be great to know about. Also I don't to use the 9760 controller a standalone unit will work as well. -
Hi All, I have a Pelco 13ZD Motorized lens that I would like to use for my home system. I currently have a CM9760-KBD keyboard controller that is used for my Spectra PTZ's, can this also be used for the Motorized zoom lens? The manual talks about this briefly, but I am still thinking it will not work. I know Pelco makes specific controllers for this and if that is what I need that is ok just wanted to make sure the 9760 is or isn't the way to go here. Thanks in advance! Bryan

Yeah it is set at 24vac, They where changed before I did anything with them as they come set at 12vdc. I know this is a camera issue, as today I got 4 more (new) cameras in and I used the existing power and video cables and they are all good. So the problem lies with the 2 camera's. Ted mentioned the switch settings for the auto iris lens. I know one has this for sure, the other I will go check. I will report back and see what I can find. I sure hope the camera's aren't bad. Thanks for the info.

Hello all, I am very new to CCTV but I have been reading up and I have bought several items for my first setup for my home. Here is what I have: 1) Integral Pelco DVX-500 DVR 9 Channel 500GB Also have 2 Pelco DX7016's but I am using the DVX500 for the time being. 1) Altronix ALTV2416300UL3 Power Supply 3) Pelco ICS200 Camclosuers 2) Pelco IS110-CHV9 Domes 1) Pelco IS100 Dome 1) Pelco G3512-2KHV3AK imagepak 1) Everfocus EHD350 Dome 1) Bosch 9449/20CH-38 Dome (Indoor) 1) Cove EVQ1000 HD Camera 4) Silent Witness indoor domes (12v) 1) Pelco Spectra 2 PTZ (Not using this one yet) Here is the problem, I can't get 2 cameras to work. They are the Pelco ICS200, and Pelco IS100. They are getting power as the heaters get toasty, but my dvr won't see them. I tried swapping coax cables from the other cameras that work and still nothing. I checked power at the camera's and it is showing 26.2vac with my fluke. These are all 24v cameras and the PS is a 24 / 28 vac unit. I am a little confused as why I am getting a reading of 26.2 but again I am new to this and maybe this is normal, maybe not. All cameras are within 200 feet of the DVR and PS. All have 18/2 power cables run to them. All have new RG59 cable. Yes cameras are set for AC power. Is there anything I can check next? I am having a hard time believing both cameras are bad, I know it is possible, but that seems odd. I am sure I am doing something wrong, just not sure what it is. Thanks for any help you may have on this. Bryan

Hello, I was wondering if anyone can tell me if these camera's (either the evq-3000 dome or the cvq-2500) will work with any dvr being that they must be programmed via pc (or other) for there setup. When the setup is complete will they function with all DVR's (I have a Integral DVX-500) and was looking to add a few more cameras and these look to be a nice quality addition. I tried covi's site and there is nothing there. Just the fact that GE Securities has bought them, GE's site I couldn't find info. Google just brings up basic info on these camera's. Thank you all very much for your time. Bryan

These are color, duplex multiplexers. I have 4 of these that where recently pulled from a working environment. Company upgraded system. These as you know are still current models. Current info can be found on pelco's web site. Looking for offers on these. Possible trade for camera's. Thanks for looking, Bryan
