Do you need DVR card for IP Cameras?
bchance replied to destro_23's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
if he's gutting the restaraunt i would go ahead and run all new cat5's to existing cams just in case he wants a full switch. -
I've seen similar issues when upgrading to 8.3. I dont know of a solution though sorry.

Is it just me or is there no option between 16-32? The bottom row is the same 1,4,8,12,16 and then there is no 20,26, 30, etc etc just goes from 16 straight to 32. I have a custom layout on mine and I'm wondering if it is hiding the other options but for some reason I doubt it. Would suck to have 18 cameras now wouldn't it.

i will check onthis when i get back to the office tomorrow. i know we just use a full custom skin so the only thing you see is our logo and tech support #. but i'll check on just how to remove that.

ver 8.2 ver 8.120 ver 7.0 these three per the author's notes are vulnerable due to the method of saving snapshots. once again not good.

Havning an issue and it's probably because I don't really understand what DSP really is or does but I've noticed when upgrading my dvrs from 8.2 to 8.3 that dsp overlay is checked now and there are blue boxes around each video frame. If I uncheck dsp overlay the lines go away but on restart it's checked again. Question 1: What is DSP Overlay? Question 2: Can you disable it and if so does it distort the quality? Thanks guys.

geovision stores current configuration in the windows folder so even if you uninstall gv and reinstall the same or different version the configuration will still be there...even camera names. if you don't plan on taking advantage of the 32 camera stacking then i would stay at 8.2 until some of the bugs get worked out

very nice rory was about to code one myself but you already did it anyway to get an update to block the entire ctrl key, alt key and windows key? windows key is just a registry entry the other two would have to be timers. alt-tab, ctrl-esc, and win-d pretty much bypass this. thanks

Honest thoughts on ACTi cameras?
bchance replied to Bungle's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
The company i work for uses the ACTi 7411's incorporated with milestone and it looks very clean. Just like VST_Man said there are a few issues with the configuration, a save and reboot is required on each change and even though you can change some of the options in the ACTi ip utility the program itself is still a little buggy. Even with those issues it's a fantastic setup. -
You are just remoting into the DVR and not going to your PC and then going to the dvr with software on your pc, correct? Like the person before me reboot the router and give us some more detailed information.
