motion detection with annunciator
jisaac replied to jisaac's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
let me clarify something I did not explain before. This does not have to be a all in one device. What I need is motion detected outside ----> alarm out ----> pre-recorded message played for the suspect or passing squirrel to hear. (your welcome for the detailed professional flowchart I created for you guys) -

what happeaned to the updated picture? -
alot of people think they want all that but are not willing to pay for it. I would check and make sure he is really willing to pay for that.

ya in arkansas you have to have: minimum 350,000 dollar insurance policy Level I & Level II license through the NBFAA A perfect Record And alof of money because it cost a boatload to get all that done. If I was to hire someone and get them licensed it would cost the following: $100 to process the employees background and license info. $1,400 to have them go through the level I class. And take the test. Another $1,400 if they dont pass it. After that info is done then they proceed with the background information. (so they can make you pay all that money to get your prospective employee process only to find out they dont qualify for something on their record). its ridiculous.

your right it does but not all of them. But the alarm companies are pretty much the same. The alarm companies around here are very much cheap and know nothing about how to provide and effective system. Thats why I try tell people up front that I wont be competitively priced. So the trunk slammers can install all the crappy systems they want. I did not want the cheap people anyway. they irritate the crap out of me.

the lease of your worries would be that the video would not be able to be used in court. Yes you do have to have a license And I would not install or even go out and do a proposal if you dont have a license. Seeing as how it is a class D felony in the state of arkansas. They take it extremely seriously here. You have to meet certain criteria and also under go a arkansas and FBI background check. Then you have to have completed Level I and Level II class through the National Burgler and Fire Alarm Association. call this number to find out 618 8000 to find out info.

But then again I am a geek and get a thrill out of things like that. believe it or not I had a dream last night that I was a toshiba ip camera. I need a vacation -

ya those panasonic 484 are excellent. You really are able to see how much of a picture you are missing without WDR. Those have become the number 1 seller for us. Even though they are one of the most expensive fixed cameras that we sell. People will pay for that type of quality. -
just out of curiousity what is the biggest project you have done besides this one? Well in a large project its always good to have the large prop ject broken up into several small projects (phases). Also you want to make sure that you and the person who is over the project that your are providing this for are on the same page the entire time. This can be done by having detailed statements of work for each phase that is to be completed. That way they cant withold anything for a misunderstanding. Also you dont want to get done with an exstensive section of the project only to find out that that is not what they wanted. Each phase of the project shoudl be walked through and signed off once completed. Also be sure and have everyone installing complete a schematics of all wire and where everything is going. Because chances are you will have to troubleshoot something on this system. And you dont want to spend a month.

i am not ever set on a certain brand. Because technology is always changing. I look for new technologies and better performing equipment all the time. Some product manu. will have some excellent products and some worthless products. I dont think it is good to limit yourself to one manufact as you will limit yourself in solutions that you provide. But then again that is just my personal opinion. I could be wrong.

it is good to always try to prevent as much as possible. But like I always tell people, criminals are going to do what they want no matter how much you try to prevent it. So you might as well get it on good video when they do. Prevention is something you should try. But you should not depend on it. Video surveillance is your insurance in case your safety measures did not prevent your accident. You should never put all your eggs in one basket.

you stated that the place is pretty well illuminated at night and that you did not think that the night vision was necessary. Just to clarify as alot of people make this mistake. The leds on the extreme camera are not primarily for night time viewing. You see the obstacle you must overcome with License plate capture is that fact of the glare that the sun will create when it bounces off of the plate. Well these leds on the reg will be on all the time. And the filters on the reg will be used to filter out the sun light which creates an image of extreme contrast. So the leds will be used to put the illumination on the plate and allow that light to pass through the filter so you can see the plate regardless of the light level in the environment surrounding the camera. The panasonic sdIII cameras are excellent cameras. But dont expect a license plate more than 60% of the time if the install was perfect. The extreme will get you about 95%. I dont even install the panasonic for lpr. Thats because I dont like things to kind of work. But if he does not mind getting a shoot and miss type of scenario than the panasonic 484 would be good.

ya i would go for a vpd with conduit knockouts. Or try a mount like this http://catalog2.panasonic.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ModelDetail?displayTab=O&storeId=11201&catalogId=13051&itemId=93572&catGroupId=14691&modelNo=PHM474SA&surfModel=PHM474SA

oh man thats great. Thats almost as funny as if you ever have to break down and call some level one tech support to get some stupid code that only the manufacturer would have.
-
I almost said to him "you know that is the biggest load of horse ****". But I thought to myself ,"ya know I dont know everything I might want to check just before I tell him he needs to take the short bus back to the cable company." It is what I figured. That is the worst answer I have ever heard from a tech.

Looking for Camera Beta Testers (CCTV Forum Exclusive)

where are the cams? -
oh ya might I add the fact that I had to buy a bunch of connectors at the beginning as it took everyone a little while to get use to the way you have to strip the jacket and foam perfectly.

I agree with most of what you said vst-man but I feel you dont need a visual reference with compression. Because if you did not do it right it does not stay on. Its either 100% correct or 0%. Ya with compression once that sucker is on there, it is on there! They are excellent for maintaing 75 ohm's within the connection regardless. The only down side to compression is they significantly more expensive per compression ends and compression tool. But since I started using them around november we have not had to replace any ends on any cables yet! That goes to the credit of either its done correct or it will slide right off.

i dont know much about the geo problems but if you are wanting blc on any of the cameras I would switch the pano 484 to the outside. Because inside although the pano 484 look good the outdoor camera shots look alot more demanding.
