i like the fujinon varifocal day/night aspherical lens. Those make a difference especially for low light conditions and illuminators -
Best and most impressive ptz/ multiiplexer controller?
jisaac posted a topic in Video Transmission/Control Devices
I was curious as to what is the coolest and most impressive ptz controll board that you have seen? This is not a right or wrong answer. Just curious as to what different people like and have used. I have gotten a chance to use quite a few but would like to get some feedback from others. If you can post a link to the controller you post. Appreciate it. -
when you said that the image quality was the same you mean with the lines?
-
I cant comment on the settings of his geo vision equipment. You will know way more than me on that. I just know that those wavy squiggly lines throughout most of the pictures is due to his ups. I have seen that many times.

this off of the specs sheet from rorys post OutputOutput Power Capacity 390 Watts / 650 VA Max Configurable Power 390 Watts / 650 VA Nominal Output Voltage 120V Waveform Type Stepped approximation to a sinewave Output Connections (4) NEMA 5-15R (Battery Backup) (4) NEMA 5-15R (Surge Protection) exactly why he has seen no lines. Because he uses sinewave output ups.
-
well your problem right because ups with avr usually are not the cheapest line of ups available. And thats why you have not had any instances of the square wave form putting those lines in your pictures. But the basic ups do use square waveform and that is exactly the reason why he has those lines.
-
there is no specific brand of ups shoudl get but the thing to keep in mind is these two terms. 1. Square waveform 2. Sine waveform Square wave form is used in the cheaper ups products. Mostly used for computer systems. This is probably the kind that you are using as it is prone to putting those lines through your pictures. Sine Waveform is a more expensive output but does not get into your video. When you are looking for a ups specify that you are needing a sine waveform ups. It will cost more but just as the saying goes. "YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR" HOPE THAT HELPS

because there is a difference in computer ups and cctv ups as the computer ups will cause those small jagged lines in picture. The ups for cctv will not.

do you mean would ground loops be more prevelent in 12v or 24vac? i think that is what you meant. If so this is my personal opinion. It may not be 100% correct but from my experience it does not matter as ground loops are not caused by the type of power but how your equipment is grounded. For example lets look at how vst's scenario happeaned. His camera was mounted and his cables were hooked up. there was a ground for his equipment that was at the dvr/monitor end. But when the screw touched the emt conduit it created a double ground which induced voltage on the shield of the cabling that was hooked up to it. Which created a ground loop in his 60hz cycle. When he unscrewed that screw touching the emt it solved the problem. Because he went back to only one ground. Which allowed any overflow in current to flow in the direction of the circuits ground. Thomas: you wrote" Otherwise known as why I sit behind a desk and not in the field where I can do harm. I had forgotten about the power supply ground" If I waited until I knew everything before I started installation then I would grow old and die way before I was able to think about starting. I just recently am starting to get a general understanding of how ground loops get into our video.

do you have this plugged into a ups? if so what kind?
-
i have done alot of jobs with photoelectric beams. They work great. I have not had any experience with wireless ones. But beams on perimeter work great.
-
I second that. Lighten up. Take it easy. And remember to explain ourselves in detail a little more. That way we dont misunderstand.
-
ouch 150???? man you can come off more than that! You might as well put up a dummy camera
-
pelco does have excellent support.
-
usually the cameras are grounded to the monitor/dvr
-
that is usually what it is. Most ground loops are caused at the camera location. If you can make your camera in a floating environment (floating from any mtetal) then you should be ok. Its almost always because of the some metal touching apart of your camera or cable creating a double ground. Which induces voltage on the shielding of your cable.

Testing Self made cables...
jisaac replied to Khandurian's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
relax. You probably did a good job. If you want to test your connectors just give them a good yank. If you want to get a tester to test your cable ya you can spend alot on some video line generator.Or you could get a time domain refloctometer. Or you could just get a multimeter and then measure your ohm rating on your cable. Thats the easiest way and least exspensive. (besides the yank) -
How is it that I am still not listed in Google's index? http://www.arksurveillance.com Can anone figure this one out for me? You know what is strange I found out? If you go to msn search and type in the phrase "digital audio video recorder"; of all the pages on the internet mine comes up first. But you can type "arkansas surveillance security" right in googles search and get nothing! Frustrating. Any help would be greatly appreciated

I appreciate it. I have been working on a whole new design that does not have any product on the page. Where it will be only emphasing our services and solutions. Not talking about specific products. Also where I will have an extensive customer testimonials.

jisaac replied to GECAMGUY's topic in Security Cameras
I have not recieved mine yet -
does anyone know of a GOOD low light covert camera that I could use for a residental installation? I am looking for quality not lowest price. Any suggestions?
-
does it not seem like google would pick that up? I mean in my access logs I can see that googles bots come through there atleast once a month. So its not like they have passed it up on accident. Plus I have manually submitted it.
-
man wide dynamic range cameras are freaking awsome. I dont know why they have not exploded on the market for you guys yet. I dont care how much they cost people will pay for that type of quality.
-
red lines thats a new one. Definitly post some pics because I am at a lost for that one.
-
this is not necessarly for people that are not suppose to be there. This is for observing people that are suppose to be there. And do you have any links for these board cams?
