  1. Oh man that is not even close. They are alot more than that. Yes I know how much they cost but I am not going to post it here. I would in the dealer forum. Well then it is really not that important to they business owner. If he is serious he way pay several thousand for a camera that will do the job.
  2. One of the most common request by customers is that they want to "zoom" in when watching playback. And this is possible. But when you enlarge an image that has already been recorded it will be distorted the more you "zoom"/blow up the picture. The thing is the camera is going to be putting out a certain resolution. The recorder will record that video at a certain resolution. So the playback will be in a specifiic resolution and if you zoom in your only expanding the pixels that are compiled on that pictures your playing back. So as you zoom in on the pictures pixels you will be lessining the number of pixels in the screen making the picture quality worse and worse. This is exactly why the DIY people who rig up their business will make all their shots as wide as possible to cover as much area as they can and save money by lessing the amount of cameras to cover everything. And so when an event happeans the identifiable features that are so critical especially for prosecution are not easy to see because the item/action is such a small number of pixels on the screen that you cant make it out especially when you blow it up. The answer to this is the have camera shots that are very narrow and not getting a "all in one" coverage shot. So that way it will have been recorded as a large number of pixels in the screen. Now you are wanting to blow up a license plate. You need to re approach this. LPR is a difficult and has alot of variables not usually a concern in other type of camera shots. Your LPR camera has to be only used to get LPR. Cant be a overview shot of parking lot. Or front of the building. You have to design your shot for only the best spot for the LPR. If you are an installer and are doing installs for a living you need to forget the concept of zooming in on playback. Its something that works really good on CSI but not in in the real world. Now for your camera go to Extreme CCTV. Dont mess around with anything else. If you do you will be frustrated and disapointed.

    Camera Master 2 review

Ok I was contemplating for a while to get one of these and after VST got one and gave a review I decided to go ahead and get one. Well I finally got it in. It was back ordered for 2 weeks. And here is my thoughts: First I have to say the casing does feel kind of cheap. Feels like one drop will be its only. So a strap would have been a wise choice for them to ad. One thing I was not aware of was the fact that FM systems feel that the world is running short on 9 volt batteries. So to combat this supposed "shortage of 9 volt batteries" they made the auto shut of timing WAY to short. That is extremely annoying! I mean heck its not that big of deal if I run my 9 volt battery to long. Like VST said the guy who timed that was sitting at a bench and has probably used this thing with the same camera for 10 years. That timing issue is a major minus for the tester. Also they should have provided some terminating resistors or a calibrated jumper cable. Now hooking your camera up to it does provide a better camera shot after using it. Although there has been a few times I had to unplug it and plug it back in because the reading was way off. It is easy to adjust while looking using the reading on the meter. It is good to be able to give it to some one else and let them come back with a perfect shot. It is convenient. Overall I think the Cm-2 is pretty nice in the way it is effective. But the design and development could have been much better. In the end I feel it is a good toy but not a necessity. If you have the extra cash and want another toy go ahead. If you have a test monitor and not much extra cash then you will be ok without it. So thats my review hope it shines some light for those curious on how different people feel about it.

    PTZ HELP

he will get tired of it pretty quickly. Its funny sometimes to hear people and what they think they will do alot. But if they will pay for it then more power to them
  7. now I have to give a plug....Northern Video is the place to get these cameras. Good prices Good service. If you need them they are the place to get them..And just about anything else.
  8. that does not look like a very good dvr. I am not sure those guys even know what those guys even know what the heck they are talking about. How does 120G hard drive decide their "tru real time recording"? I would have to so that one is probably a bad choice. You get what you pay for. If you go cheap your going to get cheap.
  9. neverfocus.............I like that. Thats hilarious. I am not sure what everfocus camera model that was it might have been a POS-24/7 just kidding. they were not domes they were box cameras. But i just took it down and tossed it aside. did not look at the model number. When I go back I will look at the rest of them and see what kind they were.
  10. alright i got some real world images. first is a everfocus camera. the rest are pana 484 Just like VST says "you get what you pay for" [/img]

    Wrestling video

You guys want to see a video clip that I got from a location today? this is pretty funny. This kid steals a candy bar and the woman in the video confronts him about it. Well he says that he was only putting it in his pocket so that he can buy it later (ya right). So anyway when he takes out the candy bar he also takes out other things he was going to "pay for". So the video picks up where she is talking to him and he makes his run for it. The guy and the girl are trying to keep him inside by his shirt. Then BIG MAMA comes in and takes control of the situation and then puts him in a head lock of death. By the way we did not install these cameras. They are poor cameras. I think everfocus. http://arksurveillance.com/hostvids/wrestling.avi

  15. In the test bench I posted a video of these employees that are wrestling a thief. that was a everfocus camera. Well yesterday I replaced it with a panosonic 484 and pointed it right at the door. When I go back on monday I will get a snapshot of that. It is absolutle amazing how it can get clear pictures of the other side of the door as well as the inside.

    ge vs honeywell

there was recently a court case in ft. lauderdale that ruled that 3fps per second was not admissable in court.

Camera mounted on wall for watching panel

    can you post a picture?
  18. jisaac

    DVR's which one??

if you think ge is high end and think ic is mid range then you need to actually try the ic dvr and then make comments like that. I just pulled out a Ge out of a location because it was worthless. Client loved the IC / Hated the GE What makes you even have the ability to say what line the IC is if you have not even used it?
  19. oh no you dont have to get a welder you can get a pole mount. Here is an example of a install we just did. those poles are 2"rigid conduit 12 ft from the ground and 3 feet in the ground

  21. BLC on anything other than a WDR is a joke to me. I cant speak for all cameras but I know the Pano's 484 works for just about any area of high contrast. And the pano's 484 are excellent for night time image. Like rory was saying if you go cheap on the wdr your problem going to get a bad night time image. We recently put in a some 484's facing straight at a front door that was glass and no tint on the window at all. The sun was coming through the door so much it heated the tile on the floor. So in other words it was bright. And the front little room when you walked in the building was pretty dim. And the camera was able to get excellent face shotws inside the door and outside. I was amazed. Then we replaced it with a another mid grade regular 540 high res camera (name witheld) and it was bleached! The only time you could maybe make out someone was when they walked as close to the camera as they could before going up under it (farthest away from the door). So in other words it was a waiste of a shot. Then put the pano back up and 100% usuable. I would highly recommend paying the extra money for it. And by the way I got those pictures from the panansonic spec assist cd that they will provide if you request it. Ya that cd is awsome. It has all kinds of stuff that makes it alot easier to sell their stuff. It more specifically under the digital products training on the cd. I also like they have all the bid specs on all their equipment so you can just quickly attach the specs for you proposals. That cd is what every manufacturer should do. I know it helps me sell their stuff alot more. a picture is worth a thousand words

    mace new cam 77 image

I would recommend this. I know this camera does not have Ir's but these panasonic cameras can see better in almost complete darkness better than alot of the cheaper cameras can see with Ir's. They are extremely sensitive. Plus great picture.

    mace new cam 77 image

are you wanting to only see 10 ft? Or are you wanting to see farther? Was not sure what you meant And if you have lights that are activated by motion then why do you want IR? Good flood lights are way better to use than IR's.
  24. What kind of mount can I use for a PTZ on an all aluminum building like this. (corner mount)
