went ahead and went with a pole mount. (this one is watching those sweet cars!) Hey, its Arkansas. Did not think that I wanted to deal with another aluminum building and wind problem again. I mounted them on 12 foot poles of rigid conduit.

Type of Camera To Capture Faces at Main Door???
jisaac replied to pcmate's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
here are some more demonstrations -
Well in 2006 it has been different for obvious reason's. But before that I got mace from mace (obviously). And got all other equipment from you guys (pansonic, pelco, and a few others). But ya now you guys get 90% of my equipment (minus dvr's). Ya northern video and staff is always good and resourceful. I like getting equipment from distributors alot better than manufacturers. I also like that northern video's support team is now ran by a 18 year old kid who thinks he knows it all oh ya and that also tells me that HE manufactured maces oem dvr's. That is the #1 way to get me on your bad side is lie to me.

ya I know, its like they hold on to those upload speeds like they are ebay stock or something.

http://www22.verizon.com/FiOSForHome/channels/FiOS/root/package.aspx that will be awsome.
-
its something along the lines of middle atlantic all they make is racks and lock boxes
-
give me a couple of hours I will give you a picture and who makes it. I dont know it right of the top of my head.
-
try to put it in a secure room that is not accessed by everyone. IF that is not available I will use a lockbox. Northern video sells me a awsome lockbox for alot less than anyone else will sell me. Plus the thing is alot easier to bolt to the floor than any other lockbox being that you can get your hands around inside it.

ya its not in my area yet. We will be last one's to get it seeing as I live in arkansas (aka the sticks). We are always the last to get stuff. We will probably have to get electricity first.

ya i stopped using passive baluns a while back when I kept getting ground loop problems. I really like to use the active hubs at the head end. And with the check video you dont have to let the customer see. Usually I dont let the customer see much of anything until we are done. I really cant stand the guys that stand over you the whole time and ask you a ton of questions. But then again I like them better than the person that gives you no info on what they want during a site survey. especially when they say "your the professional you tell me what I need". And then when you give them a proposal that makes them do a back flip in their seat and they say "that was more than i was expecting".

Anybody heard of this yet? http://www.cernium.com/PDFs/CheckVideo%20Data%20Sheet.pdf Looks pretty interesting. Whats cool about it is you can check them and dont have to be onsite.

broadware does stuff like that. You might want to check them out.

man in some of my experience we have gotten burned (not as bad as this though) on the customers you go above and beyond on. Makes you want to like you said do the bare minimum.
-
I agree with that.

man definitly get a waiver. You need to get one signed that states that you only provide the equipment. You dont guarantee the functionality of it. Because if you dont then you will get sued. If not by these people then someone down the line. Also did they sign your proposal? Did you promise in writing what the cameras will do? And also what else did you promise in writing that they system will do? What I do (not saying this is right) but what I do is agree to provide a list of equipment and for a certain price. In no way we do I ever agree to be providing any event caputure with the system. Thats were you get yourself into trouble. Good luck.

Does anyone else use a Multi-monitor set up for the computers? (non cctv related). I really just now set mine up and its kind of weird to get use to.
-
Man it is ubelievable how many people do not secure their wiireless networks. I have 7 unsecured networks around my house. At almost any give time in little rock I can find an unsecured network to jump on if I need to. I thought about getting verizons wireless broadband so during the day I can always have access. But dont need to. If they are advanced enough to set the dang thing up you would think they would secure it. Nope.

man you live in canada you have a easy. I live arkansas where it is hot and humid! Not to mention 2 dvr's, 1 pc, 1 laptop, 1 21"cctv monitor, 42 plasma, 1 19"CRT, and 1 17" Lcd. Man around 11 o clock in the day it is a sauna in here. I have to do something about that it gets HOT in here. It was 87 degrees outside today and I bet at one point today is was hotter several degrees hotter in here (i accidently covered my vent). But man I definitly know what you mean.
