thats good because you get a good thorough answer. What I like about this forum is in alot of topics there might not be one specific answer only to a question/problem and its good to get every ones answer on how they do that.

Does anyone know of high res low light camcorder? I am talking like a professional camcorder that is capable of seeing in low light like the panasonic 484's. This is for a Private detective around here who has deep pockets and wants a good self contained low light camera/recorder. Anyone know of any good ones?

jasper, dont forget a significant cost difference.

oh heck ya! You have got put a clip of that up. I will host it if you need me to. I am sure we all would love to see that. Oh and for the enclosure if he would have blown air into the bag and then sealed it off it would have been his version of a pressurized enclosure! Hey, you have to admit it was creative

I went out to do a proposal for a guy today and he already had a system that he installed himself. (obviously he was wanting to upgrade). So as I usually do I took my digital camera and found a new style housing/enclosure for cameras. Check it out. I thought you guys might like that. It was good for a laugh. Have a good day guys.

he was seriously using it. And you know what was even more shocking? The camera worked and you could not see the bag on the screen. Now the definition of worked does not mean it produced a good image. But it was making an image.

Problems with alluminum building......The solution
jisaac posted a topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Ok I posted a new topic since the old one got off topic. I found out what was wrong with the cams going on and off The had a new sign installed and the installers when installing the sign moved our wire that was the slack for the cameras and zip tied it to a beam therefore giving it no slack. Well when that happeaned the wind would blow making the mounts on the building bounce and the wire was rubbing against that beam. It was putting alot of resistance on the wire in a place I did not know this was happeaning. I pulled that whole section off and cut it off and measured the resistance. The old wire was 26k and the new was 3k. wow what a difference. The cameras now are working perfectly and the picture is obviously alot better also. I thought I would post the solution. That whole thing was pissing me off. I was wondering why all the sudden the wind was such a factor. I figured the wire was slowly working its way out of the terminals. It was the only logical thing I could think off. Its good to know that it was not our installation problem and was some numbskulls idiotic move. -
that was pretty funny

I do not have any experience with the 7000 but only with the 80000. The good thing about servicing a pelco system is all you have to do is call their techincal support. They are #1 in support and will help you in anyway. Even if you know nothing about their dvrs. Which is exactly how I was turned on to pelco. (knew nothing about pelco and had to service a massive system) (800) 289-9100

I use a static.

Does anyone know what they resistance of cat 5 should be on about a 150 ft run? about 2.8-3 right?
-
oh ya and when I finally talked to one of their support guys (one of the lower level) I asked him, "what am I suppose to tell the customer?". He told me and I quote, "I dont know we will think of a lie". Ya know that is not how I do business but obviously that is the way they handle things when their equipment does not work. So can you be sure you will get an honest answer from Mace? You decide!

Good Lord! What is the deal with all the Super cells always somehow make right into my area and go right over us! http://www.srh.noaa.gov/ridge/radar.php?product=N0V&rid=LZK&loop=yes if anyone is on right now take a look at that radar image and the above is the base velocity dopplar radar showing the power of the storm. Ok now look at this one http://www.srh.noaa.gov/ridge/radar.php?product=N0R&rid=LZK&loop=yes this is base reflectivity on a dopplar radar and once again I am right at the base of the storm where it "Bowes" which I am not sure if you guys are familiar with Tornadic Super Cells but that means thats the "eye of the storm" not meaning the middle like it does in the hurricanes but means the worse place to be and the most likely to spin one in your direction.

nope just shelter in place. we have a big closet that is in the bathroom that is used as a hamper. Its a perfect spot to go. Well actually my wife and kids go. I am a storm spotter for the national weather service so most of the time I am on the phone with them giving them reports.
-
if you were on last night when I posted that you would have caugth a glimpse of the storm in relation to me.

Does anyone use and recommend a specific man/provider of guard shacks. (not the really small one montior ones) more like 7-10 monitors and control station.
-
what do you mean where it should go? What are you trying to cover? I have used some 16x's before outside. They work pretty good.
-
Has anyone else got one of those panasonic spec assist cd's? Man that is exactly what every single manufacter should provide. It has all kind of things including Presentations, Visio shapes, Prodcut Bid specs, and all kinds of stuff. You have to go to their website and request one of them. Very Very wise decision on who ever implemented that idea.

are you talking about sales pitches at the show or in the post? At the show I did not do one pitch at all. I completely asked questions and let them decide. And in this post I wont make a dime if he buys a dvr ic dvr or not. I dont sell on this forum. So what comes of this post does not affect my income in any way. I am letting this guy know of what is quality. Is that not acceptable?

Today I was the arkansas business and technology expo. I got a booth and set we set up a ptz across that covered the whole floor and and a few other cameras at our booth. I am watching the playback of some of the video and it is absolutly mind boggling how good this video is. I mean everyone that came up and looked at was amazed also. There was a company their that had a bosch system it was a................. oh who gives a f*** what type of dvr it was, it was inferior. I took my laptop to him and showed him an online demo of the remote software live from the show and locations from coast to coast on the same screen. This is his exact words "man that is just embarrassing. I wonder if the same people I showed this to happeaned to go by and look at your dvr. Man thats just outright embarrassing". The other company that had a march networks dvr demo showing I went to next. I went to him without my laptop and introduced myself and asked him to tell me about his dvr and the type of quality and let him do his presentation on me. He was extremely confident that what he was showing me was top of the line best quality and was pretty ****y about it. After he was done I complimented him on his equipment and said that MAYBE I will show him what we do. He responded "would love to see what you guys do." and quickly added "we are a large electrical company that is able to do alot of things OTHER companys cant do, There is nothing better than this dvr right here" (speaking of the march networks). So I went and got my laptop came back and showed him all the different features and qualitys. Never once did I tell him how good it was but asked feelings questions. ( how do you feel......... about the quality of the live about the playback resolution ........... etc) In other words I let him decide for himself what the dvr was. After I was done his immediate response was," well we are an electrical company we dont just do surveillance/security products so what we sell is more for the average small business owner" (immediate change in how good his dvr was) And these dvrs are by no means "bad" dvr's. Just the icpro knocks the ball out of the park when it comes to side by side comparison. Its kind of like how you thought your tv looded pretty good until you saw real HDTV on a good HD Monitor! Then you were like, " man my tv at home sucks!"
