  3. Hey at the summit in dallas last weekend this guy was showing us how you can use any usb remote control to control a ptz. It was with the axis software. And he was right he was able to control the moondance with that controller. Was pretty neat. What I want to know, no wait let me re phrase that. What I want to SEE is someone hook up those dance pads for video games that those chinese kids in the arcade at the arcade in your local mall dance on. Where you have to dance the dance that the screen tells you too. could you imagine someone actually controlling a ptz in a control room with the "dance dance revolution" and getting all into it like those kids in the arcade do! That would be hilarious! Ok rory, lets see you do it and post some video! You know you want to.

  7. Here is a question I have for you guys who have experience in installations. Which type of bulbs do you think causes the most problems in your camera shots? This is purely your opinion. Just would like to know what your experience has been and if you can describe the image problems.
  8. do you know what is amazing to me is around here people dont realize that the system that they had was not going to be effective (usefull video) until an event happeans and they find this out upon review. Man I am so extremely meticulous in each camera that I am still making sure the camera is adjusted way after the customer ok's it. A couple of weeks ago I got suckered in to doing a an install on saturday for a guy that I grew up with. And of course he was having us install an existing system in his new building. (not our equipment). Well that same weekend he got stuff stolen from his back area where he parks his trucks with equipment in it. I am not sure of the type of light that was out back but it was one of those huge bubls that puts out a peach color and it rained that night so the light was intisified off of the wet pavement and you could see nothing. the cameras were cheap bullets and I got to say, "sorry, thats what you get with sorry equipment". The cameras were just blinded by this light that was not that bad. I would like to get a better knowledge of exact lights and their names and how they affect your picture. try to deal with things before your "dealing" with them.

    How do you install CCTV

oh yes drop ceilings are a plus. But even better is un insulated drop ceilings. Even better???? Uninsulated drop ceilings and large open shafts between every floor. (some of the buildings for the air birds out here)

    Explain this one to me.

ya know what is amazing is it just shows the small amount of spectrum that is out there. I mean it would be real easy if I could see this shadow with my own eyes. But to me its just real dark. And then walk to the monitor and see it. Completely mind boggling

    Explain this one to me.

ya, I have tried thinking logically on this one and got no where. But ya this is a great idea to turn the pano because that thing is extremely sensitive to any light. When night falls i will try that.

    Explain this one to me.

ya I did and when I did there is a really dark picture. Obviously shadow is gone because the illumination is gone to.

    Explain this one to me.

here is my theory. And I am pretty sure that this is probably it because this is the only possible way. ok here is a quick diagram of my house and this set up from a a birds eye view. Ok so the ir's are hitting the ground (#1) reflecting back and hitting my shed(#2) in the back yard and reflecting back in the direction of the way it came and passing the ladder(#3) and therefore giving a shadow. thats a good ways to travel but has to be the way.

    Explain this one to me.

i am sure that the 68 is not behind the ladder I have gone out there and staired at the setup atleast 4 times. And my wife went to visit her mom out of town so cant do that. I swear it makes no sense but it that is how that set up is. I was hoping someone would give me a really easy obvious answer.

were you talking about if you can buy the #5 welders glass?
  22. jisaac

    Backfocus

#5 welders glass. Works Perfect. As along as you can put it all the way against the glass without any light getting through.
