geovision really? Man I need to take a second look at them. what is the cost of dvr that does better than this one? Seriously I am always looking for the best systems to provide. Can You post some video. Any video?

mine plays back at 740X480 check your settings. Ok but lets forget about the numbers behind the video. How does the video look? Have you seen better quality? No I am not looking for what size yours plays or what the ###X### is, how is that video clarity and ability to show any features? Can you honestyly say or wait a minute provide cctv video that LOOKS like that? I am seriously curious to my max about if I am just not exposed to other dvrs capabilty to produce that. Forget the specs forget the other things besides the way it looks to you. How DOES IT LOOK?

ohhhh and heaven forbid you turn the dvr on without plugging in all your cameras first! (dedicated micros)

the only other support like that is pelco. Pelco will send someone the next day if we have any hold ups with our installs. But then again pelco gets alot of money from our miltary projects. I would to if I was them.

Maybe I have not seen what is out there. Maybe I that video is not as good as others. The only thing I ask is post some video of a dvr that beats that. I would be very interested in watching some video of a dvr that does better than that. Also post some contact info so I can get that dvr. I must be wrong if that video does not make your jaw hit the floor. I have been wrong many times in my life so I could be wrong on how this compares. If I am pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee show some video. Or heck show some video from one that even compares. Even that would suprise me. distorted? And no that was only on good. And that was a panasonic 484. Looks better than my camcorder. Atleast on my end. From good it goes high and then super. anyone else look distorted? Did you pull it in full screen?

the quality I had that set on was nothing. That was just to facilitate people with low bandwith. I am going to crank up the quality settings and let you see how this really goes. Give me about 30 minutes total.

i when a rep says something works good I dont take that to heart very much. I take someone who's actually had first hand experience in installing this in a real world application very seriously.

playback green? I am not sure what you are talking about. Do you meen green the whole time and completely green? Or just a green tint? And by the way the only person who should be slapped is the person who attacks a person for just being honest. I dont know how every one else feels but I personally welcome an honest any day. Regardless if it is against what everyone else says. Dont hold back any honest opinions. Those are the ones that are most valuable.

now military is way more than 2,000 a camera. And only the camera. no housing nothing. Wish it was that way in the real world

i have had a much worse experience with dedicated micros. Their support is snooty as snooty comes. Especially the one girl who is the lead tech. Also I sent in a dvr that the os just suddenly went out after 2 months. They told me that if we sent it in however we sent it (overnight, 2 day air)they would send it back the same way in 48 hours. Well a month later I finally got them to call me back and admin they lost the dvr. so I told them "ok, **** happeans, send me a new one." Oh well I cant do that I have to get approval from my manager( i was already talking to a manager. ) So a week later I get the old "lost" dvr back and no one knows how that happeaned because no one has any record of it even being repaired or sent. Whatever that was the last time I used DM

no not just a camera. that is an average over the whole system. Cameras, recorders, labor, accessories, and whatever else. So If they say they are looking for about 10 cameras then they have a figure in their mind of how much it may cost. We install mace cameras but in no way is that all we install. Most people are willing to pay for maces higher end cameras. But if they will pay for panasonic, extreme, pelco, then we install it. It's all about what they are willing to pay for.

Man I finally got upgraded all of my computers ( 2 desktop and 2 laptops ). And am extremely pleased with my investment. total was over almost $10,000. Man these computers are rippin compared to my older 2 years old computers. Worth every freaking penny. Anyone else working on old slow computers?

exactly what securitymonster said. I really dont even bother with people that are not willing to pay for the service they will want you to provide later. Lets just say for conversation you marked your cameras all the way to 100%. And you were able to net after the whole system is installed 1,500. Do you know how fast you can eat that up in troubleshooting some strange problem 6 months down the road? And after taxes and overhead......man those cheap jobs are not even remotly worth it to me. (numbers were just pulled out of the air and were no way an estimated profit) What i will do before I even go any farther than the first phone call is tell them they can expect between 1600 and 2200 average per camera for the entire system. If they cant afford that I wont bother. But then again that is only the way I personally do it. And I dont want you to think that is what you should necessarilly do. Those jobs may work for you. That is just want I personally would do in that situation. You Get What You Pay For. That goes for you and the end user.

Man 150 dollars a camera............................................I would have to excuse myself before I laughed right there in front of them. All joking aside that is pretty cheap. I would re approach them and explain to them that they can either pay for it now or pay twice as much later. If they go cheap on a camera (especially outdoor/vandalproof) then they cant expect a whole lot out of it. Man you cant even get a system at sams club for that cheap. And that is as cheap as they come. My advice: Re approach and educate them on what they would get or not get for 150 a camera. I personally would walk away from that job.
