70,000 is not what I pay. Ya and you are right about the 2 miles thing rory but what it cant do is alarm based off of a temperature change on a certain point/line determined off the softwares user that is 2 miles away. Think about if you did that off motion detection from a ccd camera and a dvr???? You would be alarming all night and day! Not practical. Also IR's can see 2 miles in complete fog, hard rain, or snow. They can see only at 2 miles and nothing else farther or closer. Also the facial recognition will be handled with GVS1000's. Thermal to find anything not able to be detected by Active IR's. And the Active IR's will be used in conjunction to compliment the system by providing a clean image once found and able to be found

ya i checked out flir and their systems and products and had a guy fly out here show me the stuff they could do. Well I was not impressed. Especially the with the software. Not much you could do. With Mikron we can do all kind of specific customized user defined areas on the screen that are monitored by a threshold defined by the end of user of the min and max of the temp range calibrated down to a thousandth of a pixel. And many other reasons of support. Experience and application integration. (that rhymed). Oh no that 30 second interview on tv of Al Sharpton has warped my fragile little mind.

they dont do thermal imaging. Only active IR's.

extreme does not make thermal cameras. Ganz. um. Let me put this in a way you can understand Do you know how you laugh when people talk about china and quality? For this application, that is the same way I laugh when ganz and thermal imaging cameras are mentioned. By the way because of the Security and High profile confidential information that pertaned to this project I could not broadcast all the video we used in testing and demonstrating this camera. But I do have some video you can see http://70.238.61.70 username:user password:user Do a search for 2/9/05 at 6:58pm-7:15pm on Channel 5. Halfway thru it you will see yours truly go out there and goof around. Its pretty fascinating. That particular camera retails for about $70,000. So I will start taking orders immediatly after this post is posted. Enjoy

The company is Mikron IR. There is only 2 public trading Thermal Imaging companys on the market. FLIR and Mikron. Being this is going to be atleast 1 maybe 2 million dollar project I did my research on both companys. Turns out FLIR does not provide any warranty on their equipment after 30 days. If anything goes wrong it cost about 35,000 to repair. Thats rediculous when we are talking about 150.000 dollar cameras each easily. Mikron has a good reputation and did not hear any complaints. They have the largest customer base for a variety of applications. And yes it does provide a ccd camera that provides a 24/7 shot of the same FOV. But right above these cameras will be pelcos ptz package I have talked about before. That will be able to quickly zoom in on any specific object. This without any person even manning the cameras. All done by object sensing with the thermal cameras

shoot i dont care if you think I am straight or transvestite humping midget. Funny thing is my brother is actually the one who got really drunk in a new orleans bar and was out on the dance floor getting his groove on with some hunnys and proceeds to another girl who wanted in the action. Remember this he is absolutly wasted and barely actually what you would call "dancing". So anyways he is gettting down with this..................well at the time looked like a very different woman than all the other girls on the dance floor. But my brother is hammered and just booty shaking getto humpin on the floor with this........thing. And we were trying to wave to him not to and giving the universal sign for "cut it". But it did not sink in. Until she moves around and dances behind him......and then he finds out! Oh the look and his face was worth an amount that we cant even comprehend. Oh ya so we still rag him about that. So he thought it woudl be funny to try to use it on me. But its not as funny. Because I did not freak dance with a freaky man on bourban. Oh we will be 80 and I will always remind him -

sensitivity question on pan wv 474 f dome camera
jisaac replied to sf1964's topic in Security Cameras
if you have it on fixed the agc is turned off i am sorry i did not read the full thing you originally posted if you want it to switch between color and black and white as soon as possible you need to set the duration as far to the left as possible on the bw mode of auto1. Then move your sens to 10x. Try that and if you get what looks like to much movement on the screen the adjust the sens back down to like 4 -

i would keep your sens on x4 unless your auto1 on b/w has the duration set on the higher end (farther right on the scale) -

so i called that sheriff and asked him some questions that "challenged" some of his statements. Needless to say he was not pleased with me second guessing his knowledge in surveillance application and use. He told me that he thinks that only drug users would use surveillance on their house. And that the radioshack cameras are "high tech advanced cameras". He also said that those cameras were able to see someone coming up the road 100+ft away! I explained to him that he was wrong and that was an exaguration. Also that obviously they were not effective in the least bit because the guys never new they were coming. After that he told me to watch my tone and then i heard the inevitable "click. Ahhh poor sheriff he got his feelings hurt -
focus it under very low light situations or get the domes cover and take the plastic out and then stick it up to the lens and it wont cover the whole casing. So that way you can still focus it and have the plastic covering the lens. Then just put the plastic back in the dome cover and screw it on. works for me

that really all depends on what your other settings are on. List the settings under the camera menu as you have them right now. Also what kind of lighting conditions are they? Any dark shadows? Or extreme lighted portions? Any times when the light situation changes all the sudden? Or is it a constant level lighting?? Those panasonic cameras are extremely exact/specific in the way you can adjust the cameras for different applications. I love them now I figured out that they are not like any other camera so you cant compare when adjusting -
nope i am in dallas right now. I wont be back until wedsday.
