I had a 1 in 6 out video distribution hub. I prefer the ones that you can manaully adjust certain parts of the picture. I would definitly get a powered hub. Especially if you are getting a good plasma. You would tell a difference. -

I thought of one I could mention but cant get to detailed. But just to make sure i am not saying to much publicly, if you pm me and if you are not new to the forum I will tell you then the location of this job. ok more than 10 Pelco es30pc series positioning systems covering a several mile stretch that was sent back to a room. in the control room there was 4 42"plamsas. 2 to your left and 2 to your right. and in front of you was a 100" projection screen with a hd projector projecting the video on to the 100' screen. now these cameras were all about 140 feet in the air. So when you picked a camera to position you pulled up the camera shot on all of the monitors (5 total). So you were surrounded by your cameras view. And you could zoom and pan and play with these cameras like you were actually moving yourself. It was like a expensive virtual reality. -
sorry if i am repeating what someone said. I did not read what peoples reply was. But anyways the bw burst on those cameras are actually the color being alowed into a bw shot. Ya know how sometimes in bw shot you have some parts that are color? Thats what that is. I usually leave it off.

with the 484 it is best to set it during the day and have you preset set for during the day. Then come back at night and set the preset for night. That is the best way to get the absolute best. 2 presets. is the way to go. I have dealt alot with those. oh ya I have had the best luck with 1.4 but that does not matter due to environmental diffrernces.

I wish that I could talk about a few installs we did but because the Agency we did them for I cant. It probably would be able to top yours. Its kind of like winning the lottery and not being able to spend a dime of it. -
go cat 5 has more twist. Also definitly go active because you wont run into ground loops which passive are so commonly known for. Cat 6 is a pain. My recommendation. Passive Transmiiter Active Receiver CAt 5 Also how are you powering your camera?

I would have to say 80% to 90% of my business is referralls. But i have a plan and implement it to get those. But ya in order to do that I have to provide excellent customer service. Usually what we do is if and when we set them up online I will reserve a administrator password for myself and also enable the remote managment function on their router/firewall/gateway or whatever. So in the instance they need something figured out in relation to settings and software funcitions I will do it from the office or my house. If we have to go out anytime past 60 days we generally charge 65 an hour we are out there. But we do give a whole hell of a lot of freebies out that we should charge for.

Has anyone used the camera master from FM Systems? is it worth it? I was thinking about getting some wanted to see if anyone had any feedback.

I have a brother that is working with me. I have him mainly because he is a financially minded person and I am not that great at doing the books. So that is his job title. But he is also helping out on installs and trying to learn. He is in NO WAY a technical person. So he gets extremely frustrated when he does not understand things during the install. And then he gets pissy. So I am trying to educate him faster (because the way its going right now he is not learning much). So has anyone tried the STAM MULTIMEDIA online CCTV course? I need to start him off with really basic stuff. And need him to learn alot. (he is pissing me off). Any thoughts or suggestions?

4 channel cctv for condo unit help
jisaac replied to griffonsystems's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
a modulator. But you wont want to do it far enough up the cable so everone could see it (not sure how that place is set up). But you can put it anywere at the point of entrance into the condo by the cable companys wire. I believe spy town makes some http://www.spytown.com/tv06.html -
man i wish my end users took a tenth of the initiative to educate them selves on the products as you do. Because if not I get a bunch of questions like in the post "what is the stupidest question asked to by a customer". Oh which by the way I have one that tops them all I think. We installed a 32 camera system for a womans clothing store. And when we put our dvr's online we will log in about once a week to make sure cameras still look good. And everything is still operable. Well this location did not want a monitor at first. So about 2 months later she said she wanted one and asked if we had her's. I was like , " no we do not have a monitor of yours"?!?!?!? And she asked well how do you watch the cameras from your office? I was like, "over the internet". You have to understand. It is 22 miles between that store and our office. That would be one hell of a cable run!

he is in no way technically inclined. Thats the problem.

I need help guys, dont know which camera to get!!
jisaac replied to camera714's topic in Security Cameras
glad you like it. i figured you would. -
its all about how this company installed ptz domes on street corners before the hurricane in new orleans. and how alot of them made it.
-
what?
-
hey check out the new sdm magazine page 80. Exactly what you are looking for.
-
that sounds about right
-
I also would agree on the fact of not installing the real cheap cameras. To much work with a cheap camera. But then again I have done alot work on adjusting the panasonic SDIII's. It is just hard to get those dang things right at both day and night.

no an ad was not placed in the paper. I was just making a point on not keeping a tight lip on a patent until it is issued.
-
shoot that is hilarious. Now that was a lawsuit just waiting to happean. ( 1st one )
-
in arkansas that would still be illegal if they are not installing for the company that they work for. And you would have to pay the company not the technician. Now that is arkanas. They are strict here.
-
in arkansas its a class D felony for every install done. Just ask the guy I used to work for before I started my own company
-
I think you are going to have a hard time getting a patent on that. And if your patent was really pending you would be an idiot to be even saying a word about it. Then again..........well......nevermind. I have seen a company out of dallas that has been doing just that for years. I dont think you are the first one to think of that. Come over here to little rock and we have highway construction going on everwhere. And guess what is on the side of the road???????????? Oh wow! Look! Why its cameras on poles are solar powered and transmitted wirelessly to another location where it is recorded! Oh my I should go try to get a patent on that! But wait, before I do that I am going to publish an ad in the newspaper explaining how it works and exactly what I am going to do! Brilliant!

Well yes that is do able. But need a litle more info than what you gave. What type of camera do you have? What type of illuminator? What is the angle/measuments of the shot? The extreme uf500's are great. But need more info to help you out further.
