Brain overload.."red alert...red alert"
jisaac replied to robzee67's topic in General Digital Discussion
It all comes down to what can the person you are selling these to afford? What I would sell to the united states air force I would not sell to a gas station. Also do you think that a gas station needs what the air force needs? It all comes down to: What can they afford & What do they need? Yes there are some you need to stay away from. But like rory said. There are low end, mid, and high end. Figure out what category the people are mostly likely needed/wanting and then go from there on the different manufacturers. -
when I first got into this industry I started for a guy who provided a year parts and labor warranty. The main reason why he went out of business was trying to fulfill those warrenties. What we do is 90 warranty on the installation and 1 year warranty on the equipment. But also make sure you have them sign something at the beginning saying what your warranty does not cover.
-
it all breaks down to does your product fit their needs? Price is always a big concern. Usually the biggest. But if you can clearly explain how what you have chosen fits their needs usually you can be higher and still get the job. We are always the highest bid around here. And alot of people end up going with us. I am just glad i have a background in sales. Read tom hopkins series books. They are great.

the only difference between this one and the old ones is that the DIII is turned on. Oh ya and the sun was not stairing in the front of the housing. Like i said that was not a good shot for comparison. I will post some more once I get my kids in bed and get a chance to.

Ok I have got some of these newer cameras set up looking better The number 1's are mace cam 68 and the number 2 is Panasonic sdIII 484 1 1 2 1
-
the mace 68's although very good at color reproduction. Its kind of a not very fair comparision because the pano has the sun blairing right into the front of the housing. while the other cameras are tilted towards the ground.
-
sorry i had to get my 3 year old to run around the house and then had to take the pictures and publish them. ok that was the panasonic 484 that was the mace cam 68. dito

Mace has there strength's and their weaknesses just like everyone else. I think the only thing that they could do better on is their support. They do need to hire more people. Maybe even give longer support hours of operation. Their products on the other hand are very good especially for the price. They are easy to get, easy to install, and good for several different applications. I deal with alot of the major manufacturers like pelco, panasonic, and for their price they are hard to beat. Now when you start comparing Pelco to Mace. I have to honestly say Pelco blows mace away for their support and overall product selection. But then again how many business's will pay for Pelco? Not a whole lot. Mostly united states military are the ones who will fork over that kind of money. So that goes back to what is affordable enough for the average business while still maintaining a level of quality. I think mace does a good job of that. For the price its hard to get what they provide. Rating Mace Quality 7.5 Reliabilty 7 Support 5 Affordabilty 10 Ease of set up 9 Product availabilty 10 Rating Pelco Quality 10 Reliability 10 Support 10 Affordabilty 1 Ease of set up 4 Product availabitly 8 If people could afford pelco. I would stick with them. But most cant.

well the better ones have atleast dual beams that pulse. And you set how long the beam has to be broken. If you tinker with them enough you can minimize your alarms. With the dual beams they both have to be broken so the bird thing is non existant. Atleast it has been for us in all the applications we have done.
-
I have experience in using the optex photoelectric beams to secure a perimiter. They work great. Easy to align. But alot of work when you have to secure a building thats not close to anything so you have to dig trenches. But over all it works great. Only false alarm we have had was when one of our wires got pinched and showed a short. So one false alarm in 11 months is not bad.

A LOT OF THESE CAR DEALERS OVER HERE HAVE HAD THESE CAMERAS INSTALLED OUT ON THE FARTHEST PART OF THE LOT MOUNTED ON THESE LIGHT POLES. WHO EVER INSTALLED THESE, WHAT ARE THEY DOING TO GET IT OUT THERE? I AM GUESSING THEY ARE RUNNING FIBER WITH IT BEING SO CLOSE TO THAT HIGH VOLTAGE. BUT HOW WOULD THEY RUN THAT FIBER WITHOUT TEARING UP THE EXISTING CONCRETE? ( I KNOW THEY DID NOT ). DO YOU THINK THAT WHEN THAT PLACE WAS BUILT THEY RAN EXTRA CONDUIT AND JUST LEFT IT IN THE INSIDE OF THE POLE? ANY ONE WITH INFO FILL ME IN.

i would not do the picture thing and say this is what you will see. Because you are going to get some azzhole that will not see a corner that may have been in the picture and make a fuss about not providing what you said. And how about factors that you run into during the install you did not know where there? What if for some reason you had to mount the camera 6 feet down? What if there was a reflection at 7:33 pm until 8:22 pm that you did nnot know about? I would do the visio as previously stated. Works great.

Ok I thought I would start a thread that we can all pitch in on and we can make a compilation of cameras shots by different manufacturer names, manufacturer models, and anything and everything that someone can look on here and see what a camera they are looking into really looks like in application. So I will start it and will add more on when I have more time. Now the rules are is you have to List the Manufacturer of the camera. And also which model number it is. The more info on the camera the better. Dont even bother posting a picture of a shot if you are not going to list what kind of camera took it and who made it. So here we go. Man that is one Handsome Dude! Must have been one of the models they hired for that photo shoot that day. INFO: LOCATION: A HIGH SECURITY LUXURY CAR STORAGE AREA CAR: 2006 PORSCHE FULLY LOADED OK, YA THAT IS MY BACK YARD AND YA THIS IS MY GO CART. HEY DONT LAUGH. I HAD TO DO SOMETHING THE DAY I BOUGHT THE 2 NEW HONDA 4 WHEELERS WITH HITCHS AND FRONT AND BACK FULL SIZE RACKS AND BUILT IN GPS. MY WIFE WAS ONE HOT SUN OF A *** THAT DAY! YA SHE WAS PISSED. SO I GOT THE GO CART FOR THE "KIDS" SO THEY CAN RIDE IN SOMETHING. SO REALLY I GOT THOSE FOR "FAMILY TIME". SO ACTUALLY I WAS THINKING OF THE KIDS WHEN I GOT THOSE FOUR WHEELERS. SO NOW YOU KNOW IF MY WIFE EVER ASK OK PANASONIC CP484 SDIII SUPER DYNAMIC COLOR CAMERAS. 1ST 2 SHOTS ARE NO LIGHTS ON AT ALL! NOT BAD. 1ST SHOT HAS THE AGC ON MEDIUM. AND 2ND SHOT HAS IT ON MAX. 3RD SHOT IS MY BACK PORCH LIGHT ON. 4TH SHOT IS ME WALKING TOWARDS MY 10 O CLOCK POSITION. THAT WOULD BE THE 4 O CLOCK POSITION IF YOU ARE LOOKING AT THE PICTURE. I WAS THOROUGHLY DISAPPOINTED IN THE INABILITY TO GET A STABILIZED SHOT OF MY FACE IN MOTION. I WAS WALKING AT MEDIUM/SLOW CASUAL WALKING PACE. OTHER THAN THAT THE RESOLUTION IS GOOD AND LOW LIGHT SITUATIONS IS NOT A PROBLEM AT ALL. MY BACK YARD WITH NO LIGHT ON IS VERY DARK. SO GOOD RATING ON THAT. OK WHO IS NEXT?

oh ya and to all you gun control advocates that just goes to show how if that jewerly store owner was able to carry a concealed weapon then he could have pointed that thing directly at his face and told him to drop the jewelry and that whole sceen would have been ended without all the ass beatings.

Help a newbie before I waste money one ebay (Shopping list)
jisaac replied to RichTJ99's topic in Security Cameras
stay away from ebay!!!!!!!!!! I promise you, you want to go through a established business. Just so you dont think I am trying to sell you by saying that statement, go through some one in here that works for a surveillance/security business. I am sure that someone in here will be glad to help you out before and more importantly give you the support AFTER the sale. -
10 THINGS U USE UR SURV. SYST. 4 OTHER THAN "SECRTY''

oh ya and the president should be held responsible for his slow reaction time to the incident. Because as kanye west says, " george bush does not care for black people". So he must not care for people who just want to "touch something they never get to touch, so let them touch it for once" as said by Celine dion. I love it when they open their mouths and make us rollover in our chairs laughing at their stupidity. -

#10: knowing when that raccoon man beast of my neighborhood goes for my trash. Then I pull out the sling shot and the premium heaviest B B's and let Mr. Raccoon know who's boss! Well atleast of my trash can. #9 Catching my wife spinning her"wheel of fortune" (thermostat) and lying about it as if she doesnt know what I do for a living. #8 Knowing when the wife comes back during the middle of a work day, so that I can pretend like I was not playing XBOX live. Especially when she had to take the kids because I told her I had to work on somethings while she goes out. #7 knowing where my kids placed my wallet and business credit card. #6 Seeing my mother in law and her other half my "father in law". So I can spare myself of the way a full bird cournel in the army who happeans to be a JAG, who I would love to see him get a #$# RIGHT UP .....WELL YOU UNDERSTAND. #5 making sure no one is at my door before I run to my laundry room (seperate from my house) in my underwear to get my clothes for the day. #4 knowing where my snacks really went off to. #3 Finding out which one of my kids gets the spankin. #2 keeping those 14 year old "hommies" away from my car and my four wheelers they keep watching as they walk by and then look at the cameras. As if they did not see those cameras every day for the past 9 months I have lived here. #1 keeping my ADD mind from losing my car key's for more than 6 minutes every morning and then again at night. Because I do that ALL THE TIME! IT GETS ANNOYING. BUT THEN I GET DISTRACTED. SO I DONT GET ANNOYED TO LONG. -
