    HDD or PSU problem?

I would go for the power supply. I have seen many of them fail, mostly on low end DVRs, they cut so many corners to get a cheap product on the market... The power supplies over time loose eficiency, and the first thing that will fail is the hard drive. Check out your power supply, it will probably be something like 12V 2A. Get another one, it might even be is with a few extra A.

    Black and white 1080p cam

Your DVR seems to support both AHD and TVI, check if the channels are configured accordingly to the cameras.
  5. So you want to copy+export to AVI a month worth of video in just 5 hours? How many cameras? What resolutions/bitrates? How many Gb/Tb? How many hours worth of video? If you don't give any more relevant info, maybe your solution is to just swap out hard drives/DVRs.
  6. Define "fast"? You want to copy one month worth of files, and convert them on the fly to AVI format, maybe up to 2Tb of data. You want it done in 5 minutes? 5 hours? 5 days?
  7. Not without more info, like how you access the device.
  8. Yes, you can change this. From iVMS-4500 and from web access.

    Black and white 1080p cam

Make sure those are TVI cameras on a TVI DVR. If you connect AHD camera to TVI recorder, you will get black and white image.
  10. You need a camera with WDR.
  11. Just a comment; if you edit the image to remove the serial number, you might as well also remove the QR code... since it is also the serial number. Can't help with your problem.
  12. Contact whoever sold you the DVR or the manufacturer and ask them what program you need to use for mobile access.
  13. The first screenshot you are posting is NOT from a Hikvision DVR, so you will not get it working with iVMS-4500. Check out your DVR documentation to know what program you have to use.

    1080p IP Sensor Types

Sure, if you are in the middle of nowhere with noone else around that uses wifi. Otherwise you might not even have those 48Mbps. Or you might have them today, but not tomorrow.

    1080p IP Sensor Types

The wifi spectrum is not yours, unless you live in the middle of nowhere with no neighbours. You might have the needed bandwidth today, but not tomorrow.

Looking for the correct TVI DVR.

The DS-7208HGHI-SH is a good option. And of course it is 1080p real time viewing (if you are seeing just one camera full screen, that is). It is only 12fps recording, if you wanted 25fps you would need DS-7208HQHI-SH, way more expensive (and with more options, besides 2x more fps).

2 Short questions for Dahua NVR owners

Yes to both, you can choose what channels are triggered when there is an alarm input.

What are your thoughts about the cameras i bought?

When buying Hikvision from Aliexpress, Ebay, Amazon, etc, you have to know what you are dealing with. Hikvision builds/sells for their domestic market (China) and for export market (the rest of the world). Domestic (chinese) market products are cheaper; they have been hacked so they will have english interface, but it can not be upgraded (easily), doing so will brick the device, or you will end up with a chinese device. You will have no warranty, you will get no support from Hikvision, so if you mess up something, it is up to you to fix it.

What are your thoughts about the cameras i bought?

It is a stock simple lens. You're suppose to buy your own lens later on. I've a bit of an issue with this one. When I over expose the lens to outdoors light, I get spots in the image. Do you think you could tell what is causing this, if I provide a picture? Maybe I need to do a through cleaning. That is an indoor camera. I don't need the ptz at the moment. I only want to get picture, so do I still need a controller? How do I do that? Didn't read the instruction manual yet but they seems pretty complex, and I don't have all the parts. If you only need video, just power the camera, and connect the video output wherever you want. What will be the minimum equipment that i need to make it work? Is it like analog? Is there a pc card? You will need a AHD capable DVR. You will not find any PC cards. I mostly bought this one for the lens to tell you the truth, as it has auto iris. Figured I might be able to use it with the other box camera that I have, if it turns out to be compatible, and it might be cheaper than buying the lens alone. An analog standard resolution lens on a 3MP camera. Great idea! No, just kidding. That idea is as good as buying a Ferrari with a broken motor, and then buying an old Fiat so you can reuse the motor to fix the Ferrari. Those 6 cameras are nowhere close to being a "system". They are hardly individual cameras, since it is mostly outdated junk to toy around with.
  21. +1, forget about that PTZ.

What are your thoughts about the cameras i bought?

So you bought: - A camera IP box with a lens that does not seem to suit you. - A consumer grade Foscam IP camera - A fisheye IP camera that probably will only be useful with the manufacturer own software - An analog zoom module with a PTZ mount that you will not be able to get to work and you have no controller for - An AHD camera that you will have nowhere to connect to - Another box analog camera It is like you went to a garage sale, picked up whatever was around, and threw it into a box without even worrying if the products work toguether (or even if they work at all). If you just want some toys to play around or some fake cameras to hang around your home/business, you are ok. If you want to end up with a decent system for home/business, my guess is that luckily you might end up using one or two of all those cameras; but you will probably do better buying all new when you are done playing around with those.

What are your thoughts about the cameras i bought?

You did buy junk. But hey, if you just want to play around, go for it. You will not do anything with an AHD camera if you do not have an AHD recorder to connect it to.
  24. What camera? If it is a 3 axis camera (most of them), just rotate the sensor, and do not make a software rotate.
