  1. Not much you can do besides talking to them. Their house, their rules. They can have a camera anywhere they want as long as you know it, unless there is some law in your country which specifically prohibits so. When you do want that privacy, you might just put some tape on the lens on the camera, and remove it afterwards. Maybe they will get the idea.
  2. Your router does NOT support NAT loopback. So you can only access your HiDDNS domain from outside your wan. Try connecting from another place, you will not be able to connect to http://www.hik-online.com/whatever from inside the network where the DVR resides.

    Ip camera issues

No idea on what a "ped" is. Your problems are networking issues. There are maximum cable lengths you are not supposed to go over (yeah, 275 feet I would say, about 90m). If you need lengths over that, you need to put "something" in the middle (a switch is what you want usually; that means you need to have power on that point too). I would advise against repeaters, but I am sure there is many people using them happily. You would be having problems also if you were using wifi antennas, IP phones, or whatever, your network is not functioning ok.
  4. Use a POE splitter, and from the output power you can power both camera and microphone.
  5. Make sure you choose the option to auto switch between sub-stream and mainstream. That way when you are seeing many feeds at the same time you will be using the substream, when you double click to make a stream full screen it will switch to the main stream. You have a bottleneck somewhere, probably CPU or network. Nothing that can not be solved by doing the right configuration.
  6. And where is the software installed? On the DVR. So what do you have to do if you want to change the software? Change the DVR. I am quite sure that you will get some recommendations, and most of them will tell you to go either Hikvision/Dahua, or any of their rebranded units.
  7. This won't be good news for you, but: 1 - The motion detection is done by the DVR. 2 - Nope. 3 - If you want something different, you will have to change the DVR. You can keep using the same cameras.
  8. There's plenty of HDTVI equipment on the market; Hikvision is just the biggest manufacturer, but there are a lot more. Hikvision did not invent the HDTVI standard, Techpoint did. http://www.techpointinc.net/about_us.html "... This new technology drew rave reviews and was heavily adopted by tier one video surveillance manufacturers worldwide including Hikvision, AVTech, IDIS, TVT, and hundreds of others."
  9. With Hikvision you can do so locally (screen+mouse attached to the unit) and remotelly with iVMS-4200 (not so nice). It can't be done from the web interface, hopefully they will add it sometime.
  10. WD1 resolution is for analog. With IP cameras it will record up to 5MP.
  11. http://www.hikvision.com/europe/Products_accessries_225_i6386.html DS-7608HI-ST records up to 16 ch total (8ch analog + 8ch IP; you can keep changing the analog channels until you end up with 16ch IP). Analog resolution is limited to WD1, but IP channels resolution can be up to 5Mpx.
  12. By default they come with 192.168.1.64. If you do not have a router/DHCP server on the netwotk (which you do not, if you only have a switch, cameras, and your computer), you will need to set up manually an IP on your computer that matches that subnet, 192.168.1.x. Otherwise you will not be able to access the cameras.
  13. It could, and it is the problem.

    6 Camera Home Security System...

A lot of work went into that PDF, I love it! Good job! " title="Applause" /> " title="Applause" /> " title="Applause" /> Just a note; on the picture on the DRIVEWAY-I/FRONTDOOR cameras, that installation is not up to the standards of the PDF I think you could have used some protection on those cables/connectors (tubes/boxes). Also, those 2CD2032 cameras come with waterproof connectors for a reason, why use electrical tape and not those connectors? Edit: it is my guess that you cut the 2.1mm power connector from the cameras? I don't think that is a good idea, you void the camera's warranty (if you have any warranty at all), and you loose the ability to troubleshoot the camera if needed in the future using a power supply/battery. Your RJ45 connectors better be well protected, if they get damaged, bye bye camera! ( I have seen it happen) Btw; you might want to remove your address from iVMS... Or at least cover it on the PDF
  15. Trying to power 3 cameras over a single Cat5 pair, 80 meters. Good luck with that. One pair for video, and the other 3 pairs for power; that would be a good way of doing things if it was only for one camera. If you want to go up to 4 cameras, then use the 4 pairs for video, and use a different run for power.
  16. Running the power for 3 cameras on a single pair, that is your problem, and not the DVR.
  17. The camera has to be default so the NVR can activate it and auto configure it. Otherwise, you will have to configure the IP by hand, setup user/password on the NVR, etc. No way around this, cameras connected to the NVR POE ports have no internet access. Btw, 7108NI-SN/P only supports up to 2MP.
  18. Use a 5 ports switch with 4 POE ports (5 ports total; 4 of them POE). That way you can connect the 4 cameras on that switch, and have one extra port left for connecting the switch to your network. You will need to activate the cams by hand, configure the cameras (IPs, network, etc), and on your NVR disable 4 of the POE ports on the NVR, and add the cameras by hand.
  19. Slow network/internet connection/ipad wifi/whatever. Make sure you are using the substream on iVMS-4500, and if needed, lower the bitrate on the substreams.

    Surveillance system and Camera Advise

That is some good old crap you are recommending... HD-SDI? Just the fact that it supports hard drives "up to 3Tb", when there are already 8Tb drives on the market, should give you a hint.

    Seperate Screen for Each CCTV

That will probably be the easier route.

Camera that will txt me notifications?

Use a 3G/4G router so the camera has internet connection.

Hikvision HD-TVI Turbo Remote Viewing Help

Configure your device like shown here: http://www.securamente.com/como-conectar-a-tu-equipo-hikvision-usando-ivms-4500-y-hiddns-iphone-y-android/ For iVMS-4500 access you only need two open ports, RTSP and server.

Hikvision HD-TVI Turbo Remote Viewing Help

Disable UPnP. You have 10554 forwarded to 554, but your RTSP port seems to be 10554. So forward to the correct port. Configure the DDNS section on the NVR, and connect to it from internet using HiDDNS. You will never be able to access it with your private network IP (192.168.1.x). (or, you can go to www.whatismyip.com to see your public IP, and then try to connect to the public IP; you can also go to www.canyouseeme.org to make sure you have ports 8000 and 10554 correct).
