  1. Shows us a full resolution screenshot. If it is not good enough for you, well, you can only make the switch from 1280x720 to 1920x1080 if you want better resolution.
  2. DS-7208HQHI supports 8 HDTVI cameras and 2 IP cameras.
  3. Everything connected to the POE switch, if you do have enough ports (NVR, router and PC do not need to be on a POE port). PC and NVR could actually be coonected to the POE switch or router, but the NVR would make a lit more sense connected to the switch, so the network traffic from all the cameras does not have to go through both switch and router.
  4. You shouldn't have any problems.
  5. I was actually referring to OS X permissions, that iVMS-4200 ha access to write the downloaded files on the folder where it is being told to do so. But you should also check out permissions on the account you are using on the DVR, of course.
  6. That won't work, unless you get an NVR with 2 networks, which is not common. From the POE switch it has to go to the cameras, and to both the NVR and your router.
  7. Keep in mind you can configure the "main stream" for "continuous", "event" and "alarm". Unless you are recording continuous, make sure you also change the settings on event/alarm, because the continuous settings will have no effect on recordings triggered by motion detection. And use 25fps if your unit supports it, why use 20fps? Also, unless you DO have microphone on the unit, change it back from "video&audio" to just "video".
  8. 100mbps will be more than enough.
  9. Get another hard drive. The NVR and firmware have nothing to do here if you are not even able to get the HD working on your computer.
  10. Your problem is probably related to permissions; iVMS-4200 does not have access to write files on the directory where it is being told to do so.

    Hikvision HQHI box vs HGHI

    Go for HQHI!

    Baluns and Ethernet

What you are looking for is not a video balun, but an "ethernet over coax" adapter (or IP over coax). Something like this: http://www.axis.com/sk/en/products/media-converters/axis-t8640 Probably once you find out about the prices and headaches you will prefer changing all the cabling from coax to UTP.
  13. Well... If 16 cameras do the same, I will take a guess; the cameras are fine, the problem is with the power supply. The fact that the led lights up does not mean that it is supplying the right voltage.
  14. Can you connect to the camera with web browser correctly from building A? This is a 16ch POE port unit; maybe you need to disable one of the POE channels before you add a camera that is on the network, or otherwise the 16ch might be "used" by the POE ports.
  15. Well, that message should give you a good hint. It has nothing to do with the IP address of the camera. You have either used all the channels or bandwidth on the NVR. If you do have channels left (16), then you should probably check the bitrates on all the existing cameras, and lower them if needed in order to be able to add more.
  16. You have not forwarded 554 port? THat is RTSP, for video streaming...

    Audio on Failed

What camera is it? It does not have audio, but it has audio input?? If you are trying to use the RCA audio input on the NVR; nope, that will not work.

    Audio on Failed

Does the camera you have selected actually have audio? And is it enabled on the channel, is the stream video+audio, or just video?
  19. If you want more audio channels, you will have to either use many 4 video+4 audio units, or go for the higher range units. You do have units with 16ch audio, like HCVR7816.

    Hikvision 7104 issues

Again, what model? I would say DS-71xx NVR series are limited to 2Mp.

    Hikvision DS-7204 stops recording

If you have a way of powering the 3.5" HD externally, I would try it for a while to see if it solves the problem (I thbink it would). With somethiing like this, the one on the bottom right: DS-7204 has a non standard 4 pin power connector, so you would need a Hikvision power supply, or a normal power supply with 2.1mm connector and find the right adapter.

    Hikvision 7104 issues

What model do you have? Because if you do have a DVR, well, it does not support IP cameras. If it is a NVR, make sure the cameras are working at a resolution that is supported by the NVR.
  23. One audio channel can only be used with one video channel. There are some HDCVI cameras with integrated audio, and some with audio input. Even if the unit only has 4 RCA inputs, if it is 8 or 16 channels, you would be able to use 8/16 HDCVI cameras with integrated audio (that is, that the audio also goes over the coaxial cable).

    Hikvision NVR

Well, how about changing their names so you know what camera is each one? Doh. And no matter what name they have, you can have a 4x4 view, even if they are all called the same.

    Hikvision DS-7204 stops recording

What unit/DVR, and what hard drive are you using? I have seen that happen a few times when using a WD Green or Blue drive; never seen it when using a WD Purple. Some times changing the power supply for one with more AMPs helped. When it stops recording, if you access the hard drive config section, I am sure you will see that the unit either detects no hard driver at all, or it is giving error.
