A few ideas. - Try it without hard drive - Try it with the cover open, and make sure if there is a fan it is working, and that there are no heat issues - Reset the device to default settings - Try it with a new 12V 5A power supply

AVTech AVM459AP/F28F12, where to start?
Securame posted a topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I have a customer with 4 of these cameras and he knows nothing about them. He used to have a NAS as NVR, but has been long gone, and the cameras have been hanging on his house without doing nothing at all. Now he wants to get the system back to life, and I am trying to do so. I hope to bring him to Hikvision, with an NVR, some new cameras, and I would like to try and reuse the existing cameras (with ONVIF, at least for recording, even if I am unable to do motion detection). But I do not even know how to start with these units, and I seem to be unable to find any manuals on AVTech web site (he doesn't have any boxes, CD, manuals, or anything). The camera has a wire for reset. But even if I were to reset and bring it back to defaults, I would not know what is the default IP, or how to find it (something like SADP for Hikvision). Anyone that has used AVTech can tell me where to start? Thanks! -
AVTech AVM459AP/F28F12, where to start?

I am quite sure I already replied to this post with a "thanks" when you gave me the info, because it did help me out. No clue on why there is no post now, maybe somethjing broke on the forums, or maybe I had just posted somewhere else and the forum gave me the warning that I am posting too much and I need to wait, and I did not realise. So just in case, thanks again! -
us.hik-online.com trying to add cams. Device does not exist.
Securame replied to thedoc46's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Step 1: Enable DDNS Step 2: Choose "HiDDNS" Step 3: Type "www.hik-online.com" as "Server address" Step 4: Put whatever name you want as "Domain". Step 5: Save. If it saves ok, you are done. If you try to use a name/domain that is already in use by someone else, the camera will tell you, and you will need to use a different domain. No. Third and last time I say it, you do not even need to use hik-online's web page for this to work. -

You only need DDNS type, server address, and domain. That's why the other options are greyed out, they do NOT have to be filled up. You do NOT need to fill out anything else on the cam. You do not even need to create an account on http://www.hik-online.com for it to work. -

I have always used http://www.hik-oline.com, but feel free to test youself (I am from Europe). I don't know what serial number you tried to use on that last screenshot, but the serial number is 9 digits, not the full string. Also device domain name should be the same on the device, and on your hik-online account. -

You need to "enable DDNS", DDNS type "HiDDNS". Use "www.hik-online.com" as server address, and whatever name you want to use as "domain" (if it is already in use, it will tell you when you try to save). -

Did you actually configure DDNS on the camera to use HiDDNS? You do not actually need to register them on the web site at all; that is ok when you have many devices, so you get to see at a glance which one might be offline. -
Understood, so the problem is that even the DVR says it has 1920x1080, it is actually 1440x900? That is one crappy DVR then.
-
Have you tried connecting the DVR directly to a TBV that supports 1920x1080? I would say it will work. Are you sure that modulator supports 1920x1080?
-
Does your monitor/TV actually support 1920x1080? I do not think the DVR is the problem.

You could use VLC to "stream" your desktop in RTSP and record it on a NVR. SOmething like this (it is in spanish): http://www.securamente.com/como-realizar-streaming-por-rtsp-de-un-escritorio-de-windows-usando-vlc/ Keep in mind that with RTSP you will have no motion detection, so you will have to record continuous. I also found this software that is supposed to turn any desktop into a ONVIF camera, so it can be recorded easily from a NVR. I sent them a contact email a while ago, but they never repplied. http://www.screenonvif.com/ With VGA to analog converters you could also do it on the cheap, but you would recording with SD resolution; that works ok, but do not expect to be able to read small texts/details.

Please help. Need license plate # off this vehicle.

You should post the original resolution images. With a 352x240 resolution screenshot, there is nothing to do. -
Dahua CVI DVR Problem w/ Tour Feature
Securame replied to wmblalock's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Been there. You actuallt have to "untag" the parts of the cycle that you do not want to be on the tour. It is weird to explain, but that has happened to me too. And it was just a matter of configuring it right. Feel free to post picturs of the settings so I can try to help you. -

Port Forwarding is blocked / not allowed by ISP :(
Securame replied to qayyom's topic in Computers/Networking
Just in case, I will say it again: "You can try using EZVIZ." There is no need for fixed IP or port forwarding with EZVIZ. -
UTC (Up-The-Cable) controller for Hikvision Turbo HD system
Securame replied to deesal's topic in Video Transmission/Control Devices
You don't need it, if your cameras have OSD menus, you can access them from the web interface on the HDTVI DVR. There's no need for a UTC controller. -
Hikvision camera, what can I expect for day vs night?
Securame replied to Linwood's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I wasn't speaking about resolution, I know the images have been resized. I was saying that your night image looks like crap compared to a default camera, and your day image also looks like crap compared to a default camera. I would go back to defaults, and start from there. If your night time image looks like that on default, there might be something wrong with the camera. But you do have 3pc more, don't you? You should be able to compare. -

Hikvision camera, what can I expect for day vs night?
Securame replied to Linwood's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Those two images look both very bad. Either you have a bad camera, which would be strange if you say you have 4pc, or you are doing something wrong. Both a night time and a day time shot with a default 2CD2332 shoud look a lot better than those screeshots. In fact it seems from the night time shot that the led array is barely working. How are you powering the cameras? Have you waled to the cameras at night, and seen if the array led is on? -
