  1. Open the unit and see for yourself. But I think you should buy a better HD. You are recording 4 channels 24/7, and trying to playback at the same time. Makes sense that a cheap HD might not like that.
  2. What HDD are you using? If you have a slow HDD, that might indeed be the problem since you are trying to record all cameras 24/7.

PORT FORWARDING problem with new Router

    You need the device connected...
  4. Do you hear audio when you playbak on the camera's web interface? But do not have any audio when you download the recording? It should play fine with VLC if you do have Hikvision's codecs installed. Also, try it with Hikvision's player. Make sure you are actually recording the audio, the fact that you hear live audio does not mean it is being recorded. Also make sure you do have audio enabled on all streams. You have main stream, main stream (event) and substream. And you can have them be just "Video", or "Video+audio".

    IPCAMVIEWER->HIKVISION

RTSP port and SDK/data port. By default, 80/554/8000. Only with the web port you won't do anytning with IP Cam Viewer...
  6. Possible? It should be. Worth the effort? Probably not, unless you were looking at installing/selling hundreds or thousands of that unit, in which case you would talk with the manufacturer so they would integrate whatever drivers you wanted on the unit.

    16Ch Network DMR

Is there a way to do it? Yes. Is it worth it? No. It would be easier, cheaper, and way better to install a DVR in building 1.
  8. Can't help there, I have never used PCNVR.
  9. If you already have the system up and running, why not give it a try? You just need a wire to close the contact on the camera alarm input, and some time on your computer. I know it would be doable without any problems on a Hikvision NVR, and I trhink it should be doable too on a computer (I guess you are running iVMS-4200 PCNVR?)
  10. That many cameras with NO VIDEO, that probably means that a power supply has died somewhere. Find out what is (was) powering the cameras that have gone black, and you will probably find the problem.

1080 HD CCTV for 100 meter viewing.

Two weeks and you want to go for HDSDI...? I am sure that if you poll the forum between IP, HDCVI, HDTVI, and HDSDI, HDSDI will be the last option. In fact, probably noone will recommend you HDSDI.
  12. Control panel -> System configuration -> Image -> Auto change video stream If you leave it checked, iVMS-4200 will show you the substream of a camera when you are watching many video feeds, and when you double click the camera to make it full screen it will change to the main stream. If you leave it unchecked, then on the main view you will be able to choose what stream you want to watch. Just right click on a channel, choose the stream you want, and then drag it to an empty window.
  13. Use Hikvision's SADP tool, which is what you should have been doing from the start...
  14. Why stop at 16 cameras? Why not flash it for 32, 64, or just unlimited cameras? Profit!
  15. Check this out: http://www.hikvisioneurope.com/portal/index.php?dir=Integration%20and%20Development%20Materials/00%20%20%20CGI/ Take a look at "HIKVISION CGI IPMD V1.5.9.pdf" (IPMD = IP Media Device Management Protocol). Page 76 is what you are referring to. I used to have this working, but I just tried with our 7208HWI-SH and doesn't seem to work. RTSP should be working. You might want to make a program that connects with RTSP to the devices every 30 minutes, and gets a screenshot fromi the RTSP stream.

    Question about DVR setup.

You do need a PC or a tablet. A tablet would be the best option, having a computer turned on 24/7 jutst to see who is at the other side of the door wouldn't make much sense.
  17. I don't see Dahua reseller in my and border's country. I see local company, which is rebranding it and sell it 4x expensive... It is not normal situation. Then if there are no resellers, how do you expect to get any support...?
  18. You should be buying from a european source that gives you support.
  19. The NVR is not saving the recorded video on your desktop PC; your desktop PC is saving the video on your desktop PC. The NVR does not have any access to your computer hard drive, it is IMPOSSIBLE for it to save anything at all on your computer hard drive. If you are geting videos saved on your computer hard drive, you are either geting them because you have installed iVMS-4200 and told him to do so, or because you are recording them yourself from the NVR's web interface. What you say that the NVR records on your computer hard drive just can not be happening. If you do not have any recording on your NVR's hard drives is because you have not configured recording right.
  20. Will try it with Wireshark. Do you happen to know what is the default user/password for AVTech?
  21. Go to: Camera settings -> Schedule (I think that is the name, I have it in spanish). Do you have recording enabled for your cameras? Have you set up any schedules, so they record 24/7, they record on motion, or whatever? (well, we do know what the answer is, right? )
  22. I don't meen to be rude, but this is clearly a case of PBKAC. On the configuration tab you have plenty of things to configure. You have local config, which might (or might not) be where you are now, and you have remote config. I would bother on making screenshots and posting them, but I really won't do so if you don't even bother to post screenshots youself so we can point you in the right way.
  23. It is possible. You can use the NVR without a monitor. You can configure everything without the need of a monitor and mouse, if you know how to do it, which seems is not the case... Everything that can be set up on the NVR itself can also be set up through the web interface on the configuration tab.
  24. You should really take a look at the manual of your NVR to see how to configure the unit... Maybe try to hook it up to a monitor, and use it with a mouse? You are really confusing how to use the NVR, and how to record locally on a computer, so it might be good for you to remote the computer from the equation. Or post snapshots on what you are doing, and how, so we can get a laugh at you, but hopefully get you on the right track too
  25. EZVIZ does not record on dropbox or anything like that.
