Once both laptop and camera are on the same subnet, you can connect to the camera with a web browser, change the wifi settings on the camera so it connects to the new wifi network, and you are done

If it is using wifi now, you should have changed the camera config from the old wifi to the new wifi before geting rid of the old router. If the old wifi network is gone, and the camera only has a power connector (it does not have a network cable connected), then I think it is time to get a laptop and a ladder.

Well, if those lines had been there from day one, I would say you are using a rear view camera (you know, the ones you use on cars, trucks, etc). Maybe you turned on an option to display those lines somehow on either the camera or DVR?

You also have Hikvision player, so there's no need to convert the videos; and Hikvision codecs, so you just install them on your system, and use any regular video player.

A NVR does not encode the video; the camera does. So if you want to record a video stream with audio, you need a camera with audio input, and you need to connect the mic to the audio input on the camera, not on the NVR.

What app are you trying to use? How are you configuring it?

You do not have RTSP port forwarded. Check the ports you did open on your router, you need at least 3 of them, web, RTSP and data (by default, 80, 554 and 8000).

It can work with any magnetic contact. There are magnetic contacts with NO/NC option; and also you can choose on the camera config if the alarm is NO or NC.

Have you tried connecting the TV directly to the DVR? Just with a short BNC cable.

Any Dahua and Hikvision HD-SDI DVR should be able to do it. I think they don't have many models available, since they do not have many HD-SDI units on the market, they are mostly doing HDCVI/HDTVI.

No way a serial keyboard can send commands through standard Pelco protocol to a DVR/NVR. All keyboards that can connect the DVR/NVR are from same manufacturer as the DVR/NVR and use specific protocol to connect to it. Mmmmh guess it will be using HIKVISION protocol then, so a generic controller probably would not cut it.

Why would that recommendation be? Because the signal might not be strong enough if connection many RS485 cables on the DVR side? I have done this before a few times, and never had any problem, without using any data distributor.
