How can I connect Hikvision to wifi without a LAN connection
Securame replied to birte1's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Then if it does have a lan cable, you won't needing a ladder. Just plug your laptop on the other end of the cable. Since there will be nothing else on the network, you will need to configure manually the network on your computer, so it is on the same subnet of the IP camera and it can reach it. If your camera is, let's say, 192.168.1.50, you can configure your laptop with IP 192.168.1.1 / 255.255.255.0. There is no need for gateway or DNS servers, since you won't be going online. Once both laptop and camera are on the same subnet, you can connect to the camera with a web browser, change the wifi settings on the camera so it connects to the new wifi network, and you are done -

How can I connect Hikvision to wifi without a LAN connection
Securame replied to birte1's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
If it is using wifi now, you should have changed the camera config from the old wifi to the new wifi before geting rid of the old router. If the old wifi network is gone, and the camera only has a power connector (it does not have a network cable connected), then I think it is time to get a laptop and a ladder. -

I can't try locally with my Dahua now, but how about trying a "double click" on the video feed, to see if it goes to full screen?

strange red green and yellow lines?
Securame replied to jagbuilt's topic in General Digital Discussion
Well, if those lines had been there from day one, I would say you are using a rear view camera (you know, the ones you use on cars, trucks, etc). Maybe you turned on an option to display those lines somehow on either the camera or DVR? -
You also have Hikvision player, so there's no need to convert the videos; and Hikvision codecs, so you just install them on your system, and use any regular video player.

Using existing mic with new NVR system...
Securame replied to radzer0's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
A NVR does not encode the video; the camera does. So if you want to record a video stream with audio, you need a camera with audio input, and you need to connect the mic to the audio input on the camera, not on the NVR. -

I would say the short answer to that is no.

Use the main "admin" account, do not use a "user" account with limited access.

HikVision DVR won't work with iVMS 4500 properly
Securame replied to benzidirk's topic in Security Cameras
You do not have RTSP port forwarded. Check the ports you did open on your router, you need at least 3 of them, web, RTSP and data (by default, 80, 554 and 8000). -
Looking to Setup Alarm to Magnetic Contacts
Securame replied to Ozone's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
It can work with any magnetic contact. There are magnetic contacts with NO/NC option; and also you can choose on the camera config if the alarm is NO or NC. -
Video balun for DVR monitor output problems
Securame replied to hartawan's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Have you tried connecting the TV directly to the DVR? Just with a short BNC cable. -
Any Dahua and Hikvision HD-SDI DVR should be able to do it. I think they don't have many models available, since they do not have many HD-SDI units on the market, they are mostly doing HDCVI/HDTVI.

No way a serial keyboard can send commands through standard Pelco protocol to a DVR/NVR. All keyboards that can connect the DVR/NVR are from same manufacturer as the DVR/NVR and use specific protocol to connect to it. Mmmmh guess it will be using HIKVISION protocol then, so a generic controller probably would not cut it.

Multiple PTZ cameras RS-485 cabling
Securame replied to tgmagic's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Why would that recommendation be? Because the signal might not be strong enough if connection many RS485 cables on the DVR side? I have done this before a few times, and never had any problem, without using any data distributor. -
Multiple PTZ cameras RS-485 cabling
Securame replied to tgmagic's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
1) Cat5e should work. You just need two wires for RS485. 2) You can do it both ways. From DVR to each PTZ; or from DVR to PTZ#1, from PTZ#1 to PTZ#2, and from PTZ#2 to PTZ#3. 3) Yes, you can control the PTZs at the same time from both the joystick and the DVR.
