  1. You do not have RTSP port forwarded. Check the ports you did open on your router, you need at least 3 of them, web, RTSP and data (by default, 80, 554 and 8000).
  2. It can work with any magnetic contact. There are magnetic contacts with NO/NC option; and also you can choose on the camera config if the alarm is NO or NC.
  3. Have you tried connecting the TV directly to the DVR? Just with a short BNC cable.

    HD-SDI Encoder

Any Dahua and Hikvision HD-SDI DVR should be able to do it. I think they don't have many models available, since they do not have many HD-SDI units on the market, they are mostly doing HDCVI/HDTVI.

    Hikvision IP Keyboard Query

No way a serial keyboard can send commands through standard Pelco protocol to a DVR/NVR. All keyboards that can connect the DVR/NVR are from same manufacturer as the DVR/NVR and use specific protocol to connect to it. Mmmmh guess it will be using HIKVISION protocol then, so a generic controller probably would not cut it.
  6. Why would that recommendation be? Because the signal might not be strong enough if connection many RS485 cables on the DVR side? I have done this before a few times, and never had any problem, without using any data distributor.
  7. 1) Cat5e should work. You just need two wires for RS485. 2) You can do it both ways. From DVR to each PTZ; or from DVR to PTZ#1, from PTZ#1 to PTZ#2, and from PTZ#2 to PTZ#3. 3) Yes, you can control the PTZs at the same time from both the joystick and the DVR.
  8. http://www1.hikvision.com/cn/prgs_567_i6400.html http://www.hikvision.com//uploadfile/image/20141225015358740.PDF I would say that is a model only for local (chinese) market. I am not sure you would want to get that unit, unless you know chinese... It does look like a nice unit at a good price. They also have this one. http://www1.hikvision.com/cn/prgs_567_i6959.html
  9. That is just if you want to create an account on their web site. Then you can have many devices on your account, check their status, etc. You do not need to use that at all if you don't want to do so. If you like NOIP, just keep using it.
  10. It is stored on the NVR, DVR, IP camera, or whatever device you configure it. No idea on what else you are saying...
  11. You don't need static IP; google about "DDNS" or "dynamic DNS". If you do have an internet connection at least "decent", you should be able to see your cameras remotely.
  12. This has become one interesting thread

    Hikvision IP Keyboard Query

I think that can be done IF the NVR has RS485 port. You can connect the controller to the NVR, so the controller sends the camera commands to the NVR, and the NVR will send the commands to the IP cameras over the network. It is supposed to work with Hikvision's DS1003KI controller. No clue if it would work with other controllers.
  14. Thanks, so do I What was the problem ? I can see it being a problem if you need to pass the cabling through a hole, if you have to keep them inside a junction box (which would need to be a lot bigger), etc. I wonder what it is for...?
  15. Well 2CD2032F-I, it has a micro SD slot, which the 2CD2032-I does not... That alone is a nice upgrade!
  16. The user manual, that wonderful friend. Also, have you ever heard of Google before?
  17. Click+drag on the live view, and draw a rectangle!
  18. With older firmwares there was a screenshot URL, something like the following: http:///Streaming/channels/101/picture I think there must also be ways to do the same with newer firmwares. With SDK you can surely do it, but you would need to do some programming.
  19. What do you mean by "pull the images"? Download recordings? Or just get a snapshot at a given moment?

Port Forward a security DVR with new xfinity

So your router is 10.0.0.1 and you want it to forward a port to IP 192.168.1.122...? If your network is 10.x.x.x you need to change the DVR's IP to something on the same subnet. The router is telling you that the DVR's IP is not on the valid range; it should be something between 10.0.0.2 and 10.0.0.254.
  21. It should work if you are ok with just seeing each camera half of the time.

    Boosting Power

He is giving you not just the answer, but even explaining to you why. It should make you wonder who the jerk is around here. You should surely go find your answers somewhere else next time.

    Monitors?

Of course, if your monitor is 1280x720 you will not see any difference on image quality, unless you zoom in on the camera. But keep in mind that even if you see the images at 720p, if you record at a higher resolution, the better quality WILL be on ¡the recordings if you ever need it.
  24. Nice to see this solved, even if it took over a year.
