In case you are trying motion detection recording, try it with 24/7 recording.

Outbound SMTP Email alerts from Hikvision NVR
Securame replied to gabemcg's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I never had a problem with SMTP on any of the Hikvision devices I have used it (DVR, NVR and IP camera). I use mostly gmail for email sending. Maybe the email server you are using is being a little too picky? -
insane 10 site cctv display monitoring software problmes
Securame replied to lunchboxmonty's topic in System Design
Doesn't QVIS offer their own rebranded app? Maybe, just maybe, you can try to run both apps at the same time. So you can have one use 4 monitors, and the second app another 4. Or you might also try to run PSS and Smart PSS at the same time. -
Dahua camera with Hikvision NVR
Securame replied to gabemcg's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
That is a sure bet. I am not saying it won't work with Dahua IP cameras; it might. In fact, if you already have one, you should try it... But you need to add it on the NVR as ONVIF camera, and not as RTSP stream. -
If those zicom cameras are analog, you can do it, sure!

Dahua camera with Hikvision NVR
Securame replied to gabemcg's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hikvision NVR will not do motion detected on RTSP streams. So if you configure the camera as an RTSP streams, you won't have motion detection. You can try to get them working as ONVIF, which is how you should have done it from the start, but even there I am not sure if you will get motion detection working at all. -
insane 10 site cctv display monitoring software problmes
Securame replied to lunchboxmonty's topic in System Design
If that is a Dahua device, which I think it is, try PSS and Smart PSS. They support multi monitor (but I am not sure if they do support up to 9 monitors). -
I would open it, look up if there is battery on the motherboard, and replace it with a new one. Worth giving it a try.

You will need a computer with iVMS-4200, that way you can see on a single monitor all 16 cameras. You could also use some embedded device with Android. Or if a small screen suits you, just a tablet with iVMS-4500.
-
You can if on the new office you use a NVR instead of a DVR. With a NVR you could connect to the video streams of the DVR on the other office like if they are IP cameras. You need 4 cameras on the new office? Get a 8ch NVR with 4 IP cameras. Channels 1-4 will be the local IP cameras, chanel 5-8 will be the remote analog cameras on the remote DVR.

HikVision DS-7716NI-SP/16 - How to save Live View settings?
Securame replied to PatsRule14's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
You can do it with iVMS-4200. If you mean from a web browser; no, there is no way to remember the settings. -
Check out this one. Have fun trying to figure out what each cable in there does.

Use iVMS-4500, that's the app you are supposed to be using. I think iVMS-5060 is for chinese market.

Hikvision NVR will not record... "no enough space"
Securame replied to gabemcg's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
From the web interface on a computer? When you click on the "record" button on the web interface you are actually telling the web browser to make a local copy on your computer. So, you will record on your local HD, not the HD you have installed on the NVR. If you have not configured a directory on the local computer, and you are not running the web browser with administrator rights, it will give you an error since it is not able to record. -
Hikvision DS-2CD2432F-I (W) vs Dahua IPC-K200A
Securame replied to b166erobot's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Both are good units, and their specs are about the same. I have them and like them both. The only "pro" I can think that the 2CD2432 has is the IR led, while the Dahua has white led. It also has 3Mp sensor, but I use it at 2MP@25fps. If you are interested on push notifications, I would say go for the Dahua. Make sure you get the model you need (the one with POE does not have wifi). -
Go for 24AWG. If it is not worth it to return the cable you got, well, just use it and try yourself.

Hikvision wont record
Securame replied to duckegg1980's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
For manual recording on E: drive you must run IE or Firefox with admin rights. Otherwise they are not allowed to write outside of some user specified folders, they are not allowed to write anywhere they please on your hard drivers. Right click on IE/Firefox shortcut, choose "run as administrator". -
PSS is only for Dahua manufactured devices. So no, it will not work Geovision cameras. If Xvision are rebranded Dahua devices, it should work with them.
-
I would say go for HDCVI, 1080p (you also have 720p available, which will be a little bit cheaper). You will probably get the best quality for the price, and won't need to change all the cabling. If your coax is good, just replace the analog cameras for HDCVI cameras, and replace the computer for a HDCVI DVR.

Can't Access Dahua NVRX-16 From Outside of My Home
Securame replied to videocheez's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Just turn off and on again the unit, the account will be unlocked. If you try to log in several times with incorrect password, it locks you out I think for 30 minutes. Ports are fine, the UDP port does not reply. -

Securame replied to videocheez's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Mmmmh good point. I would have said if you are going to be viewing at all; but I just tried it now, and I can see video on Dahua without RTSP port forwarded. So I guess it sends video over TCP or UDP port. (with Hikvision and current firmwares I am sure that you don't get any video at all if RTSP port is not forwarded; I assumed it would be the same with Dahua) -

Securame replied to videocheez's topic in Digital Video Recorders
You are missing port 554; you should be forwarding it too. It is used for RTSP (real time streaming protocol), if you do not open port 554 you will not get video. HTTP port is 84; I do not know why you are forwarding 84 to 86, but that should not make a difference. TCP and UDP ports are 37777 and 37778, you are also forwarding 37776, but again, that should not make a difference. To be on the safe side, you should make sure that you are forwarding all ports in both TCP and UDP. Once you have all needed ports forwarded (84, 554, 37777 and 37778) you can test that they are indeed forwarded and responding with a port scanner. You can try: http://www.canyouseeme.org/ If you get to the login screen but get a "connection failed" message from IE, make sure you have the needed activex installed. -
2MP cameras vs 3MP cameras
Securame replied to smokingjoe's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
You gain a 50% resolution increase -
DDNS is faster when connecting. P2P is used for opening the connection; so we can connect to a unit that does not have forwarded ports. You need a server in the middle to do so. Once the connection is established, the data is sent from the DVR to you, it does not go through the server.

Problems with Hik-Online

Glad you got it working!
