  1. No way to tell you what you are doing wrong if you do not say how you are trying to do it...
  2. You are not doing it right. Of course you can. If you do not have the DDNS configured for hik-online, it will NOT let you register the device. As I said, it only allows you to register a serial number of a device that is ALREADY connected to hik-online. You can not just go and register any random serial number that might belong to someone else.
  3. Push notifications work great with gDMSS and wifi, mobile, 3G, GPRS, or whatever I have tried.

    Account locked 5 failed attempts

Seen it before And yes, it is better not to use the admin account unless you really have a need to do so.
  5. Again; check the DDNS section. The serial number does not belong to a device connected to hik-online.

Make sure that nothing is attempting to login all the time. Like, do you have PSS, DMSS; or any other software running somewhere? If you have it set up on a computer on the network, and you changed the password on the DVR, maybe as soon as you turn it on the software tries to connect with the old password, and oooops, user locked again. Also, you have two admin account by default. 888888/888888 and admin/admin. 888888 only works locally (monitor and mouse connected to the unit), admin can be used over network. If you messed up the "admin" account, you can use the "888888" account to change "admin" account's password.

    Account locked 5 failed attempts

That is a Dahua unit. It locks an account after 3 failed login attempts in a short period of time, you just need to wait I think 30 minutes. If the unit is near, just turn it off and on again. The account will be unlocked.

    Siamese Cable...audio?

I have seen Dahua HDCVI pinhole cameras, but only 720p; I think they do not have 1080p model.
  9. That means that the device (IP camera, I guess) is not connected to hik-online, so you can not register it. You are only allowed to register devices currently online, so you are not able to register (by mistake or intentionally) a serial number that belongs to someone else. Is the camera turned on? Does it have internet connection at that moment? Is the network configured correctly on the camera? It needs IP, subnet mask, gateway, and DNS servers. Is the DDNS section on the camera configured correctly to use hik-online? Once the IP camera/serial number is registered with hik-online, you will be able to add the device.
  10. What error message are you geting? I have no problems with hik-online, but I have not added any new device since before christmas.
  11. If you can connect from iVMS-4200 to the NVR, you can download recordings to the laptop HD. There's no need to put a USB pendrive on the NVR.
  12. Can you? Yes. Should you? Absolutely not. Bad idea. The IR will reflect on the front glass/plastic, so you will not see anything at night. You could of course remove the glass/plastic on front and move the camera forwards as much as you can, and it might work, if the IR does not hit the housing on the borders. Also, that housing looks like some crappy indoor housing. Why would you want to use it? To protect the camera from vandalism? If that worries you so much, get a camera with a better housing/bracket.
  13. You can, and it is quite easy to do so if you have some basic networking knowledge. You just configure the network on your computer to be on the same subnet of the NVR, and you will be able to access the NVR from web browser or iVMS-4200. Like: NVR network - IP 192.168.1.200 / mask 255.255.255.0 / gateway 192.168.1.x Laptop - IP 192.168.1.any / mask 255.255.255.0 / gateway 192.168.1.x I think you might not even know iVMS-4200 is? iVMS-4200 is a program you run on your laptop; it is not the software on your NVR. So it doesn't make sense that you say you are using iVMS-4200, and using the USB port on the NVR. Either that, or you have not even looked how iVMS-4200 works, since of course it does allow you to playback recordings from the NVR, and download recordings on the laptop HD. Without the need to use the USB ports on the NVR.
  14. What? The question is? Are you trying to use it with some wifi USB dongle? It's not going to work. This is not a computer; it would need drivers to work with some random wifi USB dongle, and it doesn't have them.
  15. 666666 account can be deleted, I do so almost on almost every Dahua unit we install. I never tried deleting 888888 and admin, but I do change the passwords.

    true 960h vs FAKE 960h

And what did you actually expect? You do have more resolution. WHere you have 704x576, now you have 960x576. Did you think that changing the DVR would make your camera see wider? The DVR just turns the analog video signal it receives from the camera into 0s and 1s. You do have more resolution now, so you have more detail. But changing the DVR won't change the angle the camera is seeing.
  17. Those are accounts for a Dahua unit. "888888" account can only be used locally. That is, pluging in a mouse and monitor on the DVR/NVR. It can not be used remotely, so even if he knows the password (by default it is 888888) he could not use it unless he is phisically on the same place as the recorder. This account can not be deleted. "default" account does nothing. It comes out on the web interface, but it is just a system account. Do not worry about that. I do not know if it can be deleted, I have never tried. Then there are two more accounts that come by default on Dahua units. "admin/admin" and "666666/666666". "666666" account is a visitor account, it can see and playback cameras, but it can not touch the configuration. "admin" account is the one you should have the password to, and change it if you feel like it.
  18. Then talk to him. I don't find it so creepy, but it would be if he wants to keep access to the device. We always change the default admin password, and give it to the customer. On the documentation we give it we advise them to change it to something else; and also warn them that if they do lose admin access to the device, it will be their fault, and they will be charged for access recovery. But any unit we install, it is the customers unit. He can do with it as he pleases, and we do not connect to the units after installations unless the customer asks us to do it for whatever reason.
  19. Change the admin password on the device. Remove any other accounts.

iDMSS Plus for Iphone not recording

iDMSS does not. You can take a screenshot or record some video at a given moment. But it is not working 24/7 recording from your cameras, it wouldn't make much sense to record on a mobile phone (very little storage, battery operated, limited bandwidth). You can use a PC as a NVR. I think Dahua might have free software to do so, but I do not know which one it would be. Maybe Smart PSS can do it? And I am sure many people here can tell you better options, some free, some commercial.

iDMSS Plus for Iphone not recording

iDMSS does not record, unless you do it manually like you say. If you want to playback from the cameras, you will have to put a memory card on each camera (if they have a memory card slot), or you will need a NVR to record the cameras. Well... If you do not have anything that records, it would be quite weird if you did get to playback anything.
  22. Try this. No iodea if it works at all, I do not use Mac. http://www.hikvisioneurope.com/portal/index.php?dir=Software/02%20%20%20Web%20Components/ You can always use iVMS-4200 for Mac.
  23. Awesome. Last time I tried this it did not work, but it has been a while.
  24. And is EZVIZ actually enabled on the camera...?
