  1. My cameras are working at 1920x1080, my screenshots are at 760x576. DS-7716NI-ST v3.1.5 firmware. On the dropdown I have automatic (which I guess would be the same resolution as the main stream?), 704x576, 352x288 and 176x144.
  2. You can change the screenshot resolution on the NVR, and I am quite sure also on the camera. But that will just change the resolution of the screenshots when the NVR/camera emails you with a screenshot. That "Cammy" app you are using (never used it) probably gets the screenshot from your camera/NVR main stream. So, it probably just connects to the video feed, and gets 1fps. If that is the case, whatever resolution you set on the camera/NVR screenshot will not make a difference. If the app gets the 1fps from the main stream, whatever resolution you set your main stream to, that will be what Cammy gets.

    spycam question

It does not look like one. It seems to be just a standard PIR sensor.
  4. That's the way it works with this camera. When the camera turns on the IR leds turn on for a while.
  5. Wow, I didn't even know this existed. Network signal over coax, and also POE? Awesome, I will remember if I ever need this.
  6. Well... Not there indeed. I don't have any DS-71xxNI to check, but my guess is that it just doesn't support it.
  7. Post a screenshot of the section. That is the entry level NVR, so that option might have been removed.

IP Camera Setup Tool Advice Needed

Yes, you can see it on the pictures. Camera is connected to the nano router (RJ45 cable) and to the battery.

Access Point mode. I have it with fixed address 192.168.1.18 (so it won't conflict when I connect it to my wired network); DHCP enabled, so when I connect my tablet, laptop, etc, with wifi it will connect to the network without any manual config.

    NOIP not work

Use hiddns/hik-online. Free, and works great.
  11. Make a picture of the sticker, RJ45 connector, and box if possible. If it is Hikvision you should be able to use SADP to find the cam on the network.
  12. It might very well be a 2CD2032 inside. I have also seen them with different casing, and rebranded to something different. The casing, stickers, RJ45 connectors, etc, should give you a nice hint. And of course the web interface/software.
  13. Ok, tried it. And the event does not show up on iPhone until you click on the event on the notification bar (or whatever it is called on iOS). That is; the push event happens, and I got the notification on both my Nexus 4 and the test iPhone. On my Nexus 4 I open gDMSS Plus, go to notifications list, and I have the push notification that just happened lister. On the iPhone I go to iDMSS Plus, check the notification list, and there is nothing new in there. But, if I close iDMSS Plus, and click on the notification event, it will open iDMSS Plus and show me the recorded event. Now if I go to the events list, I will see it there.
  14. Just close and open again the stream, on the "main view".
  15. The equivalent to iVMS-4200 for Dahua is PSS/Smart PSS. PSS is the old software, not any more in development (I think). SmartPSS is the new software they have released, still under heavy development, and should improve as it moves forward. http://www.dahuasecurity.com/download_9.html
  16. Agree with that, a scheduled reboot would be nice. Also, I would love to see with Hikvision multiple DDNS support like with Dahua. With Dahua units many times I use the included DDNS free service which I give to the customer, and my own Dyn.com account. That way if one of the services is down I might still be able to log remotely with the other one, or if both are down at the same time it will be a better indicator that there is a problem. Now it even disables hik-online if you use EZVIZ, which doesn't make sense to me. If you use EZVIZ, it doesn't let you configure a DDNS service at all on the unit.
  17. Reset the camera to default values. From the web interface. With cameras that do not have a QR code sticker after a reset to defaults the code becomes ABCDEF.

Where did u get battery with 5 and 12 V outputs Thx We sell them, so I just took it from work http://www.securame.com/bateria-recargable-liion-5v-5600mah-usb-12v-3800mah-ysnn12v-larga-duracion-con-cargador-p-692.html Google "YSN N12V" for some international links.
  19. but 1/2.8" vs 1/3" with mere difference of 1/0.2" is almost insignificant. I think dahua sensors are all 16:9. In their 1.3Mp and 3Mp models 4:3 sensors. It's like dahua just cut the sides. This occurs to both 1.3Mp and 3.0Mp in all models at 3.6mm at mere 72 degrees field of view. Only the 1080p 2Mp dahua ip cams are wider at 88 degrees... the 16 degrees of difference can't be caused by the mere difference between 1/2.8" vs 1/3" sensor.. would it? A 1/2.8" sensor is 18% bigger than a 1/3" sensor. So 72º * 1.18 = 85%. I am not saying that is the explanation, but it would make sense. Well... The domain http://www.NetworkCameraCritic.com should give you an idea on what he reviews, network cameras. I will guess that's why he hasn't reviewed any HDCVI cameras, because they are not network cameras. Just my guess.

    Cable Length 12V

That will depend on the material of the UTP cable; the width of the cable; the quality of the power supply; the AMP requirements of the camera you are installing; etc... So, to answer the question, you have to try it. With the cable you are using on your installs, with the power supply you are using, the cameras you are using, and so on.
  21. 2MP model has 1/2.8" sensor. 3MP model has 1/3" sensor. With the same lens, bigger sensor = wider FOV.
