Remote viewing and recording of 5x Dahua IP Cameras
Securame replied to MPD2011's topic in System Design
It's not difficult. First one will probably take more time, next ones should be easier. You will need to configure each connection, do port forwarding on the routers, configure DDNS (you have free DDNS with Dahua IP cameras), etc. -
Hikvision NVR 7716/7732 RTSP camera support
Securame replied to cctveye65's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
LOL, then you could have reported back already... Share! -
What I was looking for, thanks! I have no problem with DVR 2.x, DVR 3.x, and IPC, but I wasn't able to get RTSP working with my NVR. It is strange that I can use the substreams with no problems (like 102), but I can not get the main styreams to show up (like 101). I do connect, but VLC will just sit there forever. But it is surely better than nothing, so I do not have to open the RTSP ports on those IPCs one by one.

Hikvision NVR 7716/7732 RTSP camera support
Securame replied to cctveye65's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I just updated my 7716NI-ST to the latest version (3.3.15), and maybe it is possible now. See screenshot. I haven't tried it yet, but it does seem you can add RTSP streams. -
Hikvision in Brown box vs White/Red box
Securame replied to metricus's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
The fact that a camera is for local market (chinese) or for export market (international) does not come from the color of the box. You can find chinese products with brown or red/white box, and you can find international products with brown or red/white box. But product for local/chinese market is cheaper. So there are chinese vendors who get the chinese product, patch it, and sell it with english language. With these products, if you do not know what you are doing and try to update/change the firmware, you can get the product back to chinese language. Yes, if you download an international firmware, as you call it, when you install it on a product that is supposed to be for the chinese market, you will get the product back to chinese language. -
Remote viewing and recording of 5x Dahua IP Cameras
Securame replied to MPD2011's topic in System Design
It can be done, if the upload bandwidth on each location is enough for a 1080p stream, and the download bandwidth on the recording location is enough for receiving all those streams. I would say at least 5mbps upload on each site, and 25mbps download where recording. Keep in mind that any problem on the connections will affect the recordings (if the connection goes down, if the connection is used for other things besides CCTV, etc). -
Is the public viewing your "private" cameras right now?

DS-7216HGHI-SH/S Turbo DVR (TVI) Motion plus Continuous Rec?
Securame replied to eos's topic in HD Analog
If you are recording 24/7, then you are recording 24/7. It won't matter if you also set up motion detection, since it is recording all the time (that is, it is actually also recording when there is motion). If you expect to have 24/7 recording, and on playback see a different color when there is motion, you will not get that with Hikvision. -
What IE version do you have on computer#1 and which one do you have on computer#2? Computer #2 might have a newer IE which is not compatible with your DVR. If that is the case, you might want to install an older version of IE, or try to use IE compatibility mode on your current IE. I doubt that will work. IE tab just shows IE on a Firefox tab; so if it is not working on IE, it should also not work with IE tab.

I do not think it is worth the price. Not even close. And I have to admit that when I first heard about HDCVI I felt the same as with HDSDI, that it would go nowhere, but the price being closer to analog makes it a good option. I see that I am not the only one that feels this way...
-
Forget HDSDI, really... go for IP. If you already have all the cabling in place, I would go for HDCVI or HDTVI. If you have to lay all new cabling, go IP and UTP cable.

Port forwarding has nothing to do with the fact that your unit is not connected to hik-online. And if you could program it from home, that would mean that you have already done the network config correct, which of course, you have not done yet. Sorry, but I do not do magic. If you do not post your config, no way I can tell you what is wrong.
-
Ports have nothing to do with being able to see it locally. You do not need to open any ports to see it from local. Your device is not reporting your IP to hik-online, since you say it shows the unit as being offline. How is your DDNS section configured? Here is a guide for seting it up. It is in spanish, I hope it helps. http://www.securamente.com/como-utilizar-el-servicio-de-dns-dinamico-hiddns-hik-online-com-con-tu-equipo-hikvision/

There is your answer, your unit is not configured properly. Check thge network config on the device, make sure network config is OK, you have a working DNS, and DDNS is set up (with HiDDNS or IP Server).

HikVision Chinese knockoffs??
Securame replied to sue_ridgepipe's topic in General Analog CCTV Discussion
Ah, ok, it is a PTZ camera. Only the camera module is from Hikvision. Everything else assembled by some unknown chinese manufacturer. You can not call it a "Hikvision knock-off", since it is not being sold as a Hikvision camera. They clearly state that only the module is from Hikvision. You could probably install the Hikvision firmware, but unless you have a good reason to do so, I would not bother. -
Nope. The camera must support UTC for the UTC controller to work. If your OSD camera does not support UTC, the UTC controller will do nothing.

HikVision Chinese knockoffs??
Securame replied to sue_ridgepipe's topic in General Analog CCTV Discussion
Pics on the camera, or what model it is (or you think it is), would help. I don't think it is a "knockoff", just a rebranded unit. Hikvision sells their units to companies that put their brand on them. The firmware, interface, etc, is just a little changed. And yes, you can usually upload the Hikvision firmware on the unit, and you will get the normal Hik interface. -
There is many different kinds and qualities of ethernet cables. I am not saying you can not get those 100m under ideal conditions (Cat6 pure copper, with good AWG). But I surely would never run a 100m cable without first trying it on the ground (that is, I will not waste hours of time to run the cable if I am not 100% sure that the cable will work when it is in place). If the cable is still in place, try to see if it does work with those 75m. If it does not, you know the exact length already (those 75m) you might want to make a 75m Cat6 cable and try with it before swapping the cables. If you do have 220v somewhere in the middle of that 88m cable, you might want to cut the cable in 2pc, and put a small 4port POE switch in the middle. I had to do that a few times with big installs, where I will use several smaller switches along the way for cameras that are very far away (I use cheap TP-Link SF1008P non managed 8 port switches, with 4 POE ports).

DVR Hikvision DS-7104HWI-SL connectivity issue
Securame replied to debre_neo's topic in Computers/Networking
I can assure you it uses 3 ports. Web port (for accesing from IE, Chrome, Firefox, etc), RTSP port (for video streaming), and data port (for iVMS client). If you do not forward data port, you won't be able to access the device remotely. For some reason, data port can not be changed from the web interface. You will have to change it either locally (mouse and screen attached to the DVR), or from iVMS. On iVMS you have to configure the data port (Device port on the screenshot). Also, there is no reason why you would still use iVMS-4000, it is very outdated. Yse iVMS-4200. -
That is a good distance. POE working (or not) depends on many factors, cable length, cable materials, cable category, camera power requirements, etc. I can very well see an IP camera not working with such a long Cat5e cable. Even with more reason if they are two cables merged into one (I have not reads the full thread). I think you have already put the cables in place. You should have tested before doing so. Even more, with that distance I would have used Cat6, which is thicker than Cat5e. I have actually done runs of about 80m Cat6. I have seen shorter runs of Cat5e fail. 88m? I would have never used Cat5e. I agree with them. The switch is not at fault at all there. No idea what you are saying there. You think any POE device will work with any cable that is shorter than 80m? No idea on where you got that from.

I can't access to my NVR Hikvision ds 7716ni-st
Securame replied to nc56's topic in Digital Video Recorders
7716NI-ST is a Hikvision NVR, not a DVR. What are you trying to do? -
CCTV Super Password
Securame replied to nguyenjimi's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Agree. I don't want to seem rude, but there is not a chance I would install that app on the mobile/tablet I use daily. If I really needed it, I would probably install/use it on a clean Android installation, and wipe everything when done. -
Dahua DVR Video Motion detection not working IP camera
Securame replied to zgebis's topic in Digital Video Recorders
You won't. When using ONVIF, most of the times you will not get MD working. If you want motion events, you should be using a Dahua camera. -
Agree. You have been told by several members to use RG59, but you are still asking if you should be using RG6...

Special Components for my NVR (PC Build). Ethernet Switch?
Securame replied to soccerkid's topic in Computers/Networking
Yes, Cat5e is a kind of UTP cable. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twisted_pair You could also use Cat6, but unless the distances are huge it is not needed, you can go for cheaper Cat5e.
