Anyone going to CPSE in Shenzhen?

I'll be there too, in Shenzhen from 27/Oct to 6/Nov. This will be my fourth CPSE, and I have been to SZ already 20+ times. Enjoy it!

    ri45 camera

No. That's an IP camera, it can not be used with a BNC DVR just by using a balun, they are completely different technologies.
  3. Try a complete reset to factory defaults settings.

    Dahua OEM firmware list

Those are HDCVI units, so there is no POE version. The N and P on Dahua firmwares usually relaters to PAL and NTSC versions. But I really doubt there are any differences, since our units are all PAL but can easily be switched to NTSC from the system menu. When using CVI/TVI/AHD cameras, and VGA/HDMI output, I guess you just don't care about that any more. But if the technician from SCK gave you a firmware, just flash that one. Why would you want to flash a random firmware downloaded from a random site that is not even for your unit?
  5. That depends on the aspect ratio/resolution of the camera you are watching full screen. Yes, it is normal behaviour. When you are watching one channel, you are watching the main stream. When you are watching 2x2 3x3 4x4 etc, you are watching the substreams.

    swann pro 535 zoom out

No, not possible. To protect a little bit the sensor/camera from the direct light from the sun.

    720P on very low Bandwidth

With any IP camera you can configure the resolution, the frames per second, and the bitrate as low as you want. The lower the bitrate, the worse the quality will be. So what you should be looking for is for a camera with the best compression algorithms. So given the low bitrate you want to use, the image quality will be better than with other cameras.

    HD-TVI

You will get to have the latest firmware earlier. But Hikvision will not help you with it, it is not their unit; and GTEC will also not help you with it, it is not their firmware.
  10. Then either the led is dead; or your HD is not working ok, or you do not have configured the DVR to record. Check if there are actually recording on the unit, and if it is recording, then the led is probably just not working.
  11. Have you bothered reading what it says on top of the led?
  12. You connected with a wrong password several times (your wife's phone), so you got locked out. Just set the right password on all computers/mobiles/whatever, restart the device, and done.

    HD-TVI

That was a typo, sorry. Hikvision will not give you support for an OEM DVR, of course, you need to contact the seller.

    HD-TVI

Here you go, latest version is v3.3.5 from Feb/17: http://www.hikvisioneurope.com/portal/?dir=portal/Product%20Firmware/Back-ends/Recorder/DVR/Turbo%201.0%20DS-7100%207200%207300%208100%209100HGHI%20HQHI%20HUHI Btw; the QR code is just the serial number encoded. In your case it would be 523575782.
  15. It will work, it supports analog/TVI/CVI/AHD/IP.

  17. You do not need any cables. http://www.hikvisioneurope.com/portal/?dir=portal/Product%20Firmware/Back-ends/Recorder/DVR/DS-72%2073%20HWI-SH%20HFI-SH%2072HVI-SV%20DS-73%2081%2024-ch%2032-ch%20DS-7200HWI-Ex_C/V3.1.6%20build170613 (you need DVR-KN32)
  18. Yes, you can (without PoE) Really? You can connect a switch to one of the POE ports, add several cameras, and then add them by hand to other channels?
  19. No. Each POE port is for only one channel/camera.

    Hacked DVR--Dahua

It seems I was not THAT correct; 888888 is a local admin account, and it should only work when used locally (if it worked as expected, which it doesn't). It surely does seem that there is an xploit that allows remote access of the 888888 account, which most people never bother changing the password (it seems any way that with some firmwares it can be accessed without a valid password).

    Hacked DVR--Dahua

Can you give more information on how you had the unit configured/connected online? I have also had 3 people contact me with this same problem on the last couple of days. - What devices are they? - Did you have open ports (I guess this must be yes) - What ports did you have open? - Were you using the default web port 80? - Did you use P2P to access the device? Thanks!
  22. The firmware on your NVR is from 6/May/16. So nothing has changed oni the NVR side of things. Also, from the colours on the web interface; that is actually not even a Hikvision firmware, but a rebranded one, and I guess you also have rebranded cameras (OCB protocol).
  23. RG59 better than RG6. But it would be even better to use UTp cable and use video baluns. This way if you want to switch to VGA or HDMI in the future, you will be able to do so. (algarvepaddy mentioned that it needs two cables, but there are plenty of HDMI over UTP extenders that work with just one cable).

    Falcon or Hikvision DVR?

The DS-7208HQHI-F1/N *IS* a current unit. It does 1080p@12fps or 720p@25fps on all channels. It can also do 3MP@12fps on the first two channels. It also has two extra IP channels, but I am not sure it will be easy to get those two channels working with anything that is not a Hikvision IPC.

    Falcon or Hikvision DVR?

Wow, that is one outdated unit. That Falcon is a rebranded Dahua, and it is quite an old model. I would not recommend it. If you want a Dahua, go with it. It should have no problems with ONVIF cameras (at least the ones that follow ONVIF standards, and I am quite sure ACTI does). But I would recommend to get one of the current 5in1 units, where you can use any channel on whatever system you want (analog, CVI, TVI, AHD, or IP camera). I would suggest Dahua XVR5108H (up to 12 IP cameras).
