    hikvision grainy at night

Well, and why not post a capture of what the camera sees, instead of posting a picture of the actual camera...? Just saying...
  3. You could actually do it with both Hikvision and CP-Plus (which is a Dahua). Hikvision does have option to record to NAS; I would say Dahua also does, but I do not have any of the newer units now to check. You could also do it with a DVR+NVR. The first unit would be an analog DVR, the second unit the NVR. On the NVR you would configure the streams on the DVR as IP cameras/video streams. This would be quite easy to do.
  4. Yes, of course the s/n that you get on the web interface is the real s/n, and it should be the same on the box.

    Newbie Need A little Help

That is not a "ip speed dome cam" like you said on the first post, it is an analog camera. It would work, but you would also need a DVR. You will not be connecting the camera to your router; but the camera to the DVR, and then the DVR to the router. When you watch the camera from your iPhone, you won't be connecting to the camera, but to the DVR. When you move the camera, you won't be sending commands to the camera, but to the DVR, which will then send them to the analog camera (through the RS485 interface).
  9. Are you sure that RCA connector is an audio input on the card? That could very well be a video output for connecting a monitor. For audio recording you might need to use the mic-in input on your computer sound card.
  10. Having both the main stream (1.3Mp) and substream (D1) at 1024kbps doesn't make any sense at all... Also, check your upload bandwidth; the download bandwidth doesn't matter at all, when what you have to do is send data, not receive it.
  11. Good choice. Keep in mind that you will usually need 1 port for the computer/NVR, and another port for the router/network. So with with the 8 ports you will be able to connect up to 6 or 7 POE cameras. If you don't plan on going over 4 cameras, you can find TP-Link TL-1008P (100mbps) for 53EUR or TL-SG1008P (1gbps) for 85EUR. They have 8 ports, 4 with POE, the other 4 do not have POE.

UNABLE TO PORT FORWARD PORT 37778

Try to forward all ports in both TCP and UDP. Do not worry if the UDP port does not answer on canyouseeme.org, an UDP port does not finish the connection.
  13. Do you have a DS-7216HWI-SH?
  14. This just made me notice that you are from Spain...
  15. Well... That's what NVR with alarm inputs are for. With it you could have your indoors cameras not record at all when you are at home, and once you arm your alarm system they would start recording (full time or motion).
  16. I don't think you will be able to do that at all, you would need a NVR with alarm inputs. But you have the equipment, so it is free to give it a try.

get stuck in telnet a camera

    Try on /mnt/mtd/Config
  18. You must have an iPhone, on Android the option is not even there. Do not bother with push, yet. From what I know, it is still in development, and is not working at all.

Hikvision 7204 HFHI-ST mobile device help

You need to forward 3 ports on your router to your DVR IP: web port (only needed if you plan on using the device remotely through the web interface), RTSP port, data port. By default they are 80, 554 and 8000. Then you will need to have either a fixed IP address or use a DDNS system. You can use Hikvision's free DDNS syervice (www.hiddns.com). From a mobile, you have to use iVMS-4500 to view the cameras.
