Having trouble remotely saving a DAV Video file.
Securame replied to smokingjoe's topic in Computers/Networking
Find your Explorer link on the Windows menu; right click on it, and choose "run as administrator". This way IE will have rights to write anywhere it wants on the hard drive, otherwise it only has access to write on the user folder, and not on the desktop. -
Dahua NVR and gDMSS, Android doesn't receive any events:help

This has been fixed since maybe 2-3 weeks ago. Push notifications are working again on Android. -
Desperate HELP needed on this "alien" card!!
Securame replied to AlexR's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Search for BTWinCap drivers. Those might allow you to use the card with some softwares that work with directdraw devices. I hope you have plenty of spare time to use on this. I would just throw it away and but a 4ch DVR (which on the long run will pay by itself with what you save on power, vs having a computer on 24/7). -
Newbie Question: Will A CCTV Camera Record With This Setup?
Securame replied to magnumfinger's topic in General Digital Discussion
Yes, "evidence"... Like when he brings someone in the room, and wants to keep a recording for the future -
Computer with IP 15 might have some kind of firewall or antivirus installed that is not allowing the machine to receive/reply ping requests (Windows firewall, Norton, McAfee, etc).

All Hikvision? Then why not just use iVMS-4200 software from Hikvision? If the connection on each DVR sucks (slow mobile connections, etc), just use the substreams, and configure them with very low settings. You can make the substreams QCIF and 1/16fps (that is, one frame every 16 seconds). You also have a Hikvision SDK available for free; you can have someone code you a program as you like it, so it pulls an image every x seconds, compares it with the previous image, gives out warnings, etc.

U?sing dynamic DNS with HikVision NVR
Securame replied to BassTeQ's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Make a screenshot of the network section on the Hik unit. You need a DNS configured. Also, I hope you are not puting http:// in front of the domain on the DDNS section... -
The red led only blinks when configuring the camera. The IR leds are 940nm. The camera will be as stealth as you are able to hide it. There is no flash.

Download all data from DVR at once...
Securame replied to askantik's topic in Digital Video Recorders
It will. The HD on DVRs is for storing the recordings, all the OS is embedded on the device. A DVR will function even without a HD installed (some units allow recording on a networked HD, you might want to use it just as an encoder without doing recordings, etc). -

HikvisionDS-2CD2132-I poor image quality of attempted burglr
Securame replied to old's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Image quality on that video looks great. I wouldn't say "poor image quality", but more like poor camera placement. I can only see one video, and not three. -
Download all data from DVR at once...
Securame replied to askantik's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Here are some options. - Take out the drive and insert a new drive. When you have everything you want recorded, then worry about exporting the files. - Export over network. Can you access the DVR from some software or web browser? Use it to download the recordings. - Buy a decent DVR, and make sure it does what you need before you get it. -

gdmss lite uses massive amount of data on phone
Securame replied to milkisbad's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Oh, my bad! I was not understanding you. I thought you said you could not playback from mobile unless you record the substream. You can, but of course you will playback the main stream! If you want to playback the sub stream, yes, you must record it. -

Securame replied to milkisbad's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Nope. I just tested it, and I can playback files from my mobile, and I am not recording the substream. -
You do not need anything at all. The 19" units from Hikvision always come with their "ears" in case you deploy them on a rack. I do not know what would be the name of the things, but something like this...

U?sing dynamic DNS with HikVision NVR
Securame replied to BassTeQ's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
The server address repends on the provider you are using. For dyndns.org it used to be members.dyndns.org. From what I see on no-ip (which I have never used), it is dynupdate.no-ip.com (from http://www.noip.com/support/knowledgebase/setting-up-dynamic-dns-updates-on-a-d-link-di-604-router/ ) Everything else looks about right. -
gdmss lite uses massive amount of data on phone
Securame replied to milkisbad's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Well, you are watching video... You expect it not to use data? Just check out what is the bitrate on your extra stream, and you can know from there the bandwidth it will use when watching it. If you want to use less data, lower the bitrate, resolution, etc. on the extra stream. I think that is not a problem. I only record the main stream, when I watch from gDMSS I can choose which stream to watch. When I do playback, I only get to see the main stream (it doesn't even ask, but that is the only stream I have recordings anyway). -
How to wire magnetic sensor to I/O connectors on wirless Cam
Securame replied to victorb's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Hey, that is awesome! I did not even know there were magnetic sensors with NO/NC connectors. Must find them, thanks for that pic! -
Did you try connecting them to a computer to see if you can watch the recordings there?
-
My two cents. - Motion detection did not work at all with any cameras I tried. - I did get the unit recording on a 32Gb USB stick. It only gave me like 20-22Gb available for whatever reason. - It must use a propietary file system, since inserting the USB stick on a computer only gave me the format prompt. That means that if I want to play back the recordings on a computer, first I need to export them to another USB stick, eSATA device, etc. (there are only two USB ports, so it would not be fun to connect two USB sticks and a mouse at the same time). - Web interface was in chinese, so I could not try anything at all. This is not yet a mature product. It can, and has to get a lot better. It is cool for the small size, recording on USB stick, etc. But so far as I said on my other post, the best usage I see for it is as a 4ch 1080p decoder, so you can view 4 cameras easily on any TV without the need of a computer.

Hikvision default password
Securame replied to CBX's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Cheers. I've been looking at the code for the DVR control app as I don't have one to test. Looks like the gen code is indeed different, but I think I can figure it out without debugging on the device. I'll send a code based on the IPcam algo which should be wrong and a code based on what i think the DVR app expects. We'll see if it works The serial I sent you belongs to a IPC. If you also need DVR, NVR, other IPCs, let me know. -

No problem on sending a serial, you have a PM. I will check if the code is right. -
Looking for DVR with Chrome / Firefox Support
Securame replied to security_hobbyist's topic in General Digital Discussion
All current Hikvision and Dahua units support IE, Firefox, Chrome... What I can not tell you for sure is if they also support Linux.
