HIKVISION + external audio
Securame replied to Shinobi's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
LOL and they call it "mini microphone"? Have you seen the pictures? If they are correct, I am not sure I would call it "mini"... Edit: Take a look at the specs, it works with a AAA battery. -
You seem to be on a windows for downloading recordings, and not for playing them back.
-
1) Your DVR needs to be hidden, do not just leave it on plain sight. 2) If you want to feel more secure; install 2 units. The real DVR hidden, the "fake" unit on plain sight. It can be a non working DVR, a crap DVR that doesn't even have a HD installed, and old unit, a deffective one, etc. Just make sure it seems real and is connected like a real DVR (powered on, with BNC cables oconnected, etc). If you get broken into, once the thiefs steal the fake DVR, they will not be looking for any other units.

I got it from the manufacturer. I really don't think they actually manufacture the unit, it is probably from some other factory, since I have seen these units sold by a few companies already. But they are the company that provided me the sample back at CPSE. They contacted me to ask if I liked the unit, I told them I was unable to use it at all, and they have been helping me troubleshoot some issues. I still think it is not a mature enough unit and I can still not call it "good", but now it is not "bad" also. I also did not get any useful manuals/software with the unit (everything on the included CD was in chinese). One thing I did think was that the unit at least would be great as a 4ch 1080p decoder. You just want to view 4 cameras 1080p on a VGA computer monitor? This would be a cheap way to do it, and hey, if it can also do recording on USB stick, that would be even better.
-
Yes, it is easier to do it from IE, you can just search for the extra stream recordings.
-
Well, you can actually playback the substream from PSS, you just can not search just main stream or substream recordings; you will get them all. I activated the extra stream recording yesterday on one of my cameras, and now when I search the recordings I have two recordings on each event. The bigger one is the main stream, the smallest one the extra stream. So we can playback the extra stream recording from PSS, but there is just no easy way for searching just the kind of recording you want, like there is on the web interface.

HikVision NVR outside LAN
Securame replied to BassTeQ's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Configuration -> Local configuration -> Stream type, set it to Sub stream. Your internet connection probably does not have enough upload bandwidth to stream all cameras at the Main stream at the same time. -
Ooops, allow me to update on this. I got a firmware update for my unit, and now it works fine and detectes all my Hikvision and Dahua cameras. I still have not been able to test recording on the unit. Here are some thoughts so far: - I still do have 2 ONVIF cameras that are not detected. I don't care about them. - The menus suck. I am used to Hikvision and Dahua interfaces/menus; the ones I have on this unit are a lot worse. - I still have not been able to do any recording. The USB pendrive is there, but I just have not figured out on this interface how to record. - The streams on the cameras have to be the same, or they won't work. That is, you have 4 cameras? They better be able to work all of them at the same resolution (1920x1080, 1080x720) or it won't work. You can not have 2 cameras at 1920x1080 and 2 cameras at 1080x720. - I still did not try any remote access... but it is supposed to be there.
-
Well, guess I was wrong... I do not see how to do it from PSS. Dahua, sometimes I hate your software soooo much...

Cannot import .mp4 into Premiere Pro due to header problem
Securame replied to Shinobi's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
The codecs make Windows understand the file format (you can open the video from Windows Media Player, etc). It is strange that Premiere can not understand them, since I assume that Premiere would use the codecs available to Windows. If you find any way to get it working, please post back. -
It is possible; but you must also record the extra stream, by default it is not being recorded. You can easily choose what recordings to search for from the web interface, either main stream or extra stream. I am sure it can also be done easily from PSS.

I think it's the xxh. I'm sure it's not the xxe because the unit I installed only had 1/1 audio whereas the the xxe has 4/1 . I don't see specs for the xxa on their website though. can you show me where you see it? Here is our web site, you can also find the specs on Dahua web site. http://www.securame.com/grabador-dvr-dahua-dhdvr5104h-4ch-video-1ch-audio-h264-wd1-100fps-vga-hdmi-sata-p-1472.html http://www.securame.com/grabador-dvr-dahua-dhdvr5104he-4ch-video-4ch-audio-h264-wd1-100fps-vga-hdmi-sata-alarmas-p-1475.html http://www.securame.com/grabador-dvr-dahua-dhdvr5204a-4ch-video-4ch-audio-h264-d1-100fps-vga-hdmi-satax2-alarmas-p-1478.html 51xxH and 51xxHE are basically the same, but 51xxH do not have alarm inputs. 52xxA is a bit bigger (two SATA HDs). The same external case is used for many models. The one you posted a link to Aliexpress is a 51xxH.

Cannot import .mp4 into Premiere Pro due to header problem
Securame replied to Shinobi's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Try the following: 1) Install Hikvision codecs. This way hopefully your programs (Premiere, etc) will be able to understand Hikvision videos. www.hikvision.com -> support -> download -> tools -> Windows Media Player Filter 2) Use Hikvision player to export the video to a known format (Divx, Xvid, etc). www.hikvision.com -> support -> download -> tools -> VSPlayer -
That looks like a Dahua unit, but without seeing the back it is hard to say which one. It looks like any of the following: DH-DVR51xxH DH-DVR51xxHE DH-DVR52xxA (and probably more models will use the same case)

Problem in Dahua NVR5232 32 Channels
Securame replied to IP Engineer's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
What are the settings on each of those cameras? Resolution and max bitrate? I think NVR5232 should be able to support 32pc HFW2100 (1.3Mp)... -
A DVR records analog video; a NVR records IP cameras; an hybrid system does both. Do you have a Dahua DH-DVR1604HF-U? That is an hybrid system, it records 16ch analog video and up to 16ch IP camera. I really doubt any Dahua unit (DVR, NVR or hybrid system) can record from an RTSP stream without a lot of hacking, but I would love to see any news on this. It will work with any ONVIF camera, but it is not using RTSP.

Hikvision Chinese day of week fix question

This is geting interesting... -
Then feel free to code your own solution. If you will need to send many SMS, in the long run it will be cheaper for you.
-
Well, you would need to write the same script to check a local inbox, or a remote inbox. Locally it would be way faster, but you would also need to set up your email server, of course. I also do not know of any mobile company in Spain that gives a gateway for emailing directo to SMS, that would be cool. There are of course reliable options (I was not talking about Google, I did not even know they did this; I was talking about googling "email to sms"). I can tell you this one I know a customer of mine uses, but it is in spanish. They give you 10 free SMS, and then you can buy in packs (like 100SMS 7.5E, that is 0.075E each). I have never had the need of an email to SMS gateway since I receive emails on my mobile, but if I needed the option, I would not bother creating my own solution. http://www.textlocal.es/

Don't you think that if someone steals your DVR, they will also steal the external HD? Or you think they will just leave it sitting there so you can have the recordings? For extra protection, hide the real DVR, and leave in plain view a junk/non working DVR. Once a thief takes one unit, he won't think on the chance of other unit/s hidden somewhere.
-
If you want to record a RTSP stream on your DVR, you can not do it. A DVR records analog video, it can not record from a RTSP stream.
-
It is quite easy to set up a Hikvision camera to send email. You could make a script that opn receiving an email on a given address will send it to you by SMS? You might also want to Google "email to sms", you have many platforms that will do that for you, and might save you some headaches.
-
I did try one unit that looks like that one, but the external enclosure is black. It did not detect any camera I tried it with, Hikvision, Dahua, other ONVIF cameras... It was junk. I am sure there are different manufacturers, so results may vary. If you try one, please post back with your results.
-
Feel free to post a link of one of those mini NVRs. I purchased one for testing, and it is quite good as a brick. It was supposed to work with ONVIF cameras, but I was unable to get it working with any of the cameras I tried.
