Any easy way to capture screenshots from a Dahua IP camera?
Securame posted a topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I need to get a snapshot from a Dahua IPC-HFW3200S every x minutes. What would be the correct way to do it? I have checked PSS but I do not see any way to automate it; I can easily make a screenshot by hand, but I think there is no option to automate it. I also see the IPC has snapshot options, but I think that I would need to set up an FTP server. I have only used Dahua IPCs with NVR and hybrid DVRs, this is the first time I try to record from a computer. I think PSS is not the right program for this, which one should I be using? Thanks! -
black screen Iphone - Swann App - iVMS-4500 - Lorex netHD

Check again your port forwarding on the router. Make sure you have all the needed ports, forwarded to the right IP, in both TCP and UDP (just in case). If UPnP can do it, you can do it manually too. -

Securame replied to tim36's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
There is no reason why that should be happening; uPNP is just a way so that the port forwarding will happen "magically", but if it does work that way, forwarding the same ports by hand can be done too. -

Current Hikvisions use 3 ports; web port, data port, RTSP port. Defaults are 80/8000/554. You need to have them all forwarded from your router to your DVR. Not sure why you first say 1025, and then you say 554. If you want to make sure it is not a router/DVR problem, try connecting from outside from a computer using Internet Explorer (you will need web port and RTSP port) and iVMS-4200 (you will need data port and RTSP port). If this works, then the problem is not with the DVR and connection. Now, I have seen problems with iPhones, and I have seen problems with iVMS-4500 on iPhones. There was one version that would not work when using mobile network, and it would work ok when the same iPhone was using wifi. It was solved upgrading the DVR firmware. There was a version on iVMS-4500 that would refuse to run on some versions of iOS, but would work fine on others. There was a version of iVMS-4500 for iPhone that was pulled from the App Store a day after it was up because it was not working at all, those who had installed it had to wait until a new version was up (since they could not downgrade). You can have issues, but if it is working from other Android devices and even from other iPhones, you can just wait until iVMS-4500 gets updated, you can find the latest firmware for your DVR, or you can switch mobiles. If those are not the same exact DVR with the same exact firmware, I can see that happening. -
How to connect Dahua with Vitamin D software?
Securame replied to kiwicam's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Are you using the free version of Vitamin D? It is limited to 320x240 resolution, if you want higher resolutions you have to purchase the program. If you can connect with RTSP to your camera let's say from VLC and see the main stream, then it surely is not a problem with the camera (I can connect with no problems and see the video streams at 1920x1080). -
No, I didn't say it should work. I do not know what USB stick you have, so I can not tell you if it is compatible with MR3020. It is not easy to configure, you will have to take care of port forwarding, seting up a dynamic DNS domain, etc. I said it can be done, but it is not so easy to setup. If you need to ask if a Samsung Wave will do the job, I would say that you probably be better with help from someone to set this up for you. I hope that if you are asking for this is because you can not get a fixed internet connection at your house. If you do have it, that is the route you should go.

Any camera with IR will give you false positives; any camera outdoors will give you false positives; and any camera with IR and outdoors will give you even more false positives. If after playing with detection zones and sensitivity you are still not happy with the results (too many videos with nothing), maybe you should install some outdoor PIRs that will trigger the recordings, so bugs, wind, trees, bushes, dirt, etc. won't be a problem any more.

It can be done, you will need a router that supports your USB stick. For how long will it last? That depends on what video streams you will be viewing (it is not the same to watch a camera at 1920x1080@25fps, than to watch a camera at 176x144@6fps), and how often you will be watching those cameras. If you only take a peek once a day, it will last more than a week. If you will be watching non stop, 4Gb might not even last for a day. I have used sometimes this TP-Link router with success: http://www.tp-link.com/en/products/details/?categoryid=&model=TL-MR3020

Help for About play to .h264 files
Securame replied to burakdemir's topic in Digital Video Recorders
The player needed depends on the standalone DVR that was used to do the recording. You need to know the DVR, or otherwise you will not be able to find the player... -
need to record audio and video in 1 channel
Securame replied to krithik49's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Then if you have a microphone, what is your question? -
With 3108-E you can record all 8 channels at CIF@25fps each channel; or you can record all 8 channels at D1@6fps each channel; or you can mix them (say, 4 ch D1@6fps and 4ch at CIF@25fps). With 3108-H you can record all 8 channels at 2CIF@25fps each channel; or you can record 2 chahnels at D1@25fps and 6ch at CIF@25fps. Keep in mind that I think this depends on firmware, I have used 3108-H that only allowed me to do "2 chahnels at D1@25fps and 6ch at CIF@25fps", and they did not allow "8 channels at 2CIF@25fps each channel".

You will have to hop from router, to router. From the outside router, you will need to forward the needed ports the the second router's IP address; from there, forward the ports to the third router IP address; and from that one, forward ther ports to the DVR IP.

That is the DVR with the lowest specs available from Dahua (their entry level model). So to answer your question, no, it's not one of the better ones. It is actually the worse one they currently manufacture. Note that I do not mean it is a bad unit, but it is the one they have with the lowest specifications and the least options. But it does do what you are asking for, and I am sure you should be able to find it much cheaper than $200. Last 31xx units I have gotten from Dahua were not 31xxE any more, they were 31xxH which have slightly better specs. So I do not even know if 31xxE are still being manufactured. http://www.dahuasecurity.com/products/dvr3104-3108-3116e--65.html http://www.dahuasecurity.com/products/dvr310431083116h-217.html

A mini Android device that connects to the HDMI port should do it. Something like this: http://es.aliexpress.com/item/MK808B-bluetooth-android-mini-pc-new-Stable-Dual-core-RK3066-mini-pc-dual-core-Android-HDMI/764597463.html Note that I have no idea if this one is good or bad, just found it on Google. I do have a couple of customers with devices like this one, connected to a TV working 24h/day, just showing cameras. Cheap, and way more energy eficient than a normal computer. Google for "android hdmi stick" or "android, hdmi dongle", or something like that. If your camera has Android client, you can just leave it running there forever. If it must be RTSP, you can use some RTSP client, like VLC for Android. I think that your Apple TV also should be able to do it, there is must be some way to avoid that it goes to sleep...

Camera with 3G/4G Support
Securame replied to marley1's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
There are many routers that support 3G connection. I do not remember the model, but I have a TP-Link nano router where I can connect a 3G USB stick, and make a DVR, IP camera, etc. uses a 3G connection. I did a few tests, and it worked great. The nano router is powered with 5V, so I could even power it from a USB port on the DVR. -

Snashot URL for Hikvision/Swann/Lorex cameras
Securame replied to buellwinkle's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Ahhh, I did check out the PDF the first time... But I guess I just did not try hard enough The command http://ip/Streaming/channels will list all the available channels, and I see that there are 8 channels available: 101 102 201 202 301 302 401 402. Each channel (1 2 3 4) has two stream (01 02). So with the command http://ip/Streaming/channels/101 will show me the information on main stream on channel 1. And with the command http://ip/Streaming/channels/101/picture I will get a screenshot from channel 1, and I can also use channels 201, 301 and 401. It is strange that while my main streams are 704x576 and the substreams are 176x144, no matter if I make the screenshot on main or substream, both give me a 704x576 screenshot. But I can live with that. " title="Applause" /> -

Snashot URL for Hikvision/Swann/Lorex cameras
Securame replied to buellwinkle's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi buellwinkle, Did you test this on and DVR or just IP cameras? I just tried it and it worked great on a DS-2CD7153-E and DS-2CD8153F-E, but I could not get it working on a DVR. I tried an old 7204HFI-ST and a brand new 7204HFI-SH with no luck. 7204HFI-ST gave me a 404 page not found, I guess the old firmwares just won't support this. 7204HFI-SH gave me a 403 forbidden error after asking for user/password, so it does seem to be supported, but maybe something needs to be changed on the URL or I need to change some permissions. http://ip/Streaming/channels http://ip/Streaming/channels/1 The first command works OK and shows me a list of all channels and their configuration, but the second one gives me an invalid operation. Any hints? <ResponseStatus version="1.0"> <requestURL>/Streaming/channels/1/</requestURL> <statusCode>4</statusCode> <statusString>Invalid Operation</statusString> </ResponseStatus> Thanks! -

Ethernet over coax Dahua
Securame replied to vector18's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
That is something I didn't knew, thanks for sharing all your Dahua knowledge dexterash! " title="Applause" /> So, let's say, with a Dahua NVR3216, is it possible to record 4ch at 1920x1080@25fps; but it would also be possible to record just 3ch at 1920x1080@25fps, and also at the same time 4ch D1@25fps from a Dahua 4ch DVR? -
Does the DVR have more than one output? BNC, VGA, HDMI, etc. If so, try another output, some DVRs will only show menus on one of the outputs, maybe for some reason when you reset to defaults now the menu is showing on the output you are not currently using.

DVR EMAIL NOTIFICATIONS ON APOLLOSHD16-WEB SERVICE V2.0
Securame replied to paulx420's topic in Computers/Networking
Do you have your DNS correctly setup on your DVR? With no DNS your DVR is unable to resolve names (like smtp.gmail.com). Check your settings on Additional function -> Preferred DNS. Here is a guide with the exact settings you can use with your DVR (which is manufactured by Dahua) and Gmail, it is in spanish but it should help you out. http://www.securamente.com/como-mandar-emails-por-smtp-desde-un-dvr-o-camara-ip-utilizando-gmail/ -
New software for DAHUA-based products
Securame replied to dexterash's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I actually gave it a try 2-3 days ago, and I thought it was quite... unfinished to say the least. I think Dahua is building a program from scratch to replace PSS, so they do have a lot of work to do, but I do not think the current version is usable.
