Video Balun ( LAN Cable ) Vs BNC Cable
Securame replied to wmyatthu's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
You are new, and are going to make a CCTV installation for a factory with cable lengths up to 1000 feet... You are surely going to learn the hard way, good luck. -
Check to make sure that the ports in your router are still forwarded to your DVR.
-
I have to agree that there is no way you can be looking at the same time for the "best WDR camera", and "something inexpensive"...
-
Never used Swann, but that is not something hard to find on a DVR. I use mainly Hikvision and Dahua, and with both of them you can remove datestamp, timestamp and camera name.
-
Where are you located? I am sure this will differ from country to country, in some places it might be ok to do this, in some others it might not.
-
Yes, you can if your DVR supports PTZ domes.

DVR Security System, need help on how to get it to record.
Securame replied to ddnewell's topic in General Digital Discussion
Well, if it does not detect the hard drive, where do you expect it to record...? My suggestion on what to do, take out the hard drive, and try it on a computer. If the computer also does not detect it, you have a dead hard drive. -
Can DVR firmware be changed Between Different Manufacturers
Securame replied to stardust3's topic in General Digital Discussion
No, you can't. -
Putting CCTV Signal in a small wifi area for owners to see
Securame replied to shravank30's topic in General Digital Discussion
Just connect the DVR to the network. If your DVR has mobile client, it can be used from inside or outside the network. -
Hikvision and Dahua both have their software available for Mac (iVMS-4200 from Hik and PSS from Dahua), and I am sure there are many more brands that already have native Mac software.

DVR FTP mode only picture, where is video?
Securame replied to shankarsha's topic in Digital Video Recorders
That is cool and I'd like to know more about that too. I do not see anywhere a "V-mode" or "P-mode". I really do not think it is a good idea to store video with ftp, I doubt it would work for many channels at high bitrates, but for some events it would be great to have the ability to send the files somewhere else. -
DVR FTP mode only picture, where is video?

I think you can't do that, i would say FTP upload to NAS is only for snapshots/pictures. -
Access Hikvision DVR with only a Static IP Verizon Aircard?
Securame replied to jderosa3's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Via the USB port...? No way. -
Well, a pinhole lens is about 1mm. If you plan on installing it hidden, how do you expect to hide the IR? If you are asking if a pinhole camera can see IR, of course it can. But you will need to install the IR somewhere/somehow, which will make the install not so hidden...

accessible on OUTSIDE network, but home&ofice cant access
Securame replied to mhmmultiharvest's topic in General Digital Discussion
Don't do that, use an IP under 100, and do not use a different subnet. -
Hikvision DS-2CD2032-I FTP to NAS and push to mobile App?
Securame replied to JF1980's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
We install Hikvision DVRs the most, but we have installed lately many Dahua units just for the push notifications. I do not know why is taking so long for them to implement the option on their products, since I think that nowadays it is a must for many users, it was for me, I would have preferred a Hikvision unit, but I end up with a Dahua for the push alone. -
Hikvision DS-2CD2032-I FTP to NAS and push to mobile App?
Securame replied to JF1980's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I am quite sure all Hikvision IP cameras support FTP upload. This might help: http://www.hikvisioneurope.com/portal/index.php?dir=Technical%20Materials/01%20%20%20English%20Documentation/02%20%20%20Camera%20IP/02%20%20%20User%20Manual/ I am also sure (and mad about the fact) that Hikvision still does not have push support on their mobile apps, which I think is about time already... I would have a Hikvision DVR myself at home, but I have a Dahua just so I can get push notifications. -
Just curious, but is that Honeywell a rebranded Hikvision DVR? It is surely using their external casing.

accessible on OUTSIDE network, but home&ofice cant access
Securame replied to mhmmultiharvest's topic in General Digital Discussion
That will not help you at all; but if you have your DHCP pool from IP 100 to IP 254, you should not have your DVR configured at IPs 100 and 200, since those are IPs addresses that can be assigned by your router (IP 100 is probably the first one it will hand out). Have you tried accessing directly with your public IP instead of using dyndns? -
Check out http://www.cameramanager.com/ I have no idea on what they charge, I just know they exist, but I would love to hear back from you if you check it out.
-
You probably need to forward more than just one port, check your DVR documentation.

Dahua IPC-HD2100 and IPC-HDB3200C - are they 3 axis?
Securame posted a topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I am looking at Dahua IPC-HD2100 and IPC-HDB3200C cameras, does anyone know if they are 3 axis so they can easily be installed on walls? I do not see any information on the specs, and can't really tell from the pictures. http://www.dahuasecurity.com/products/ipc-hd2100--22.html http://www.dahuasecurity.com/products/ipc-hdb3200c--17.html Thanks! -
powring down hdd on generic 4ch dvr
Securame replied to lentildude's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Powering down an HDD on a DVR? That's not gonna happen. Feel free to install an SSD drive if you want lower noise or power consumption. -
hikvision 7216 - 16ch dvr video lag in lan
Securame replied to kathir's topic in Digital Video Recorders
kathir, What is your 7216 model? You can see it here. Also; why on earth would you configure a CIF stream at 2048Kbps? And then use lowest video quality? Doesn't make much sense. If in doubt, reset your DVR to factory settings and start from scratch. Any 7216 is perfectly capable of streaming with minimum lag on a network, either you have missconfigured something, or your computer and/or network sucks.
