If you use the camera wired, there are no interferences. You can connect any of the 4 cameras direct to a TV, and you will have a good image (a good, cheap, 380 lines CMOS image, that is). Connecting the camera wired will not stop the transmitter. They work at the same time wired, and wireless. You could wire them to a DVR somewhere in order to record them, and connect the receiver on a TV somewhere else on the house to view them; when viewing them, you would of course have worse image quality. It all depends on the quality you need, and what you want to do with the kit. You need to see the kids playing on the yard, who is ringing your doorbell? Might be enough. You want to be able to catch a thief who breaks on your house when away, and have any good shots of their face? I doubt it. The video you uploaded is wireless, not wired.

Hikvision DVR problem viewing over 3g Net

The fact that you can connect to your DVR from inside your network has nothing to do with connecting from outside. Inside your network you will connect to your lan IP, something like 192.168.1.x, you should be able to connect easily to it from any computer, or even from your iPhone if you are using your wifi; you MUST use the lan IP. From outside; you need to have the right ports forwarded to the DVR IP. And, of course, you must try to connect to it from outside the network, and connect to your wan IP, not the lan IP. If you do not know what is your IP: http://www.whatismyip.com/ For testing; it will be WAY easier to do it from a Windows computer then from your iPhone, I usually just connect remotely to my home computer, and from there try to connect to the DVR I am configuring.

All DVRs have PTZ controls, all DVR softwares have PTZ controls... That of course are only useful if you have PTZ cameras, and will do nothing with a camera that has no moving parts at all. Back on topic; as they have told you already, this kit is just a toy. 2.4G wireless (which anyone else can use/view, even your computer wifi could be causing interferences), maximum distance 100m with view from camera to receiver (which will never happen). The video you posted above does not show anything weird to me, it just shows me that you need to move the camera closer to the receiver.

Do you see anything on those cameras that make you think they are going to move? You want pan/tilt? Push the camera gently on any given direction. Want some zoom? Grab the camera and move it forward.

Hikvision DVR problem viewing over 3g Net

Some routers might give problems when using port 80, since that is the port used for accessing the router. Hikvision only use 2 ports, one for web and one for data (by default 80 and 8000), so I do not know why you are forwarding 3 ports (80, 90, 8000). I always change 80 to 90, so I leave it at 90 for web and 8000 for data. IVMS4500 on iPhone only uses the data port (8000), so 80/90 should not be the problem, it would work even if you do not have them open. Both ports need to be forwarded with TCP and UDP. You already stated it above so this should be correct, but it is important that the DVR has the gateway configured correctly (usually the gateway IP will be your router).
  7. Source code for what exactly...?
  8. I have 3 different models of BT878 cards that I use often under XP (with one chip, four chips, and eight chips). I know how to use BTWinCap with no problems under XP, I just was unable to get them to work under Win7 32bit the one time I tried, so I assumed that the drivers were so old, that it would not be possible to make them work under Win7. I guess I will have to give it another try...!
  9. That's not so bad if you got them to work, I tried once and wasn't able to...
  10. Ahhh, Conexant BT878 chips... For all I know, there's no drivers at all for Win7 for those
  11. Check out VNC parameters. You can create a shortcut that will connect automatically to any of the computers, by passing the IP, port, and even password as a parameter to VNC.

Motorcycle theft caught with video surveillance.

I knew this one with the name "Flash fog". http://www.flashfogsecurity.com/
  13. I know that there are cards than can be used with several softwares, and softwares that can use several cards... Like Hikvision DVR cards, I have used them with iVMS2000 from Hikvision, but also with Netvision software and Unisight software. And I know that Netvision software supports many brands of DVR cards, like Hikvision, Dahua, and quite a few more. But that is a higher level solution, I am still looking for the budget option, like BT878 was on WinXP...

    New open source tracking software

    That was awesome!!
  15. I don't run the forum, but I probably also would not want to be hosting someone else's 2Mb PDF file... It's not just a matter of file extension, but also size.

    Hikvision problem after firmware upgrade

BNC port, VGA port, both? It shows no image at all, or it just doesn't show the menus? There are some firmwares for Hikvision that will show the menu just on the BNC output; some other firmwares will show them on the VGA output.

    vga card

There are many programs that will give you a lot of details on the hardware installed on a given computer. The one I usually use is Everest: http://www.lavalys.com/
  18. The PDFs can not be downloaded unless we register on that forum, so it would be easier if you find a place to host them yourself.

    Dahua firmwares

Meh... The reseller we buy from only supplies with the latest english firmwares, not spanish. Oh, and chinese firmwares, but those also won't work for me...

    Dahua firmwares

Does anyone know how to get the latest Dahua firmwares with multilanguage support? I see on their web page they do have firmwares for download (right now I am not seeing any, but I know they used to be there), but I would be interestd on geting firmwares with spanish support. Any hints?
  21. Hikvision 4216HFVI would work ok under Vista 64bit, 16ch 4CIF real time. You could also use 4016HCI (16ch 2CIF real time) and 4016HSI (16ch CIF real time), or even mix some different model cards on the same computer (like 4208HFCI+4008HSI for 8ch 4CIF real time and 8ch CIF real time). You could use Hikvision free software iVMS2000, or use other programs like Netvision, Unisight, etc.
  22. You already have a thread open on this topic; opening a new one will hardly help any more. viewtopic.php?f=12&t=24313
  23. (off topic...) If by paid upfront you mean you might have to pay 12 or 18 months; no you don't (it doesn't make a difference if you are spanish/foreigner, or if you are spanish resident/are not). A phone line costs the same by law no matter where you live in Spain; Telefonica, which used to be a monopoly, must install it in a given ammount of time, and it will cost the same if you live on a big city, or if you live on a ranch by yourself away from civilization. ADSL also has the same price no matter where you live. It does happen that if you live in rural areas, or very far away from your "centralita (telephone center), you might only be able to subscribe to slower speed ADSL (which will also be cheaper). At home I have 12mbps/1mbps cable connection, I can have up to 50mbps/5mbps cable (at 64,90€+18% tax), but last time I checked years ago if I was to get ADSL, I was only able to get 3mbps download speed. You can get ADSL from other companies in Calpe and everywhere else; Telefonica MUST lease their telephone lines to all other ISPs, again, by law. No idea on what you might mean with a "shared" phone, there is no such thing as shared phones here... I really do not know what you paid for with those 1200€, but either it was not a normal internet connection (consumer or small business), or it was a ripoff. If it is some ultra high speed connection, fiber optic, frame relay, etc, I wouldn't know the prices on those, but that wouldn't make broadband in Spain "something expensive", and that surely wouldn't make those of us who have broadband "lucky".
  24. It is not. Really, I would know what I am talking about, I live in Spain, I have currently 4 broadband connections, and I used to be on the business of internet cafes/lan gaming centers, so I have had plenty of internet connections (dozens over the last 20 years, starting with modem and ISDN, ADSL, SDSL, cable, LMDS, 3G, FTTH..) Telefonica's ADSL 10Mb/800kbps is currently 40,90EUR+18% tax monthly (first 12 months are 26,90EUR+18% tax). Set up used to be free as long as you keep your connection for a minimum of 12/18 months, but most companies now do not enforce this any more and will not pay you any cancellation fee if you change to another company before those 12/18 months. And Telefonica is probably the most expensive broadband provider we have over here. We do get slower connections for the same price than most northern european countries, but they are surely not expensive. No idea on what connections you would have subscribed to with a 1200EUR setup cost...
  25. LOL, excuse me...?!?!? Last time I checked Spain was not part of Africa, everyone who wants broadband can have it over here. Our connections might not be the same as the ones let's say in Korea, but broadband here surely is not a luxury, but commonplace...
