  1. What mattaggie said. If you already have the 2pc 60 feet cable, give it a try. If you have to buy it, get a 120 feet cable.

HELP pls cctv screen is locked

Click on it to know. It is a warning, probably a "network cable not connected" error.

    HD-TVI Camera Help

I do not have much experience with license plates cameras myself, but I would say "Yes". If you adjust a camera to be able to read license plates at night, well, that might be all you will be geting, license plates... for everything else the settings will not be good. A night license plate camera will most likely be a dedicated camera.

    1080p cameras with 720p DVR?

If your DVR only supports 720p it will not even recognise 1080p cameras. If your DVR supports 720p AND 1080n, it WILL recognise 1080p cameras, but will only record them at 1MP.

upgrading NVR from Hikvision 7716 to 9632

When the NVR activates the cameras with "plug and play" it configures them with its own password; so the cameras will have the password the NVR had when they were connected the first time. If you have changed the NVR (7716) password since then, I would say that the password on the cameras does NOT get changed/updated, so they will have the password the NVR had at that time.

    Which cameras

A D1 DVR is also an analog system. The "best" your DVR supports is, well, analog video...

    camera question

    Yes.
  8. 1) can be done. Newer cameras (firmwares) even have an option called "ANR" (automatic network recovery), if the camera supports SD card you can record to both remote NVR and memory card; if the internet connection goes down, when the NVR and camera reconnect the camera will send the recording that were missed.
  9. DS-7616NI-E2/8P/A supports 16 ch up to 6Mpx *EACH* channel. You could connect 16 cameras, each camera running at 6Mpx, as long as you do not go over the total bandwidth when adding up the cameras. But do try to make your camera 1920x1080. Some old firmwares have unsupported resolutions; like they would support 2MP, 3MP and 5MP, but not 4MP. Just to make sure, configure your camera at 1920x1080, H264 (if it supports other compressions formats like H264H, H264+, H265, etc, disable them). The decoding capabilities refer to the live view; that means that you can only decode 6ch 2MP at the same time. If you want to view a 4x4 camera grid, you will have to view the sub streams.
  10. Did you buy from "legit" sources? Or are they chinese cameras?
  11. This. What's weird is that only of the two units shows that behaviour. Did you buy them both at the same time? Have you compared them to see if they are exactly the same?
  12. Any current DVR will allow you to do that.

    HIKVISION Recording problem

Two times someone tells you to replace the power supply, and you need to ask it a third time?

    Centralized Power Supply

I have seen some of those boxesd where the cooling fsn only turns on when the temperature goes over a certain limit.

    HIKVISION Recording problem

What DVR do you have? I agree that if the HD is not the problem, I would replace the power supply.
  16. You need to disable the channels 1-16 from using the integrated POE ports, then you will be able to add them from the network. You do NOT have to delete them; there is a setting to choose if it will use the POE port, or just add it from the network.

Connecting 8 IP Cams thru a POE Switch and Separate NVR

    That would work ok.

    Newb with some questions

960H means 960x576 resolution (that is 0.5 megapixels resolution). Current systems go way higher than that, I agree that anything under 1080p (1920x1080, which is 2 megapixels) is outdated. You will be better than with nothing with that $333 system, sure. But it is crap. And whenever you want to get a better system, you will find that the cable will have to be replaced, which will be a pain in the ass. Whatever system you get, no matter how crappy, it would be a good idea to get something that uses network cable, and not cheap pre-made analog cables (with BNC connectors).

IR Camera Bad Picture In Light

Then there's your answer, garbage cameras. If "it's better than nothing", then you should be fine. If you want something better, buy something better.
  20. Not completely correct; both HDCVI and HDTVI (don't know about AHD, we don't use it) can carry audio/PTZ signal over the coaxial cable. So with an HDCVI/HDTVI camera that has integrated microphone you do not need to use at all the audio input on the back of the DVRs.
  21. Bidirectional audio. There are cameras with microphone/speaker or audio in/audio out. You could connect an speaker/headphones and microphone on the NVR, and you would hear the audio from the cameras, and you could "speak" to the cameras.
  22. That won't work. The encoding is done on the camera, if you want a video feed to have audio, you need a camera with integrated microphone, or with audio input so you can put an external microphone. The audio input on the NVR is not for recording audio on one camera/video stream. But if you want to connect the camera directly, you SADP to find it on the network and change the IP address to one that matches your network.
  23. All HDTVI/HDCVI recorders will record audio over the coaxial cable, no matter what manufacturer they are from. I am also from Europe, you should have no problems with Hikvision and Dahua. I do not know much about TVT other that it is s "small" Shenzhen company, I have never tried their units.
