50 camera system for grocery store

    LOL! Good one!
  3. Yikes! I wouldn't try that with 1 cheapo fixed camera... Much less 8-10 PTZs! Camera power supplies are not that expensive...

This is from my demo case, never permentley mounted. Like-new. I won't be selling these until they become available again in Feb-March. Good luck finding one new until then! (Just because you still see them in online stores does not mean they have them!) $625 plus shipping. Payments via Paypal or Google Checkout only. USA only.
  6. C and Ds can make great customers by the way! Not self promoting... I'm just saying. PM me if you'd like a list of the companies I know of in your area that best suit you...

Sorry... just now saw your post Bones. No, I still have it. You like??? You still have my contact info? Give me a shout!
  8. That's an interesting history lesson... we should share some stories! However, I find it odd that such an obviously large company should resort to stealing information on the internet. Can your company not afford to have a respectable R & D department? Sad state of affairs if they can't or won't.... It seems greed or bad business sense may have played/ or plays a role in your organization. Not good! I would advise prepping your resume!
  9. Just curious... what have YOU shared? All of your posts I've seen to-date were questions... Seems a little contradictory of your own understanding of how this site works....
  10. I'll admit, egos do flair up quite a bit in this place... However I do not think it plays a role in protecting strategic business/ product information. This is a highly debateable subject, has been brought up. countless times. Lots of people get sand in their arse cracks talking about the topic... For me personally, I'm a helpful guy. I believe getting and maintaining relationships with people is important. However, there is a balance... this is a public site, with LOTs of hits. You never know what eyes may come accross it. I'm pretty sure they have internet all over Texas and not just where I'm at... Also, most of the information/ experience professionals learn is earned. A lot of blood, sweat, tears, and money go into what we know. We pay our dues to know what we know. It's the best way. We'll share information privately amongst other respected colleagues, but sharing it all for the world to see is just plain bad for business. That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.
  11. Nuff said. Well I'm a spoiled, ignorant brat from TX, USA. Nice to meet you.
  12. Seriously guys, why are there so many great CCTV people coming from Russia??? What the hell...

Good to know! Thanks for the info! I did a little lighting/sign/neon work myself... service only though.
  14. I like the way you think! Brilliant! That's kind of what I already do... I can usually judge character fairly easily and walk away if I need to. Hard to do over the net though... The biggest problem is not all people have the integrity you do. Judging character isn't fool proof... I've wasted endless hours quoting/ designing when as soon as they get what they need, they fall off the face of the planet and leave me high and dry. It's forced me to be a little more vague in quotes... which can be a good thing too as it allows for wiggle room on equipment. A lot of the times, needs/ customer requests change when I finally get to roll up my sleeves and get into the project...

YES, I can see printed plates during the day. Have not seen any at night, but suspect it NOT to work. The good thing is this client is it's a semi-restricted area. No access control, but the people in the area generally are supposed to be. Having temp plates/ no plates would makes a vehicle stand out, and would definitely be the minority. Unless the application is near a car dealership, I would suspect this to be the case anywhere. Also, with paper plates those are easy to counterfeit. What's the significance of what they say?? Keep in mind we're still getting a clear vehicle description both day/night...

Not true... This turn key setup is extremely versatile... It just works and could work and numerous applications. It's easy, but must be carefully and thoughtfully installed as you obviously already know. By the way... this IS example looking up a hill, fairly steep grade at that.

What does this look like if the car has a smoked license plate cover? I've reviewed aprx 10 days worth of video... hundreds of vehicles not seen one yet. Also, we're catching plates coming AND going... we have front and rear plates in TX.
  18. That's me in a nut shell. But I don't know how I could have done it differently. Here's some simple examples. I needed a PIR capable of monitoring a foot path 320 yards from my house. Now, how much walkin' through the yellow pages do you think my fingers would have done to find an installer in my area who actually had experience in aiming one of these? I have a 50 W RayMax IR Illuminator. Local installers I have talked to have never even held one, let alone installed one. IP? What the heck is that? Port Forwarding? Is that when you mail something overseas via ship? There's a lot of knowledge on this forum, but the air gets pretty thin elsewhere. Best, Christopher lol! i know what you mean. I live/ work in a pretty big market... you wouldn't believe the companies I compete against... Northern had a local IP Roadshow... One guy raised his hand and actually asked "what do you mean by router and switch." This "guy" had a shirt on for one of the largest CCTV installing companies in the area... wow...
  19. I did some informal consulting for a small hospital a part of a HUGE corporation... let me put it this way... i think I could make better money doing residential. lol!
  20. I'm curious what you meant by this... was that sarcasm or no? Hard to tell through keyboards...
  21. LOL! That's hilarious on so many levels.... brilliant!
  22. LOL! Let me just make it clear.... there is NOTHING wrong with any of these types of people.... All just observations I've made... may not even be correct/ accurate. There's a place for all of them... I'll always try to help if I can, but it needs to make business sense too.
  23. Well I wanted to help but there comes a time when REASON is no longer in any part of the equation... Your ego got in the way of allowing people to help you, just as it is now. So....Good luck! You'll do OK on your own...
  24. +1 for Avermedia... great products... However, buyer be ware: Where you buy also matters... support? warranty? in stock? returns/ exchanges? honesty? commitment? all questions you need to be asking... all things that mean I know tom well enough to know that if can help, he will...
