    DDNS

Are there any free ddns services these days that do not require the monthly renewal process? I'm having trouble finding any... Thanks

    DDNS

I need a DDNS update tool for Windows, not a standalone dvr.

  8. Sorry if this has been brought up.... but does any know of an ethernet over powerline adapter that has integrated poe? Thx
  9. Anyone else noticing the strange similarities between the two? I wonder who is making what for who... Could explain why Vivotek has been getting better these days...

    Powerline w/ poe

I found that too. Was unable to find a US distributor. The sales/ support emails for that manufacturer come back rejected. I have a special application with a limited footprint to work with... would sure be nice if I didn't have to try and cram an injector on top of a powerline adapter in the small space.
  11. lots of interesting info in this lawsuit... https://lcdclass.com/Portals/0/Documents/First%20Amended%20Complaint%20for%20Damages.pdf

    Bosch MIC 440

Just curious if anyone has any experience with? http://products.boschsecurity.us/en/TAMS/products/bxp/SKU23178327152950760203-CATM85e91996f45b2b2ddee1ad9af8f80bba Using my past experience of analog ptz cams... I spent the afternoon ripping one apart looking for dip switches/ pots to set ID, baud, and what not... haha
  13. We have 2 gates on a large property, that need to be opened remotley. We'll install doorbell style buttons at both gates, tied into an encoder on an IP camera system that will iin turn take snapshots and send the picture to the property owners... not a big deal done this countless times. The hard part is the gate control via phone. The VMS solution we will be using does not support i/o control via the mobile app.... Here is a system dedsigned for remote gate control, but it has some drawbacks. Controller: http://www.insteon.net/2412N-smartlinc-central-controller.html Gate appliance: http://www.smarthome.com/74551/I-O-Linc-INSTEON-Garage-Door-Control-Status-Kit/p.aspx 1. Currently I have no idea if the shop (I already installed ptp here for internet/ network) near the gates will be on the same power phase so these things will work. 2. Will have to enclose these things in something since they are designed for indoor use. 3. I would rather not use these powerline communicators, as I have to burry wire going to the gates from shop for the doorbell buttons anyway. I guess I could just run ethernet out there and mount all 3 devices outside, but that would suck....
  14. Anyone tried using the consumer grade NAS devices with Mobotix? Any luck? I'm looking at 1TB units on Amazon for around $150 or less. Any reason why that's a bad idea?

    Bosch MIC 440

issue: no longer responding to encoder's ptz commands. protocol, baud, ID set correctly on encoder. using a different MIC 440 it works great using the same encoder... I'm downloading the universal camset program right now to play with to see if I can at least verify communication with the camera. Would be nice if it was just a com setting on the camera itself... I'd rather not send one off if I don't have to.

current does not equate to voltage. current = power bill each month.

    66 block

without cheating and using google... i believe like 75 volts on the hook and about 50 volts off??? i'm probably wrong...
