Green drives do NOT work fine. I know from personal experience and so does Tom. I've tried them in cheap 4 channel standalones and pc based Aver units... Took me a couple times to learn the hard way. The drives may not be the only problem, but that is where you need to start. That's the advice you're getting from more than 1 person that does this for a living...but do what you want.
  2. All cctv cameras and cctv power suppliers I've used with barrel plugs, the outside of the plug is negative. The wire with a white stripe is positive.

    2 Way Audio Question

Except for a select few of IP cameras, don't buy cameras with built in mics. They are almost always cheap junk. Don't limit your camera selection to that... buy the mic seperately. Also, usually where you need to hear is not up in the corner where the camera is mounted. Mount the mic as close to the action as possible.
  4. I know the client will run on anything, but what about the server? Will it work on a Win7 platform? Only saw Vista on their site...

    Home system analog or IP

Largely thanks to Rory! Lol Everytime I hear the name Dauha I get the urge to say "bless you."

Need 8 channel dvr my house

    Where are you located?
  7. Say what?? Decoders have nothing to do with any VMS. They output video from an ip camera or encoder.

    CNB MIR3000 SMPS Adapter

It does, yes. I've had a few show up bad though, make sure you double check it before you take it to a site.
  9. Yikes! No bucket truck for those light poles?! Anyone else see that flimsy looking metal pole leaning near power lines? That's all around a pretty scarry insall buddy. Lol
  10. Oh boy... Care to entertain us with snapshots?
  11. That one's a year old or so... so maybe it's the older ones that had separate wiring to that LED assembly. Last one I used was seperate... I remember now. That was about 6 months ago... That ir would be no where near powerful enough for lighting up a driveway. Probably throws a 10-15 degree beam maybe 15-20' outdoors.

    Self contained in car camera????

I was wondering how long it would take all the Chinese suppliers to chime in on this thread. Cheap crappy cameras with built in storeage... and they all "have excellant quality with reasonable price." Lol In case sarcasm doesn't translate well, that means your products are junk. I won't waste any more of my money testing anything that comes from China. If you're willing to send me a free sample, I'd be happy to submit an honest and unbiased opinion. If you have nothing to be ashamed of, you'd love the publicity.

ahahahahaha you have to read this... hilarious http://www.networkcamerareviews.com/forums/about707.html
  14. Lol ya... I even logged into a demo unit. Interface is identical
  15. I would not recommend buying from Amazon or just any random online store. Believe me, you're going to want knowledgable technical support with a camera like that.
  16. Very cool... well it's hard to tell the camera quality through the screen and what not. Let us know when you get one mounted outside, would love to see that.
  17. Fascinating! I wonder if Samsung rebrands all of their DVRs now? Maybe just the budget units? I thought they still did some stuff in house... The units I use are no-name, I buy direct from the real manufacturer in Korea. But I am aware of at least 3 other big name "manufacturers" that have re-branded the same units. Make that 4 now of with Samsung. I'd be very interested in a snapshot or 2 of one of the cameras!
  18. Also, that DVR sounds eerily similar to the ones I use... Wondering if Samsung is rebranding... Does the Chrome/ Firefox/ Safari browser client look anything like this?
  19. Glad to hear you found a solution! I would be interested in seeing camera picture quality. Would you mind posting a snapshot of day and night? Thanks!
  20. Rory's right.... there's a photocell on that board. Can't remember if the camera uses that just for the IR to kick on or also uses it to switch beween day/ night. On my analog cams there's a feature in the OSD to use video level or to use the photocell. I don't think that option exists in ACTi's configuration...
