IP camera question acti 1231
bpzle replied to JohnEF's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Shooting through windows is fine, as long as the glassis clean. However, don't ever use a camera with integrated IR such as the 1231. Also, be aware that the closer the traget area is, the shorter the mounting location should be... unless your goal is to capture the tops of people's heads. -
What make/ model HDDs are you using? Are you storing video on the same partition or disk as your OS? What size PSU do you have, and is it brand new? Is this a clean install Windows? Is antivirus disabled? Do you have all the latest drivers for each of your PC componets?

Videolarm may have something... Also look at http://www.wrensolutions.com/products/video_surveillance/hardware/housings_and_mounts.aspx Can you take that goofy looking visor off the camera?

How about a computer monitor with DVI and VGA inputs... Use a VGA to DVI adapter for one of the DVRs. Use the monitor's menu to switch between the 2 sources.

A device to alarm at 140dB or higher is only going to work if the shots are in extreamly close range... I think the key would listening for certain freqencies past say 95dB...

I've only been into 2 games. Golden Eye and MW. A couple years ago I gave my sis the 64. She still plays it, sent me this pic a couple days ago. LOL! Brings back memories... They just don't make em like they used to!

Me or Mike? I haven't seen any missed calls

haha... ya there was a 6 month period of my life were I did nothing but work and play MW. Gained 40lbs, almost lost my wife, it was a bad deal. So much that I didn't buy MW2, and I'm trying to stay away from Black Ops. Now I just occasionally play MW... I know it like the back of my hand so the fun level is low enough where I don't feel like I need to play 24/7. That's a good thing.

http://www.fenixlight.com/viewproduct.asp?id=130 Just ordered that for the old lady... Looked like a neat gadget. She's in school to be an RN so maybe she'll use it. If not I'll steal it back.

OMG! Just looked at the link. GET RID OF THAT THING RIGHT NOW! I spent 3 days trying to get one of those pieces of crap to work for a customer. They bought it from someone else a year or 2 ago. They only hired me to add a few cameras to it. Like an idiot, I agreed that with installation charge of the cameras, I would get their existing DVR online. After 3 days of trying to get that cheap Chinese piece of crap to work, I gave up. They understood it wasn't my fault... I've installed hundreds of DVRs from countless manufacturers... Never had problems like with that horrible thing. My advice is to return that POS and get your money back... even if you get charged a restocking fee. If they won't take back, pour gasoline on it and set it on fire.
