Hello. Never used Kodicom, only heard of it on this forum. What is the longest up and running job you've done with Kodicom products? Any issues? I'm concerned with their reliability...

    Email Notification

Gmail will only work if the DVR supports SSL. Settings are as follows: (Outgoing) Server: smtp.gmail.com Port: 465 SSL: Enabled Username: YourGmailAccount Pasword: YourGmailPassword I've yet to have an ISP block Gmail's outgoing ports, but I suppose it's possible as most ISP's block some kind of ports. In this case, you can use your ISP's email and SMTP server. Sometimes you can also get away with using your ISP's SMTP server without SSL, if your DVR doesn't support SSL. I've seen it work with Charter.
  3. In this day and age I would forget using modulator Whole industry going IP You know what I mean Ton's of HD IP streamers ( HD Network Player) with any input u want just my 2 cents Not ideal when you have multiple TVs... sucks that you'd have to get multiple decoders. Plus you'd still have to pull new cable... assuming there would range limitations for wifi. Could get expensive and messy... VGA baluns and a VGA distribution amp would be better, but still not ideal IMO.

    Image fading on cameras (sample)

I guess I missed this was happening on all cameras... Yes, if the same power supply is common between all then that's your problem. What type of power supply are you using? A fused distribution box? A single "wall wart"?
  5. Duh! But I want something more practical for residential jobs! And HD! Modulators used to be a dime a dozen... still are... Where's the 1080P technology? Should I run to the patent office?
  6. I wouldn't bother. That raises a lot of red flags... Why would you spend more money with this guy if he doesn't even back what he's already sold you? See what the thewireguys can offer as far as an upgrade. Franky, a service call on a 4 channel unit that's a few years old and out of warranty is a waste of money and time IMO.
  7. Anyone ever used a digital CATV modulator for an HDTV tuner on a plasma/ lcd? Surely they exist, just never seen one... Could be a pretty neat solution to stream 1080p to multiple TVs... I bet MarkerTek has em.
  8. I'm not familiar with Fios... how does the signal get from the DMARC outside on your house to your TVs? Do they modulate the signal digitally onto the RG6 coax to distribute on existing cabling in the house?
  9. have the car tinted, but cut out circular holes with a razor blade for the lenses... win win. keep cool AND hard to see there are cameras (can be a theft item in themselves).
  10. Can't say first hand on that equipment... but I've been burned multiple times on cheap sweatshop crap off Ebay... No tech support, no warranty support, unreliable, misleading advertising.... you get what you pay for...

    Similar to this

Ya, a 1000mA 12vDC wall wart, some wire nuts/ dolphins, CAT5, and some video baluns...
  12. Thx for info see if u can find out what protocol they are using for Mega IP cam Thx Called tech support this morning. That was one of the first questions I had too... I believe they said it's the same as Axis 3014... Not sure of the model, but definitely an Axis protocol.
  13. Did you enable ALL Active X/ multimedia related in internet settings? Also, the web client only works through IE... I've tested your version of Nuuo via web client successfully on both XP and various versions of Vista... no problems. Also Also... in the Nuuo console you can configure various network/ remote settings under Config/ Network Service. Try changing the Live Streaming/ Remote playback ports to something different than default. Don't forget to adjust your router's port forwarding accordingly. Verify proper communication on www.CanYouSeeMe.org It's possible that something on your network is communicating on the same ports, causing intermittent issues with your remote connection.

  15. wow buddy... hate to say it, but it sounds like you'd be better off just upgrading your system. 4 channel DVRs are so cheap these days that unless it's under warranty, I'd just chunk it...

    1. If you crimped the BNC connectors onto RG-59 yourself, I'd say they connector is not making good contact or there is a strand of braid shorted to the di-electric.. If this is "simple" premade cable, then it needs to be replaced. 2. It looks like a crappy camera. Bad angle at that... what needs to be seen on the roof tops?

    Need help - DVR Files

Sounds fishy... but I'll help. First, I'd install that DVR Client. Click on everything, starting with "About" in a menu, if there is one... That client is probably your best hope for finding the OEM, and eventually a player. After you install the DVR Client, take a screen shot and post it to the forum. Someone will probably recognize it.
  19. Yes. Some sort of wireless video transmitter will work. Just be ware of the sweatshop junk resold on Ebay for 5 times it's worth... This stuff is cheap and often not supported. Also know that with wireless it will be unreliable, and you will loose a significant amount of resolution in the transmission. Even with the expensive VideoCom units I've worked with... There are a million and one reasons why pros will tell you to just run the cable to the TV you want to view it on... but feel free to be a cowboy in cowboy land.
  20. And hence why I wont spend the dollars on them yet, thats 4-5 times the cost of an equivalent non IP camera, which has better low lighting I was looking at these same bullets actually .. but i just figured it wont do what i want .. and you proved that with the image above. Which image? The nighttime?
  21. BTW- I just noticed USAG is stepping into the MP IP world... http://usaginc.com/viewspec.php?sku=US-AVC4-2-MPT-I2 I'm trying to setup a remote demo now... Can't wait to check it out. The price surprised me.
  22. Now that you say that... I think the focus may be a tad soft. When I mounted the thing a couple months back I think I was on my 5th Fosters. But NO! I swear I didn't scratch it! lol
