I've been searching for a while now for a new DVR. At the moment we have a Samsung 2040p (older version of the 5042p). We are planning to expand, and I've just receive an offer for the Hikvision 7204HI-VS.
Looking at the specs, I have a couple of questions, maybee I can find the answers here
I use the recorder to record at maximum quality
The compression is MPEG4 vs. H.264, is there any quality loss?
With the samsung I can record 4 camera's fullscreen and real-time (and playback fullscreen and real-time), can I do that at the 7204HI-VS?
With the Samsung I could watch a video, while recording, is that possible with the Hikvision?
And finally, what are the remote-view options on the Hikvision. Samsung has a program called smartviewer, from witch I can watch all 4 camera's at home.
