Hi guys, just joined the site very interesting. First of all let me say i have no knowledge of CCTV systems, however i am researching it for my company. we are interested in installing a 16 camera system, suppliers have suggested coax/siamese Rg 59 cable and others recommended cat 5 with baluns. The longest distance is approximately 800 ft from the DVR and power supply. My questions are would the signal and power be affected by the distance and are these cables shielded against other signals as we operate in an area which has a lot of radio frequency? One other concern is at one location we are installing two cameras in some cases which of the cables would be recommeded. Please any other advice or recommendations would be greatly appriciated.
