griffonsystems replied to griffonsystems's topic in Security Cameras
did the walkthrough and convinced them that just putting in regular cameras to cover the inside of the dock doors is the right way to go, no need for covert -

griffonsystems replied to cctv_down_under's topic in Security Cameras
i did play around with the one in the pelco booth, it was very responsive and did well with the indoor lighting.. not able to zoom as much as the spec 3 but for indoor aps it should be great. i'll second their tech support.. one of the best -

griffonsystems replied to andy jinks's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
and residental installation and commerical installation are totally different, if you try and start with residential you will give up after your second job unless you like fishing wire threw drywall and patching up all your holes drop ceilings are your friend start with a convience store or a liquor store with 4 cameras, etc -
Large Project: Enterprise DVR, 60+ Cameras
griffonsystems replied to jpalazzi's topic in Digital Video Recorders
i agree with kr. with a nvr if the system goes down you lose all 60 cameras, if you have the cameras distributed on several dvrs then at most u lose 16 at a time. casinos with hundreds of cameras use 8channel and even 4 channel dvrs so i wouldnt just dismiss the dvr as an option my 2 cents -
why would you put this pricing out in the open forum???
-
picture quality is with the camera and the lens not the power used, but if you are looking at a run over 500ft prob wise to go with 24vac no you dont need a 3rd wire to ground ac - at least i have never needed one
-
a lot of outdoor housing only use 24vac so for those i always run ac.

i just finished the scrapyard install on saturday - gotta luv working outside on a 20ft lift for 3 days in 20degree weather (of course im sick now) anyway we installed 6 wireless transmitters from microtek and i was nervous about what kind of picture they would deliver but i was very impressed.. great resolution.. we had clean lines of sight for all 6 but one of the cameras was mounted inside a steel structure that had a roof and 3 sides but that camera came out great too.. i cant say enough about this product i will always use them for wireless and will stop preaching that wireless is crap and it doesnt work very easy to install and not a lot of repositioning, etc they were also very helpful on the phone when we had questions..

if you like sushi and you are on the corp card i would recommend the place in the caesars forum shops(cant remember the name but its on the top floor where the escalators are in that mall).. i was there last year at had a great lunch (70bucks just me).. we hit the steak place in the bellagio last year - called "prime" it was unreal but be prepared to drop some cash - the steaks are 50bucks plus and you can find wine on the list for 20,000 i think ill try and hit a good place at least once - maybe delmonicos or one of the new places in the wynn cheers! pg

does anyone else have customers that ask the question "are there cameras that only zoom not pan/tilt?" i think the question behind it is really do you have a cheaper ptz camera. but have you guys ever heard of a camera that has maybe 2 different focal points where you could remotely go from wide shot to tight. thx pg
-
ive looked at covi, good stuff but i would have to run utp to the camera i think or am i wrong. can you explain how the digital zoom works, you connect these box cameras with a data line like you would a ptz and control them with a pelco joystick and/or throught the dvr??? thx pg
-
as i thought no one has heard of anything like this
-
i think i am going to break down and pay for a one day pass on thursday of the show. has anyone been to any of the classes and is anyone going this year? thx pg
