  1. Hi,

I see alot of views, and no replies... meaning I've asked the dumbest question around!

Anyway, I've done some research, it seems that some cards (not the one I've got) support DirectX, one of those cards is the GeoVision GVXXX series. They are damn expensive (compared to what I've got) for a good frame rate, but I think I'll have to dish out the cash for it.

    Any comments?

PS: The DirectX allows me to access the video feed using standard DirectX API's

  2. Hi,

I have a bit of a problem. I have recently started developing smart software for my house, and as part of this software it includes a portion where the house will be aware of its surroundings. I had my mind set on using existing CCTV technologies, and as such I had purchased a T-S808R DVR card.

It has 8-channels for input, and can control PTZ dome camera's. It uses a standard Philips SAA7130 chipset. I was planning on reading directly from the driver on windows and processing the resulting video, however I am struggling to get at the base driver as it seems that the chinese manufacturing company has made things very proprietry.

I have in turn attempted to read the data from the network broadcast as done by the manufacturer's software. This has also failed miserably.

I am posting to this forum in the hope that someone can either:

    1) Tell me I'm a dumb-ass and explain how to read from the driver in windows (using either C++ or C#)

    2) Tell me I'm a dumb-ass and explain how to interpret the network feed from the manufacturer's software

    3) Tell me that I wasted my money and tell me which DVR card I should have spent my money on instead

    Thanks in advance,
