    DRV and Multiplexor problem

Thanks Soundy, I think thats the best option!! I never thought of sending the signal through MUX first (silly me) I've always used to just split the signal in between with T-connector... But what you've suggested sounds like a proper way of doing it. The MUX i've got has in and out BNC female so it should be ok I use color cameras with IR leds. Thanks for your help!

    DRV and Multiplexor problem

hi, the T-connectors are by the DVR, all cameras are same make and model. Did not quite understand the last question... If i unplug the MUX from t-con the camera shows up on DVR fine.

    DRV and Multiplexor problem

Hi Soundy, thanks for your reply! the multiplexor is FS-204 "4 Camera Duplex Colour Multiplexer" more at http://www.henrys.co.uk/cctv/cmp043.htm the DVR card is Kodicom KMC8800 If what you're saying is true how come 1 camera works on both, 2 on MUX and 1 doesnot work at all ? thanks for your help, Tim
  6. hi, recently installed a 8 channel DVR (pc based) with 7 cameras and multiplexor (quad). The problem i'm having is when I connect them all up, the cameras that connect to both DVR and multiplexor act weirdly: - 1 camera is no image on both; - 2 cameras is no image only on DVR, works on multiplexor; - 1 camera works on both; nothing wrong with cameras as I've been swapping them around. when i unplug cameras from multiplexor they all work fine on DVR and vice versa. the signal(cable) is split with BNC T-connector My guess is that the camera psu in not giving enough power to support another device in the chain (multiplexor). the PSU is 8channel 12V 5 AMP Anyone came across similar situation? Any help appreciated. Thanks, Tim
  7. Hi fellas, Seagate has recently made a reluctant statement about firmware fault in their Barracuda 7200RPM Hard Drives, mainly manufactured in Dec2008. It relates to LBA-0 appearance in BIOS heres some links http://seagate.custkb.com/seagate/crm/selfservice/search.jsp?DocId=207931 To check whether your HDD is affected you can here https://apps1.seagate.com/rms_af_srl_chk/rms_af_serial_check_index.jsp To download update http://seagate.custkb.com/seagate/crm/selfservice/search.jsp?DocId=207957&Hilite=
  8. I would not call it an invention, as DigiNet (kodicom) already using VNC server as ip camera source. I was wondering if there is something for GeoVision and other systems.
  9. What about the PC based systems? Thanks
  10. Thanks dont know why but its empty
  11. Thanks for your reply Matt, I'm aware of the hardware solution, what i asked for was the software solution to the problem. As sometimes its really hard to get the coax to the POS. By the way fitting the Video Card with the AV out is cheaper than getting the converter So I presume such thing dont exist. Well there's a chance to make money for the programmers than
  12. does it exist? if so - is it free? thanks
  13. How do you configure it to stream the video? I could not find any TCP port settings or anything.... I know DIGINET(kodicom) can use VNC as IP camera emulation but it has some bugs. Hello Jason, I actually wrote you guys a couple of emails regarding this when I used to work at Subtotal. The main problem that if you restart the POS the CCTV PC then fail to reestablish connection and stays as Screen Capture not connected untill you restart it as well. The other problem that its keep crashing if you've got the VNC on the CCTV PC as well. Also do you have a version of remote client that reestablish connection automatically? The problem that many customers have is when they try to watch several stores and it looses connection they have to reconnect manually and reenter username and password. Like Geo CenterV2 has a constant monitoring with no user interfeirence . thanks
  14. Well, as I know it only does a text layer over some other video, for instance over the camera that looking at the till. I'm more interested in the actual video of what happening on the POS Thanks for the reply though.
