They are slightly better than Sharp CCD's but definitely loose out to the Sony Super HAD. In fact, a few years back when I was using it I notice that the street lights is shown with a reddish tone. For true color representaion will still go for the Sony.

4 port capture card driver & software neeeded!
msecure replied to kksoon's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
It could be Avermedia or Skyview because they use the same card. -
The way I see it you can only put one at the front & one behind the vehicle. What if the accident happens on the left or right?

If you need to view remotely using IE the 9100A is a bad choice. It's using mjpeg & it's going to be slow. If you need to view a comparison of the 9100A with a generic mpeg4, sent me a PM & I'll try to hook up a remote site with both the units for you to do a comparison.

So, any comments on their software, Wes? -
Well, during the day is fine, once it's night time you'll only see some white rings because of the reflection.

I have bad experience with wireless tranceiver/receiver(low end type, not those expensive types like Trango) so if you ask me, I will not recommend it unless money is not an issue. As for wireless video server, they would definitely do the job. In fact if it's a D1 resolution, it's gonna look better then most DVR. Problem is, have yet to find a good wlan video server with supporting software. Am interested in Solar power for CCTV too myself but so far have not find anything reasonably price.

Actually, that reply was for TCS. How many camera & how far away is yours?

Use 8 units of Mpeg4 Wireless IP Camera. If quality of picture is not very important you can use the Axis 207W.

tieing DVR into LAN via Wireless options ???
msecure replied to CraigVM62's topic in Computers/Networking
Just plug in an AP & configure it as Wireless Client. The Linksys WRT54GL would be fine for your case. -
Mine is different from yours, Loop! 2nd Generation & is not compatible to the 1st generation DVR but I don't know if there's a firmware upgrade for the old one. I tried using the old 1 on mine but it doesn't work. If you have a demo link of the old 1 please PM me. The casing is also different, it comes with a jog dial now for fast forward & frame by frame but still not available on the remote view. Have tried up to 1280x1024 on remote view without any problem. IE is same as old 1 though. For 313-313, will PM you the link when I set up the demo in a couple of days.

I see the remote GUI on IE is quite good & the timeline playback on remote is excellent for a stand alone so could you please elaborate a bit on your opinion above? It could be we are using different versions of OEM as it's actually from Korea.

If I remember correctly, you don't need a CMS software, as long as bandwith allows, you can connect to as many DVR's as you like & provided your screen is big enough! You can even mixed the local with the remote together!

They are a Polish software house & they use korean dvr cards. Their software was way ahead of Geovision a few years back but lately the version 8 & above from GV is comparable. I don't know what pricing you were offer but what I got last time was even higher then Geovision! If it's pricing is good then it could be a GV killer in your market. At least their PDA/Symbian/Java remote view softwares is superb including their PC base java view.

Extending - Monitor - Mouse and Keyboard
msecure replied to cctv_down_under's topic in System Design
Look for "Cat5 VGA Extender" The passive one can goes up to 135 meter but I normally will not push it to the limit so 100 meter would be fair. The active one can goes up to 300 meter on paper! You can also look up for "CAT5 Keyboard Mouse Extender" also can reach 100 meter. Google it! -

Have you sent KT&C an email? -
To the IP recording software whether it's wire or wireless it's just an IP number so there's no issue about mixing wire & wireless. Talitor's products looks like OEM from others but if your quantity is not big I think they should be ok! Also, you can consider using a 4 port AP in Client or WDS mode so you can use wired IP cameras all the way. They are more stable than wireless IP Cameras.
