    Moving away from pc based

Do you have any problem with the remote view on Active-tek? It stops for 1/2 a second then resume? But their picture quality is damn good when set to D1.
  2. Actually I can get about 3-5 FPS on GPRS using the Diginet PDA. So if you are using Geovision, then I think the problem is in their PDA software. I can hardly get 1FPS when I was testing the Geovision on the same PDA/Network

    RS-422 / RS-485 Controller or Receiver

It's just a matter of buying a RS232-485 Converter & also a multi-protocol decoder board & you can control your PTZ locally or remotely. Total cost below USD120 approximately excluding shipping.

Plan Design for CCTV Jobs, which software

Am using Visio too but VideoCad looks cool! Thanks Stanislav for the url. Will download the demo & try it!
  5. I use mine without the GV-Net but it's a similar item so no issue there! My advice is to trouble shoot the item 1 by 1. 1. Is your com port functioning? 2. Could the Vido be defective? Try using a different DVR to test it if possible. 3. Also, the Geovision is a bit sickenening when it comes to setting the PTZ. If I remember correctly there is 2 steps instead of 1 to do a simple thing! But I don't really remember because I help out a dealer of mine who bought a VIDO from me.
  6. The Vido supports multi-protocol for the PTZ functions. Just choose Pelco D on your Vido by setting the correct dip switch position & do the same for the Geovision. I presume you have an RS232-485 connected to your serial port & the cable is connected to the Vido as well?
