Picking out a prepackaged system
msecure replied to bkvanbek's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
No, if IP PTZ you won't even need a separate pair of cable to control via RS485. Do you have power source near the gate? -
How long has this camera been install? It will have some improvement if you clean up the glass a bit. Also, cam 2, 3 & 4 is pointing at a light source at night so might need to be re-position. Definitely if you change to SDI or IPC IR @1080p it will be 4 times better.

Do you mean to say you want to write a software like the FaceVACS?

Picking out a prepackaged system
msecure replied to bkvanbek's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Only the first item is IP/NVR. The last 2 is SDI & you will need extender device with both SDI & IPC if your camera to the gate is 600-700 feet. -
Well, he is right in a certain kind of way, if you have good lightings when your HD camera capture the events, it will be in color. If not you will only see black & white like this.

Irrespective of whether you choose IP or SDI, they both have IR camera that you can use for night vision.

Dahua 2 Megapixel vs 3 Megapixel NON PTZ
msecure replied to hdtvjeff's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
As long as your 48V POE injector is 802.3af standard it will power the Dahua IPC with POE. As for the curved view it is due to your bullet & mini dome having a lens size of 3.6mm or below whereby your Dahua PTZ minimum lens view is 4.7mm. There is no magic that comes with varifocal, it's the adjustment that counts. If you set your varifocal to 2.8mm it will be worst than your dome(in terms of curved image) Thank you for the thorough response, so if I may ask above what mm setting is "normal"? I hate the curved look, asides from the PTZ magic what should I look for in the future? Thanks, Jeff Most 4mm IPC will give you normal view without the curve. Does this look curved to you? -

Totally false statement I second that!

Yes, SDI is plug & play system without proprietary protocol like IPC. I have so far tested my SDI DVR with camera from almost 10 vendors & all of them works. BTW, if the info & pictures on the Costco pages are correct, they are pairing the HIK SDI cam DS-2CC51D3S-VPIR & DS-2CC11D3S-IR with the Dahua SDI DVR.

If you have existing coaxial runs, SDI is the way to go. Most people have a misconception that SDI is more expensive than IP, including myself until just a couple of months ago.

You can give it a shot via the PC using RS232 firmware upgrade but that depends which model of the 3MP you have. Also, can consider taking russian language course

Couple questions mostly about remote viewing
msecure replied to Wallboy's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
If I'm following what he's after. I think he wants to use something better than the D1 resolution for the sub-stream but he doesn't want something as high as the main stream due to bandwidth. Question for you Wallboy, have you actually seen a snapshot or video from the D1 sub-stream? I can post some screenshot for you to take a look at. It's not bad at all. Remember that the recording happens on the main stream and that will have the full resolution so you can always playback the recorded video if you're not sure about what you're seeing in the sub-stream. One nice thing about my Q-See NVR (and I don't know if all NVR's behave this way) is that, I can playback my videos remotely right after it's recorded. So, you want to watch something in HD remotely? It's there. Here is a screen shot of 720p mainstream compare with secondary on D1 on my 4.7" Android And actually my mainstream is 1080p capture from a Nexus 10 which is 2560x1600 -

No, cannot work, once you set camera mainstream @1080p even if you duplicate that channel on another window, it's still 1080p. You cannot have another channel of the same camera@720p -
Thanks, only thing new I notice is the Network info with netload & network test.

How do you stream live video from 25 ft away?
msecure replied to jbak's topic in General Digital Discussion
Sorry, I don't mean PC monitor & you are not using DVI to HDMI right? Maybe you can bring the cam & the HDMI converter to an electrical shop & test it on the LCD TV. -

Have you try using another LCD monitor with HDMI? I have tested my SDI camera with HDMI converter recently at an electrical shop and I notice not all brands LCD can support it. -
No, you'll miss some area on the left & some on the right if 720p compare to D1. Top/bottom not really noticeable.

My sentiments exactly, with today 3G/LTE technology and full HD mobile phones & tablets, it will be a waste for us to view only SD. Luckily, I manage to find an SDI DVR that allows me to view/playback full HD with either PC/phone/tablet. In fact 95% of the settings can even be done on a mobile. However, if bandwith is no good the video will be pixelised but that is expected. As for the rest of the NVR that is either Dahua/HIK OEM, you can actually select the mainstream when using a PC via browser or their CMS software. In fact I notice Dahua latest 960H DVR has gotten smart with their IE view, when viewing multiple channels, it is on sub-stream, only when you switch to single channel it will display the mainstream. Most probably their NVR will adopt this feature or maybe the latest firmware update may already have this feature. -
Hikvision DS-2CD2732F-I vs Dahua IPC-HDBW3300
msecure replied to pvansh's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Yes it will work via the Onvif protocol but it will only do full time recording, motion record is not supported. Added:30/9 Just tested the HIK with Dahua NVR & motion recording is working on both the K&D TI based IPC & HIK IPC -
Hikvision DS-2CD2732F-I vs Dahua IPC-HDBW3300
msecure replied to pvansh's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Is varifocal important or night time view? Because this will give better night time effect DS-2CD3332(D)-I. Both do matter. I believe the 2CD272F has varifocal and IR. Is the night vision not that great? How does this compare with the Dahua? Any recommendations on where to purchase from? Thanks. For me when it comes to IR, I prefer those that don't have curve cover. They tend to give some reflections after some time when dust or whatever deposit onto the curve dome cover. Flat or no glass like the DS-2CD3332(D)-I is my prefer choice. And if you can test out the area that you are going to fix the IPC, you can always choose the appropriate lens size instead of getting varifocal. -
Your problem has been solved?
