Not able to view cameras on web viewer ( pc viewer d6)
eebozz posted a topic in Computers/Networking
Hi, I recently switched from Vista to Xp on my laptop. After doing so, now I can't get a picture to come up on my pc viewer. I can log in and control my dvr from my pc viewer ,but no picture will come up. All my activeX controls are enabled. I can still view pc viewer on my desktop, so it has to be something on my laptop. I would appriciate any suggestions. -

My bad, I had the ssh shell turned on , once I turned it off video magically appeared............. Now if I could only view my dvr, I'd be a happy man. -

I downloaded this app to my iphone, but I only get sound, no video display. I even reloaded it, and still cannot see video when I go to one of it's preloaded video streams. Sure wished I could get it to work. Any suggestions? -
Once I installed the proper video display drivers on this particular pc, everything is A-okay... I now have a picture on my web viewer program.

I'm having the exact same problem, after changing from Vista to Xp. I can log into my dvr's web viewer, and I can control my dvr through it. But, can't get a picture. I've tried everything! If you figure it out, can you post your fix? Thanxxx

I'm still very new to all this. I think ,I have everything set up right, I've done my port forwarding and registered a domain name. I can go onto my laptop and desktop and view my dvr with my pc viewer software, but when I try typing in my IP address or my domain name in the IE search window a box comes up asking for my username/password for my router. I thought that my( pc viewer )username/password box would show up instead. Am I missing something? I'm only a few weeks into this stuff, and I really don't know what the hell I am doing... I would appriciate any help on this.

I'm using a Linksys WRT54G2 router and a Ray sharp dvr, But I'm pretty sure my problem is with a setting on my laptop. Because, I can now view the cameras through IE from my desktop.

Okay, after tweeking my router configs , firewall and active x, I can now view my cameras when I enter the dvr IP address ,But only from my desktop computer. When I enter my dvr's IP address on my laptop I get (cannot display webpage ) I'm almost there, But I can't think of what is causing my laptop to not be able to connect. I know it has to be something simple. I would be happy to hear any suggestions...

Hello, I have been able to view my dvr from my remote computer for the past week. Now all of a sudden, when I input my user name and password and try to access my dvr through the internet using pc viewer d6, I get a message that says,(-3) No Stream time out. Can anyone please help me? I double checked everything ,and all my parimeters seem to be the same as when it was working. I'm not exactly computer literate, so any advice would be extremely helpful. Thanks in advance.

Okay, don't laugh. I bought this dvr on ebay, I was upgrading from a time lapse recorder. The unit is a Ray Sharp 4-ch 500 gb. Surprisingly, the picture quality is pretty good. But, probably not as quality of a unit as most of the people have that come to this site. I thought this would be a good starter unit. Has anyone ever heard of this brand? and if so, what are the pros and cons on it? Thanks, eebozz

Yes, I tried and neither computers would connect. Is it better to use a domain name instead of the ip address of my dvr? Shouldn't the ip address of the dvr never change ,unlike a dynamic ip address? Thanks.

I log into the IP address of the dvr, I just went to the network section on my dvr and updated the user name and password and when I exited the menu a message on my tv said ,"new Mac address please reboot" After I rebooted the dvr ,I tried to view my dvr remotely and for what ever reason it's working again. I don't have a clue what happened... Thank you very much for trying to help me. terry.
