Pelco and Milestone - can they play nice?
UnderCover posted a topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I work safety and security for a large employer - 100 sites, all with between 12 and 80 cameras. Want to transition into Milestone, but looking for a safeguard in case people don't buy in to the new VMS. We want to be able to revert to Pelco IP Client if we choose. I cannot find an answer for my question....Can a Pelco NVR be used to feed the IP system to Milestone? -
Didn't know where this topic would fit, but here it goes. We have interactive computer kiosks for my employer. We are strategically placing them in public places, and retailers in the area. They are very light, and easy to move, causing two concerns. 1)they may tip over onto a customer or child and 2) They could easily be stolen or vandalized. I am looking for a way to secure them at each site. Main problem is that we don't own the locations, so any modification to the facility may be an obstacle. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Pelco and Milestone - can they play nice?

So I need a generic NVR/Server that can run both Pelco Sentry NVR Client, and Xprotect Enterprise. Anyone have an NVR they suggest for this setup? -
Hey all- Designing a system for an old school building. There is an area in the basement that is secluded, and has a prime opportunity for delinquency/crime. The ceilings are incredibly low. I am looking for a corner half dome so staff can see the corners, but ideally we want it to be a one-way mirror so that a camera can be mounted behind it. Does this exist?

Hello all- Here is the scoop. We oversee just shy of 100 medium to large facilities. We have been having issues with windows being broken pretty consistently at a handful of sites. We want something mobile, and easy to connect. Wifi/IP/or local DVR is fine. The kicker is that we need it to be inside of our building, covering the exterior through a window. I know that IR doesn't illuminate through windows. This camera would ideally fuction just as a trail camera (trigger on motion). I know that Logitech makes "Logitech Alert™ 750i Indoor Master" which I have heard about people using for similar situations but it doesn't seem to have a flash and I cannot find anything on low light performance. Ideally, we would have a fleet of about 4-6 of these so they have to be relatively budget friendly. Ideas?

Hello all- I had joined a while back to get some technical help, and just returned to do some more research. I began my CCTV/IP experience in the retail setting, managing security at some very high risk locations at one of the nations largest retailers. Fast forward to now, I have left retail and moved into public education. I manage security at a large urban school district. I have definitely gotten some great information from this site, and think I will be using it a lot more going forward. Just thought I would introduce myself

I am currently running 5x 16 port Verint analog encoders, along with the Loronix DVR solution software. Our support contract just ran out, and I have an issue. I am seeing 6-10second skips in recorded video consistently. The boot drives have all been replaced, and all the ports are functioning. I ran tests on all the hard drives and all seem to be functioning normally. Anyone got any idea where my issue is?
