Anyway, my boss didn't have any scruples to sell it as a used one 'in mint condition' ! I know, terrible

Listen to Scorpion and replace your HDD with a new one, otherwise you won't be able to diagnose it correctly.

Sanyo IP- PC hardware recommendation
dvrtiger posted a topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi, my firm just started using IP cameras, so I need a little help with them. One of our customers ordered 7 Sanyo HD VCC-2500P 4 megapixel cameras, and 2 VA-50LAN modules for his two existing Sanyo dome cameras. My question is, could someone give me advice what would be the most optimum PC server hardware configuration for this type of setup? Thanks in advance! -

I've even suggested a Linux based solution because it deals far more better with heavy algorithms for video compression...an it's less processor 'hungry' than any Windows OS and application ... but my suggestion was repulsed as 'ancient' Hm, I agree, I won't deal with idiots next time...or at least my boss should not Thanks for your time and help! -

The problem is that he is a kind of amateur pc geek ( and to such people it's just impossible to explain that maximum doesn't meen the best). He has a server unit with 4GB of ram and Dual core processor and 1GB video card, so right now we have to upgrade his system. I've installed and tried everything as he wanted but processor is almost non stop at 100%. -
Bring them to any TV repair shop, usually the problem is only in bad elecrolytic capacitors, or blown varistor ( caused by external voltage spike). We service such problems on every day basis in our repair shop.

Oh, I didn't know that it's the same software. Well, his requirement is for live view of all cameras and he wants the max frame rate possible ( he wants everything as max as posssible, but, his money so... ) -
You have an obvious firmware problem. Try to upgrade it if possible.

NVR software will be VA-SW50 SANYO VMS Advanced. Customer wants to view and record his seven VCC-HD2500P cameras in H.264 in 1920x1080 and two VCC-P7575P domes with VA-50LAN module in max possible resolution. He also wants a live view of all cameras. Recording will be motion triggered, and required storage should last at least five days. -
View AVC761 from the new Nokia N900 - Possible?

You should try to update media player and internet browser on Maemo OS (which is based on Debian Linux so it should not be to difficult to do). EagleEye is Java based so it should (in theory) work on all OSs with Java support but it also depends on media (video codecs) specifications of mobile phones. -

Here's a manual : http://www.sanyosecurity.com/pdf/cctv/inst/vcr%28ntsc%29/dsr3506.pdf On the same web page you will find DVR VIewer v.2.0.3 and HDD reading software VA-SW300 which is needed for the above Viewer.

Help with "video loss" problem
dvrtiger replied to skytech security's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
You have a camera issue, if Ch1 works fine with other cameras, and cam 1 didn't work on other channels, than it's malfunctioning, no mater that it's working on your laptop USB DVR. My guess is that signal from that camera went out of specified range (1-2 Vp-p) because DVR input stages are quite sensitive to such issues. -
First, disconnect it from your DVR, PC or whatever it's hooked to, and connect it directly to monitor, just to eliminate DVR issues. Second, take your multimeter and try to measure if you have 1-2 Vp-p on BNC out from camera.

Hi, does anyone know is there a firmware download avaliable for the Sanyo DSR-5709P? I'm unable to find any.

I suppose at Monday, one DVR is going to die for a greater cause I hope I won't be judged as a murderer by forum users

Scorpion, just say which one and we'll tear it up!

Request for German, and French AVTech DVR manuals.

Be aware! Who knows what I've wrote in Croatian Just kidding! -
I agree with scorpion, new firmware will not fix such problems-if it would, it would mean that the original one was semi-functional from the start-and that is impossible! It's more or less a hardware problem, I would go for electrolytics or bad capacitors around CMOS if new battery and hardware reset don't help.

Turn CPU PSU to supply PWR for CCTV?
dvrtiger replied to paparaaaapa's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Fuses are mandatory We are not talking about power lines now, just how to convert it. Malfunction on any camera won't destroy them all. Switch mode power supply of flyback design, as ATX, is equipped with ultra fast switching diodes which act as fast fuses by discharging sudden spikes to the earth conductor. Think of them like they are some hybrids between diode and varistors. They use dU/dt effect for their operation. When they conduct over their upper treshold, PSU shuts down. Fuses are needed on output wires in front of every camera to prevent total shutdown in case of local malfunction on any camera. Also, a very simple circuit could be constructed to automatically reset PSU if total shutdown is caused by external short-timer circuit based on 555 and relay. -
cctv for monitoring volcanic activity
dvrtiger replied to si_kungs's topic in General Digital Discussion
On the other hand, if this setup is going to be used just for hobby purposes-FLIR is out of question in any form. And I think lens assembly for few km long coverage-also. As I know, FLIR cameras aren't designed for continuous use because they are highly dependant on their coolant for proper operation. Usually, such devices for science and geological survey are triggered by seismograph or LIDAR devices. At the end, such cameras are custom built for specific purpose. -

Yes, there are full PTZ FLIR cameras, used in high level security installations like prisons...and in chemical industry for monitoring some hazardous processes. But the price... One that I've seen, was a military 'toy' used for back-up targeting for RBS-15B anti ship missile -
You should check master/slave jumper first. How old is your DVR? If you had to replace your HDD three times in a short while...than something is wrong with your IDE controller. You could also experience some firmware issues with newer ,16MB cache, HDDs. Older ones used 8MB cache. Try locating newer firmware if available.
