AmericanDynamics ADTTE16E issue
dvrtiger replied to dvrtiger's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Thank you for your answer, I'll see to it and try with a matrix. It's been a while since I've worked with them, so I've forgot about it. -
Hi to everyone! I have an issue with adtte16e touch tracker v5. After applying power and boot up sequence it displays 'R1' in the upper right corner and I'm unable to control it or to enter menu functions. If someone has a solution, I would appreciate it. Regards

Hi, I have a problem with one Intellex 2.6/3.2 unit (Intel D865GBF motherboard). Recently, HDD started to show it's age, so we decided to replace it. But, here our problems started. New HDDs (we have tried one 500GB ATA and one 320GB SATA unit, with BIOS update to the latest version) were properly prepared and installed but recovery process can not be started or if if it starts, after it unit hangs on at boot (after POST). The only HDD with which this unit starts is the old HDD. If someone could help. I would appreciate it.

Avtech AVC 773/776/777 date/time issue repair tips
dvrtiger posted a topic in Digital Video Recorders
Recently I've got a truck load of AVC 773/776/777 DVRs in our service shop with the same symptoms: time/date issues and recording issues. The origin of this issues was tracked to back up capacitor, marked BT1 on PCB, which has the same purpose as a normal button cell battery on most DVRs. It is a 0.22uF/5.5V capacitor which you have to replace because it degrades it's capacitance by age. Also, you have to raplace two nearby crystal oscillators, marked X2 (22.1186kHz) near master microcontroller and X3 (32.768kHz) which are affected by degraded capacitor and it's leaking current. I hope this will help to someone. -
Avtech AVC 773/776/777 date/time issue repair tips
dvrtiger replied to dvrtiger's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Well, you have to look around clock oscillator and figure out if there is backup capacitor or battery, because I don't have knowledge about PCB setup on your models. But as I know, most AVC DVRs use the same crystals so the only difference would be between capacitor and battery. -
I guess that you are not logged on it with admin or full access rights.

Yes, there are differences between indoor and outdoor products, first of all in their overall design to withstand atmospheric conditions, covered under IP code. All the seams are usually well sealed with rubber gaskets, and dome protective cover is made of UV resistant polycarbonate (to resist the impact of sun UV radiation which is a killer for most plastic materials). Also, materials used in design are less prone to crackling caused by sudden temperature changes, frost or extreme direct sun heat. If you use indoor camera, you could expect your camera to fail due to short circuit caused by condensed water from humidity in air.

Yes, I agree with you that we should try to help him starting with the least expensive tests. But, if the problem is with the VACD, it should be resoldered with hot air, because this cards can get quite hot and thiny solder traces can get de-soldered as a result. If this doesn't help, I could help him with some advices about repair, but it will depend on his knowledge about electronics.

I had a similar problem once, and the problem was tracked to faulty VACD card. If you can see recorded video, or windows desktop normally, there is nothing wrong with your VGA card. VACD card is responsible for preparation of live feed to VGA card ( first VACD card processes input video signals and compresses them for storage, and AFTER that another decoder on the same card decodes that video and sends it to AGP bus for real time feed). As this decoder is not essential for other functions of the card, I guess it's diagnostics state isn't included as a watchdog trigger input on VACD microcontroller so it doesn't causes system to restart.

Intellex DVMS DV16000 disk read error
dvrtiger replied to coastwatch's topic in General Digital Discussion
You have to set cd drive in bios settings as first boot device and than you have to reboot your system with recovery cd in it to restore your system. Do you have recovery CD set for that version? -
Oh, I'm impressed that this old unit managed to work for almost two years after servicing, as it was destined for junk when I first saw it As I remember, the MoBo on that 2.1 was changed, but MAC was modified and it should work with the original SW key (as it did till now). Big salute to my ex colleagues!
-
This unit came to me with win2000 OS (Intellex software version 3.2.55), stickers on it's case and HDD are marked 2.6/3.2. Original drive is WD 250GB, ATA, MoBo is Intel D865GBF. This unit was never serviced and it came to me in it's original configuration. All other components tested OK.

Hi, thanks for your quick response. Yes, the system boots up properly with the old HDD but it doesn't with any new drive and I'm unable to add new HDD for storage with the old one as system drive. System just refuses to boot or work with any new HDD. Even if I clone the old one to another HDD, this new HDD still doesn't boot. New HDD's are detected by BIOS but boot sequence stops after POST. I suspect there is something really wrong with IDE/SATA controller on motherboard.. Yes I have access to recovery CDs and procedures for all versions and I'm familiar with replacing Intellex motherboards and spoofing their MAC.
-
New BIOS version was installed because of some known issues with newer SATA HDD generation, and hard drives were partitioned and proper partition was activated. Also they all got their correct settings under BIOS. Well I guess I could try to clone the old disk to a new one, but Im not so sure how well it will go, because of a state in which the old drive is...

Sanyo VCC-HD4000 firmware
dvrtiger replied to autone's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
There is no new version of firmware for HD4000/P, but there is for all other models 2100/2300/2500/4600 etc. -
Does anyone has, or knows where to find, schematics for CPD503 4ch DVR? I have one unit with burnt power supply input board (I need to indentify some smd transistors)?

Does anyone has, or knows where to find, firmware (in .hex or .bin format) for ADTTE-16E? I've got a bunch of them with bad U6 EEPROM (parallel flash AT28C256) and I'd like to replace them with new ones that I'll program with flash programmer, but I'm out of good ones from which I could get a flash dump. Thanks!

Hi, does anybody has a SmartTrack rail system from Sentry Technology instalation and user manual? Thanks in advance!
-
Yes, for track alignment I think we will have to call a plumber to solder all those track pipes (which look suspiciously like heating pipes )

Avtech AVC 773/776/777 date/time issue repair tips
dvrtiger replied to dvrtiger's topic in Digital Video Recorders
No, I didn't notice that it's an issue related with some particular year of manufacture...to me, it is just a normal problem caused by a capacitor on such a critical position, which doesn't allow much of a tolerance, after some time. -
Hi, I've got one AVC 777W for repair, with bad battery. My problem is that markings on it are scratched so I don't know which one to take for raplacement one. If someone can help me, I would appreciate it!

Thank you Scorpion!

I have a problem with CPD 577W unit. Everything works fine, but after several days it locks it self in record mode and I'm unable to enter menu. Even when I stop recording mode, when I press menu key, it starts recording again without entering into the menu! If someone could help me, I would appreciate it.

Oh, I know exactly what do you mean about strange winter...especially because the part of my country in which I live is 'Croatian Florida' (Dalmatia) Hm, I had a similar problem in our service shop-one DVR refused all my atempts to power it self up-until it 'fell' of from table!
