Rio_Grande started following Neighbor aiming camera directly into my backyard, NV5000 export problem, Wireless IP cameras and and 5 others
-
I have a new AverMedia NV5000 that we use in an interview room. I can export the video file with audio and play it on the avermedia software however when I attempt to burn the video to a disk or play with an outside viewer I do not have audio. Any Ideas as to what the problem may be and how to fix it?

I am looking for this info as well,,,, George the camera you are looking for can be had from several suppliers, supercircuits is one. But you are not gonna get much fov or distance out of any of them I have seen. I usually build my own. I haven't used it to trigger the dvr yet because I use software for that but I have read you can continue to use the sensor. Jeff -
Wireless IP cameras
Rio_Grande replied to Rio_Grande's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Well most of this is fairly positive,,, The adapter to transmit is pretty good size, makes concealment a problem.... I am going to have to continue learning on this,,, might be an outlet in some situations. I had gotten away from wireless because of interfearance inside buildings and just went mostly wired years ago and then just didn't keep up with the tech.. Do these transmit any better than 1.2ghz? -
Wireless IP cameras
Rio_Grande replied to Rio_Grande's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Kinda, I could find uses for the second one, what I would really prefer is something like a adapter that would take vid input from say a board camera then transmit that out to the server??? I noticed the old style transmitable stuff has come down in price -

Looking for small indoor cameras. I have found a few IP cameras since posting this on the net. I am used to toe old Mhz and ghs transmitters and recievers that are seperate. I do not know anything about the camears that can be run off of a router direct. Thanks for any and all info -
Gentelmen. I had a potental ask me about wireless IP cameras. I looked around a bit at the supplier I use and cannot find anything like that. Can you guys shed some light on them for me? He mentioned they worked with a wireless router to feed video through the system.... Jeff

Don't quite understand port forwarding and kudos

Just to contribute to the forum. for anyone reading this. The problems I listed above can be caused bt a DSL modem. -
I recently installed a DVR and got it recording with no issues. The problem I an having is it will record fine until it hits a point where it changes to frame by frame recording, Bout a 1 second hold. If I go into the dvr and check the settings then back out it records fine for a while then starts the frame by frame deal again. The DVR is motion triggered and running at super resolution (highest quality) I was thinking about reducing the quality and see if that makes a diffrence. Any Ideas? It ran fine for a week then started this.

Indiana the only restriction is USC on audio. The employer placed them for asset protection. No laws against it in this state. But Audio is strictly prohibited unless one party in the conversation is aware. You couldn't place them in say a rental apartment at the behest of the owner... I am still out on this,, I can view on lan, port forwarded properly but when I dial into the server from the outsde I get time out error. it will not connect. I think I have something wrong but I can't figure out what. Verizon is no help whatsoever. as to if they are blocking the ports. I am replacing the router at my cost to get a linksys so I can get a tutorial on port forwarding to be sure it is done right. Any further suggestions. ? -

Well I am lerning and some of these abriviations are starting to make sense. One question,,, Even if the ports are not forwarded and the server is just sitting there shouldn't I get something when I dial into the server? As is it just times out and says site cannot be found. the orignal modem router had to be bridged because there were no more ports on it. So it was bridged to the router. Which makes me wonder if I am typing in the wrong IP, Should it be the IP of the modem or the IP of the router? Thanks for helping me out. Jeff -

When one is as uneducated about networking as I everything helps This DVR is a seperate unit from the computer, they only connect through the router. Need to figure out how to get through the router into the DVR. -
Hello gentelmen. I have been building covert enclosures for some time now and have been using pretty much the same color pinhole board camera made for medium range and good in small rooms or hallways. I am building a outdoor housing and need a camera that is more suited to mid range video, The housing will be installed aproxamately 10 feet off of the ground and angled at about a 60 deg angle. I need to catch movement out about 40 feet. I orignaly used a bullet cam for this and was pleased but the enclosure was to big, so I am back to pinhole. Any recomendations for this type of camera?
